The new official illustration for the new collab caffee is absolutely gorgeous—love love love the Alice in Wonderland theme going on! We also saw another of Penelope’s dresses that called back to this theme in the manhwa (the blue one from the island arc)

Didn’t know I needed Callisto acting the part of the red queen until today eugheugheugh look at those biceps he’s so beefy *dies*

And I know we knew as much since pretty much the beginning, but it’s so liberating to finally see Callisto take on the mantle as the true official male lead and endgame of the story!! He’s finally getting the spotlight he deserves in both series and merch, I cannot stress enough how happy this makes me GO CALLISTO GO *explodes*

Y’know what—the rest of the male leads as chibis are so stinking cute, I want to wrap them up in a blanked and put them in my pocket aaaaaa

And you know ya girl is getting the corottos of these little stinkers, this time I’m actually pretty tempted to get them all instead of my usual tunnel vision for mostly Callisto and Penelope, and occasionally Reynold

COUPLE STANDEES WE WON SO BAD AUGH

Finallyyyyyyy omfg—fucking finally, we’ve been waiting to get couple standees of these two, it was always other manhwas but never vadd *sobs*

Crazy to see that we actually made it, and with this result no less, the standees are absolutely breathtaking!! Apparently if you buy them both together you get some sort of ‘couple bracelet’ or smth as a little extra which is so adorable, can’t wait to make a lil’ review of these when I order and get them :D

Back to the art though; another thing I absolutely love about today’s new illustration is this hearts detail—Callisto is dropping four hearts into Penelope’s open hand, she’s willingly accepting them. Not only that—there’s two red hearts (symbolizing Callisto) and two magenta hearts (symbolizing Penelope)

But that’s not all!! Usually these crystal hearts were used to symbolize the male leads and their affection scores in the covers—and what do we have here? Exactly four hearts for the other remaining ‘male leads;’ Callisto basically replaced those with his own and Penelope’s

Just got volume 7 of Villains Are Destined to Die today!! My collection grows, and I couldn’t be happier ^^

Masterpiece through and through—I’m talking about Penelope, that is hehe >:)

The main color for vol.7 seems to be a sage green; well suited for the season(s) and the plot points it’s featuring *nods nods*

Vol. 7 picks up where vol.6 left off, with the beginning of chapter 121 in the manhwa and finishing with the beginning of chapter 141 in the midst of Penelope’s meeting with the Duke, and before she sneaks into the dungeons to confront Eckles

All in all, solid volume as usual! May be biased but the print is just superior, argue with the wall I don’t want to hear it.

This man will always be funny to me.

You know why?

Precisely because of his twisted sense of humor.

Callisto has good qualities but also bad ones, like being cruel, NO ONE has ever doubted that, because after all, he is a character whose actions speak louder than his words.

In a nutshell, as he is cruel, his sense of humor is twisted. And when he interacts with Penelope we can witness it. Mainly, because he loves to tease her.

This guy has no qualms about making jokes about her nickname, "the rabid dog of Eckhart," about her social position, about the incident in the imperial garden labyrinth, about the crossbow incident, about the Laila clan... He even joked when he was poisoned or bleeding! His humor never had limits, and all because he liked to see Penelope's reaction, either because she looked pretty when she was angry or because he liked the fierceness of her responses...

Of course, after the coming-of-age incident, he regretted making her angry... Yet still continued his twisted humor later in the story.

But we must not overlook the fact that, with his twisted sense of humor, he liked to play a particular joke on Penelope: buying her things that were exaggeratedly expensive from his budget (which, by the way, was quite limited because the current empress was the one behind the empire's finances, I mean, let's not forget that little and important detail).

Callisto of course knew about the rumors of Penelope buying lots of jewelry, so as a joke, he bought her not only jewelry, but dresses, crossbows, and so on. To everyone else, Callisto seemed to be courting her, trying to win her over. But they both knew perfectly well that it was just a joke from him to annoy her. A very twisted and waste of money, but a joke after all.

Callisto knows perfectly well that Penelope is not going to fall in love with him if he does those things, because, again, it's a joke between the two of them and the funniest thing is that I have to clarify what is obvious to the readers.

I will never understand, nor am I interested in knowing, the reasons of people who do not like Callisto, but there is a huge difference between criticizing using the liver and criticizing using the brain, and as a reader, you can easily tell who has read the work and who has simply over-read it.

This was not a fairytale, nor was there any apparent curse except for his own cruel fate.

Callisto kissed Penelope goodbye, but she did not wake up to see him off as he went to play yet another war game for the Emperor.
