Smoke, Prince Aerion's cat, lives in the Dragon Pit. She is skilled at keeping the rats and unwanted visitors away from the dragon nests.

Essvious, bonded to Aerion Targaryen since the Prince was eleven. The dragon grew up in the hatchery of Dragonstone with Syrax.

His parents are Meleys and the Cannibal, according to the Dragonkeepers. Though they are not certain.

Although this union was financially advantageous, the marriage itself was unsuccessful. Daemon found the Vale of Arryn unappealing and quickly became bored. He developed a strong dislike for his wife, lacking any love or affection toward her, and referred to her derisively as his "bronze bitch," a mocking nod to the ancient armor of the Royces. Rhea, in turn, harbored no affection for Daemon, and they soon became estranged, even after the birth of their only child, Aerion Targaryen."
