11. How do you handle an absent RP partner that you have a ship with?
People like to say "real life comes first". It's a sentiment I agree with in the sense that real world commitments should absolutely come before a video game, but I don't like the saying, because it implies that the people you're roleplaying with aren't real. The people you're roleplaying with are real; their feelings matter, their time matters, and their characters matter (in the sense that their characters are their intellectual property that they have invested their time, creative energy, and probably at least some emotion into).
A romantic relationship between OCs is, by nature, almost invariably going to represent a greater commitment on your part to someone else's character and their story, and being absent for a prolonged period of time can have a significant impact on that. By all means, "real life" should come first. Your job, education, health (mental and physical), and "real world" relationships should always come before a hobby - but the respectful thing to do when RP needs to be put on the back burner is to have an adult conversation about it with your partner. Respect their time, their energy, and their art enough to have that conversation and come up with a solution together rather than leaving them to figure it out alone. Sometimes that means the ship has to come to an end.
I'm not shipping with anyone currently, but if I were and I needed a break, I would talk to my writing partner so we could figure out together what that would mean for our characters, and I hope that they would do me the same courtesy. If my partner ghosted me, I would give them time (given the possibility of crisis or incapacitation), and I would absolutely reach out, but if I don't hear anything from them for months? I'm praying they're OK, wishing them the best, and making a decision for my character that works for me.
Thanks for the ask!

15. What’s the most important thing you’ve learned when it comes to RPing ships?
In my experience, OOC communication is not just critical, it's the foundation upon which ships are built. For me to engage in romantic RP with someone, we have to be friends and we have to have solid communication OOC. I ran out of spoons for drama (of the non-fictional variety) long ago, and the overwhelming majority of that seems to be rooted in poor communication. I'm sure this is the answer most people will give, but that's because it's true. 😘
Thanks for asking, @amorthonblackwood!

Pick a lane ‘n stick in it. Ain’t no room fer ye’ wolfish pricks anymore. Either get yer shit t’gether or eat a bullet like a feral.”

6. How does society view you, or how would it view you if it knew about your magical practice?
“I don’t think people are bothered by a harvest witch. Maybe I look a little eccentric, the way I fuss with plants - but a Worgen? Most folks don’t like that.” I apologize for the delay in answering this one. Writing about witchcraft in the context of World of Warcraft is a challenge. There is virtually no official lore on the subject, which allows for a great deal of creative freedom for roleplayers, but no good way to answer a question like this. I had written out several more paragraphs trying to explain, but literally no one would want to read them so I deleted them.
Thanks for asking, though!

9. What made you take up magical practice?
“My mother.”
Emily’s mother, Mary Barker, belonged to a coven of harvest witches who joined the Wolf Cult believing that the Worgen curse would empower their magic. Emily was born under Tal’doren and brought up a witch.

2. Is there a religious aspect to your magical working?
“There was, once, but not anymore.”
Prior to a major event that has yet to be documented on tumblr, the bulk of Emily’s magical ability was borrowed from Elune, whom the Wolf Cult worshipped alongside Goldrinn. She has since cut ties with the moon goddess and given up that power. To be clear: Emily (who does not call herself a druid) used to utilize balance druid spells and no longer can. Her offensive magical abilities have been greatly reduced, and her current abilities fall under the restoration druid skillset.
Although the Worgen curse is magical in nature and enhances her magical ability, Emily doesn’t consider being a Worgen part of her magical work. The magic she still practices is tied to nature: the earth, the plants, the animals - but not to any god. That is not to say that Emily is no longer religious, merely that her remaining magic is not part of her religion.
Thanks for asking, @dardillien-ward!

4. Would you ever kill someone by magic? How about with non-magical means?
“Already have, love.”
When Emily was living and working in Kul Tiras, she took on a great deal of contract work in order to keep her bar tab paid. While she doesn’t think of herself as a contract killer and certainly doesn’t favor such work, any business involving the local witches always went that way. When it was them or her, she used whatever means necessary to make sure it wasn’t her.
Thanks, @amorthonblackwood!
