Emma nodded and slipped the hoodie on quickly, smiling at how big it was on her, and she settled down on the ground, hugging her knees. "Okay Jack - be careful," she said softly, on instinct, and smiled at him lightly.

Jack saw Emma had a slight frown.. it was hard on both of them, now that Jack had his memories returned to him, he remembers this place used to be more lively.. Once inside Jack set down his shepherd staff and took off his hoodie.. he handed it to Emma.. “Here, this will keep you warm until I get back, I’ll get some firewood and make you a fire.”

"It's not your fault," Emma mumbled. "But I- I just.. He's going to marry me off, Jack! T-To Jonathan!" her face became dismayed, and she was trembling. "Just four more years and he can get rid of me," she mumbled, and rubbed her arms. 

“Emma,” His voice lowered, tone softer than before. “He won’t hurt you again, alright? No one will hurt you again. I’ll protect you.” Jack frowned, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “I should’ve been around to protect you before..”

Emma watched all that he could do in obvious awe that the magic her brother had. She smiled and gripped onto his hand happily, allowing him to lead, and then paused when she saw the house, her gaze softening. Slowly, she moved inside, and a small frown crossed her face. 

"Lots of memories," she said to herself.

Jack chuckled. “I don’t know how I just do this..” he touched a tree next with his staff.

“And that happens..oh! oh! and look-y here!”

“Emma.. I’m so glad your okay… Come on..” he said leading her back to their original home.. it wasn’t as nice as back in the day, it was a little worn down but Jack tried to keep it as nice as possible, it was cold in there.. Jack never expected guests to start a fire for or have blankets.. he’ll have to get some wood.

Emma flinched slightly and looked away. "..Only sometimes, when I've misbehaved," she mumbled. "Sometimes I don't clean enough, or.. or I stay out too late and he gets mad.. " she shook her head. "Nothing too bad.."

“Wait, what?” He squeaked, his eyes narrowing. “You’re the one who what? What’d he do to you? Emma-” He gently gripped her shoulders. “Does Uncle Tim hurt you?”

Emma looked at him, and there was genuine pain and anger in her eyes, and she clenched her fists. "I hate him." she repeated. "He drinks too much, and then he gets angry, and when he gets angry I'm the one wh-" she cuts herself off, shaking her head. "No, you'e right. Family." she repeated, tired suddenly. 

He made a soft clicking noise with his tongue. “Oh, come on, don’t say that about him? He’s still family. I mean, maybe he isn’t the nicest…” Jack forced a small smile at that. “But he’s still our family.”

Emma hugged him again, tightly, and then she watched, wide-eyed as he made the frost, a soft gasp leaving her lips. "H-How did you do that?" she asked, awed.

Jack listined in tently and looked at her in dis belife. ” The moon did?” Jack looked up at the moon. “Thank you..” he whispered and looked back down to Emma. He hugged her again. “I did fall in the ice.. And next thing I know the moon rose me out.. And did this.” Jack said touching his white hair. “Watch this..” he touched a flower and watched it as it was covered in icey crystals.. He looked back at Emma and smiled.

Emma flinched slightly, and sighed, glancing down at the ground. "W-Well - last time I saw her she wasn't doing too good.. she was bad after you died b-but then daddy.. and she shut off completely.." she hugged herself tightly. "Uncle Tim took over the house after she shut off." she flinched slightly, trembling. "I hate him." 

“Why wouldn’t I save you? You’re my sister.” Jack echoed her laugh, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Are you alright? A-and Mom, is she okay?”

Emma shuddered slightly, snuggling into him. "I missed you every day.." she said quietly. "I'm so happy you.. you're here.." she let out a shaky laugh and looked up at him, smiling hugely. "T-Thank you.. f-for saving me, then.." 

“Hey, don’t say that.” He frowned, lowering his own voice to a whisper. “It wasn’t your fault, it was an accident. And I’d rather it have been me than you. If falling meant that you were save, I’d do it all over again.”

Emma trembled slightly and looked up with teary eyes, sniffing. "I thought YOU were dead - th-the lake a-and you.. you fell.. I.." her bottom lip trembled. "Th-the moon sent me here, to this time.. so I could be.. be happier.."

Jack held her tightly tearing up as he laid his head on hers. “Emma.. I-i thought you where dead..” he pulls away and bends his knees to her level. “Where where you? I missed you so much.”

Emma trembled slightly as she clung to him, letting out a shaky sob. "I though.. I thought I'd.. It was my fault, I'm sorry.." she whispered, voice breaking. "I thought i'd l-lost you.."

A stream of unfinished sentences fell from his mouth and he hesitated a long moment before hugging her back just as tightly. “Shh, it’s okay..” His fingers gently ran through her hair, holding her closer. “I’m alright, Emma, I’m fine..”

Emma gasped and flushed bright red.

"W-WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Emma sucked in a breath as his knuckles ghosted over her cheek, and suddenly, tears began to form in her eyes and spill down her cheeks. She let out a strangled gasp and immediately her arms were around him, clinging to him tightly. 

"I'm sorry!" she cried. "Imsorryimsorryimsorry!"

“Y-yes!” He breathed a laugh, hopping on his feet a moment before kneeling down to her height. “You can see me…and you’re okay!” He reached out hesitantly, brushing his knuckles against her cheek. “You didn’t fall in..”

Smiling as she wandered through the snow, Emma paused when she heard a voice call her name, and she froze, standing shock still, her breath quickening. She knew that voice. But that was impossible - Jack was gone! 

Slowly, she turned and her eyes fixed on him, noting his hair and eyes, and skin tone - they were different - but his face, and everything else.. it just screamed Jack, and that was the name her voice formed when she found enough breath to speak.

"J-Jack..?"

Jack noticed the small girl trudging through the ice and snow, narrowing his eyes slightly. Something about her seemed eerily familiar, and he glided a little closer to get a better look. Realization suddenly hit him and he gasped softly.

“Emma….E-Emma!” He called, hoping she’d be able to see him.

"J-Jack!" Emma gasped out, and then she was hugging him, clinging onto him tightly. "I missed you so much!"

"It's kind of.. unbelieveable, and I don't want you to think I'm crazy," Emma admitted quietly.

“If you care to tell it, I’m happy to listen. But don’t feel obliged, I don’t want to pry into what’s going on.” Fai said.

"I think so!" Emma assured her, smiling widely, and the fairy nodded before it flitted back to the trees and disappeared. 

"Wow!" Emma giggled.

Emma took the potion and drank it slowly before she shrugged her shoulders slowly. "I.. I don't know.." she mumbled. 

“Oh, here. This’ll take away the aches,” Maddy responded, handing Emma a potion with blue liquid. She sat beside her and Jack on the bed, sighing. “So, now what?”
