Forgot that I never posted this WIP of dragon cross

Will come back to this (someday... maybe) and hopefully actually detail the nightmare crew he's cuddling with

But anyway, dragon cross curled up with his hoard of treasures (and, or course, the most important of treasures being his partners<3)

Let's talk about Toriel.

Toriel is a grown woman, a mother of two. She teaches kindergarten at the local school, and volunteers at the local church as part of the choir. She is recently divorced. Her oldest child has recently gone off to college, and her youngest is:

Adopted from a young age

A different species

Known for pulling pranks and otherwise causing trouble, sometimes to great expense (e.g. bath bombs in the toilet)

Despite this, Toriel loves her youngest child as though they were her biological child. She checked out a "how to care for humans" book many, many times over the course of parenting Kris. She drives them to school each day, makes sure they're fed and cared for, and is clearly invested in their social life given how excited she is to learn that they've made a friend. As a newly single mother, she's doing her best.

But let's talk about her being newly single, shall we? She recently divorced her husband, Asgore. Unfortunately, Asgore has not accepted this. Toriel is being stalked by her ex-husband; he keeps giving her unwanted bouquets of flowers, and showing up wherever she goes. He even lampshades this, as though it's funny, when he pops out from hiding in the bushes near the church, after knowing that she would be there. Every time he does this, Toriel responds with obvious discomfort and anxiety, and makes an excuse to get away as quickly as she can. Asgore's behavior seems goofy and "well-meaning," but he is clearly ignoring his ex-wife's boundaries and actively disrupting her living her life by showing up where he knows she'll be, uninvited and unwanted.

So Toriel is recently divorced, with one child off to college, and another child who is clearly not doing well (despite Toriel's best efforts) still at home. She is being stalked by her ex-husband, but in such a way that it comes across as "friendly" or "kind" to everyone else, meaning she can't really make a big fuss about it or she'll look like the bad guy.

Then a new guy moves to town. He's friendly, he's funny, and they hit it off immediately. And unlike everyone else in town, this is a friend that doesn't have a connection to Asgore. (Rudy was Asgore's friend first, after all; it's not as if Toriel can really open up to him about how much his best friend is really putting the ass in Asgore.) This is someone that she can open up to, someone that she can confide in, someone that she can let a little loose with. Because she can't let loose at school, around the children; she can't let loose at church, in front of the wider community; but with a friend, in her own home?

And Sans is non-judgmental. Sans likes her jokes. As mentioned, Sans doesn't know Asgore, so he's not going to be inclined to brush off Toriel's concerns or discomfort because "well he just really loves you" or "he's just being kind." (Not to mention, Asgore also trauma dumped to Sans a bit, making Sans visibly uncomfortable as well, so Sans might even be more inclined to hear Toriel's side.) Sans knows about responsibility, given that this version of Papyrus seems to have issues of his own, and therefore perhaps Sans can relate with Toriel on how it is taking care of someone when you love them, but you don't exactly know how best to help them. Finally, Toriel has someone in her corner, someone who can understand, who she can have fun with.

Toriel isn't one of the main characters, and she's a grown woman and a mother (figure) at that, so I feel like it's easy to dismiss her side of things. Was it great that she was drunk when Kris came home, or that she and Sans continued partying even after Kris tried going to bed? No. But Toriel is a person, a whole entire person with a life outside of being Kris' mother. She's allowed to not always be on her best behavior, and she's allowed to make and spend time with a new friend when she, too, is pretty isolated as a result of her divorce and clearly stressed with the fact that Asgore is stalking her. ("Trying to win her back" is not, it turns out, an excuse for stalker behavior.) Toriel even tells Kris that the house feels lonely now that it's just the two of them, meaning that she, too, has been plagued with loneliness just like the main cast, and that Sans is, perhaps, her Susie.

Toriel is not an awful, uncaring mother because she got a little silly drunk with the first friend that is truly hers since her divorce. She's just a person. And she's allowed to be a person.

Finally caved and made myself a skelesona

I ended up trying to fit all my favorite design details & some of my own features in a big boiling cauldron and this was the result. I'm pretty happy with it! And hopefully i can maybe..... self indulge in some self insert x character stuff... if I dare feel bold enough to, lol

Might edit later on or add onto it, will probably just edit this post instead of making a new one tho

So with the new chapters release as if recent, I figured that I might as well post some older sketches of kris ocs i made a while ago!

I may possibly return to this sketch in the future and actually finalize it. I really did like the armor, but couldn't quite figure out how to draw their lower halfs 😭 anyway!!!!

So! Their order from left to right:

Kai. Full nickname is Kaiken — AU: Deltafell

Koda. — "OG" Kris, aka AU: Deltarune

Kira (yes, after deathnote) — AU: Snowrune

Rika. — AU: Delta!Overfell

Some fun facts about them!! While Koda is normal Kris, Kira is from a timeline where the player performed a Snowgrave (or "Weird") route with them against their will! Out of everyone, their lore is most likely to change as new chapters come out. But the basics is that they fought tooth and nail and, in the end, had Noelle freeze them in a block of ice to prevent more resets after the Roaring was triggered. They have this... I guess, shard of magic ice (?) In their soul? Something like that. Anna from frozen lookin blorbo. Anyway, they were eventually unfrozen from the ice and somehow was kept alive inside it. They left their timeline and are actively trying to find their Noelle to fix things, without the influence of the player messing with them!

Kai, unlike Koda and Kira, never got adopted by the Dreemurr family! They stay in an orphanage and their timeline is currently going through the human-monster war (as seen in undertale, but in current times!). Their asriel also ends up in the orphanage, and they become found family in a time where much is unknown

Rika! I love Rika so much. They're the same as Kai for the most part, but humans and monsters swap races essentially. Instead of being a fire magic Goat monster, they have ice magic! Unlike Kai, though, they tend to be more reserved and try to keep their head down more than them. When you live in a fell timeline and everyones life moto is "kill or be killed," its best to not draw attention to yourself more than you might already do. They ran away from their orphanage with their brother, and live in an abandoned school ✨️

Another!!! Small detail motif!! That isn't shown in this artwork but it does when I roleplay them. They all represent different suits from a card deck.

Koda is Hearts♥️, Kira is Diamonds♦️, Kai is Spades♠️, and Rika is Clubs♣️. I thought it'd be neat if the red symbols were for more classic aligned kris alts, while the dark symbols were for fell themed timelines

Stray (Cat)

Made another transfem killer.

Stray (or Ray, as some people call her) was abused, used, and experimented on by her Nightmare who ended up messing with her soul for the fun of it. With now both Determination and concentrated Negativity in her body, she's been made able to summon highly flexible and dangerous tentacles that she is still yet figuring out how to use and keep under her control. She is in constant and incredible pain (especially from her lower back, where the tentacles spawn from) that limits her in what she can do and for how long.

She does, however, escape nightmare with her team when the best opportunity presents itself. She has since started to transition socially and also explore her gender identity. Healing is hard, especially after being through so much hardship, but its all made a little easier when she has someone she can lean and depend on as old wounds can finally start to scab.

I have a lot of lore for her already but i probably won't ramble too much ejdjwjjs Anyway

She likes being called Cat by ppl she's close to, btw

Y'know, everyone can have their own interpretations of the Sanses and that perfectly fine but I don't understand why Killer would wear anything resembling Chara

Ive seen a handful of designs where he has the sweater or his jacket has the green and yellow pattern on it but I don't think he'd want anything to do with them given what they made him do :/

I totally get it if it's just a fun design choice with no meaning behind it but trying to explain why he'd dress like that story wise just doesn't make sense unless Chara MADE him wear it :b
