i fell into this rut of panicking and comparing every little detail of each drawing because I felt I’d spent more effort on some than others, worrying about stupid shit, procrastinating, letting time pass me by and just prolonging stuff unnecessarily, and as a result I think I’ll stick to the “I don’t get paid until after the Art is done” model because what I did essentially was backlog myself up the wazoo. i feel I understand my limits better now and can avoid having this happen again. instead of taking a huge heap of commissions at once, I’ll stagger them and only take new ones once the existing one or two are finished.

my body’s ridiculous reaction to caffeine means i can chug two cups of coffee late at night and count on the caffeine crash putting me to sleep ~2 hours later

ive decided there are human mages known as Watchers who secretly protect humans from troublemaking fae — they can’t be everywhere at once and their numbers dwindle by the decade since magic bloodlines are dying out, so their organization isn’t what it used to be, but they still do their best to intervene when a fae creature near them is causing trouble.

oz first met one after he teleported all the lobsters in a nearby supermarket’s lobster tank into his own home. he didn’t expect a masked human wearing enchanted gear to come knocking demanding he either put the lobsters back or find some way to compensate for the theft.

tumblr feels like one of those places where you know there are people who genuinely like you but also you feel there are people who pay attention to you only because they’re expecting you to slip up eventually so they can tear you to shreds

fucked up how cooking and baking from scratch is viewed as a luxury…..like baking a loaf of bread or whatever is seen as something that only people with money/time can do. I’m not sure why capitalism decided to sell us the idea that we can’t make our own damn food bc it’s a special expensive thing that’s exclusive to wealthy retirees but it’s stupid as hell and it makes me angry

we really ought to be more careful and ensure our discussions on generation gaps and generational politics don’t stray into really gross “we should kill all the old people” territory because uh. yikes

I’ve been having the absolute worst luck with postage.

When I lived in Chinook, the post office kept sending back my final paycheck, my employer tried to send it to me twice. I still don’t have it.

My employer tried sending my W-2 to my current residence twice as well. Turns out I can get some but not all mail because either I did my change of address form wrong (unlikely, given I did it exactly how my boyfriend did his, and his stuff is fine) or someone just done goofed with data entry. I’ve had to file for extension on my tax stuff, even though I don’t owe; I want my damn refund!

It’s not just my employer’s mail getting sent back too, it’s family stuff and etc. Real annoying.

Anyway, should be fixed now (hopefully, still waiting on confirmation) so I can mail that art I promised. I have nice big envelopes!

“Ghost Apples” in the Fruit Ridge area of Kent County, Michigan.

An unusual phenomenon when freezing rain coats rotting apples before they fall, the apple turns mushy and eventually slips out, leaving the icy shell still hanging on the tree.
