1.My project impacts eighth graders going into their freshman year of high school and all grade students in high school who want to know tips on how to do well with grades, social activities, etc. It will impact the students on what each advantage will have knowing the tips and hopefully have a good outcome in the long run. I am going to be a freshman all over again in college so I can use my own advice to help me work through some of the similar challenges that I will encounter. 2. I created pages on my blog on health, grades, social activities, class, hallways, teachers, peers, free time, freshman/sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I wanted my blog to be different from other blogs I have seen that I wanted it to have more detail. I wrote my blog to be specific but not very specific so all schools could use my tips. 3. I chose to do this project because I know many students think high school is really challenging and have a lot stress so I wanted to create a blog to help them with knowing that it’s possible to get through it and succeed. I know I would have liked something to help guide me with some tips. 4. I am done and ready to turn in.

Freshman
Upperclassman don’t like the freshman so don’t act like you are better than everyone because you aren’t. Grades do matter and will affect you in the future! Start thinking about what career you might want to go into after college, knowing will help you with what classes to take or not take. This website could help with deciding colleges and careers. https://mncis.intocareers.org/materials/portal/home.html

Prepare for the ACT/SAT , it will make a difference. This website can help with deciding colleges and careers. https://mncis.intocareers.org/materials/portal/home.html. Speaking of college start thinking about information you need for college applications ex: letter of recommendation.

Lunchroom
Your lunch table doesn't have to be set in stone on the first day of school or any day throughout the year.  Still, you should figure out this part if you know some people who are in your lunch from comparing schedules before school or earlier in the day, then great. Make a plan to meet up and find a table together. And if not, then be friendly, get there early enough to find a seat, and try to find friendly, accepting people to sit with you. It is also okay to sit by yourself if you choose to.

Free time once in a while is very important. Have balance of school and social life. Have fun and do whatever the heck you want, get away from the stress and drama you may have. If you have a job try not to work at your job too much, your only young once.

Peers
Be respectful and talk and get to know people outside your “group.” You never know you might meet your new best friend. Don't go around doing bad things, asking for trouble, getting into fights, or creating drama. No one cares about you as much as you do. Be yourself. Buy the clothes you like, not what someone else likes. Don’t Try to spend every moment trying to be popular!

just a few words of advice: walk on the right side of the hallways, DO NOT just stop in the middle or else you’ll get trampled. When you see your friends don’t scream, you'll see your friends at lunch. Not all schools have lockers for everyone so I recommend start getting used to not having one. Lastly, don’t make out in the hall, it is just tacky and gross.

I know this can be difficult at times but arrive on class on time. You don't want to miss anything important or even get so many tardies that can lead you to failing the class. Not every class may be exciting, no matter how hard you and your teacher might try. Yet, even in the most boring of classes, pay attention because you might save yourself time from the homework or grief on the test later. Learn how to take notes and take the classes at the level you need. Nobody will care or even notice that you are at a lower or higher level. Also, this can't stress anybody enough, don’t be that annoying kid in class that is always bothering the teacher and peers.

Get involved! Joining either a sports team or a club is one of the best ways to put yourself out there. You may say that you’re worried about not making the team or embarrassing yourself at try-outs. You might also feel intimidated by older kids trying out. But those are all excuses that will barely get you anywhere! Don’t let others’ excuses affect your interests and opinions; if you want to try out or join something go ahead and don’t be shy. Don’t be afraid to be yourself and get out of your comfort zone! This will also help when you are applying for colleges and meet new people.

Take your grades seriously, it affects what your future plans are.  Whether your plans include college, heading straight for the workforce, or taking a year off. Every little thing matters. Although, at the same time, if you get a disappointing one, it’s not the end of the world. Learn from your mistakes and do better on the next tests.  Don't Procrastinate and Study! DON’T PUT OF TRYING TO PULL YOUR GRADE UP UNTIL THE END OF THE  SEMESTER! I recommend using the website called Quizlet. It is great for making flashcards and taking practice tests.

You don’t have to be the teacher's pet, but you should still be friendly and engaged with your teachers. After all, you never know when you may later need one of them to give you a letter of recommendation! Teachers want to help you, so nothing is wrong with asking for help. They will appreciate the fact that you’re actually concerned about your grade and that you’re taking the initiative. Participate. Yes, you’ve heard it before, but only because it’s true. Teachers do notice who does and who doesn't. Be prepared for the teachers who call on random people and by doing this, it can make you more comfortable talking it front of your peers and get through the awkward silence. Turn in assignments on time. Teachers consider this the least you can do, failing to complete assignments on time reflects laziness and a lack of effort. But if you do, your teachers will be more inclined to help you and more likely to go easy on you in the future when you need it. Come to class prepared. Put your name on your papers. The little things make a big difference!

Your health is important! Take a breather once in a while. Homework can be boring and tedious. You might think that taking breaks during homework is a waste of time but it will actually help you improve and not fall asleep on your books! I recommend taking 5 minute breaks. You can get a little something to eat or do some jumping jacks. Also, make sure you are getting at least 8 hours of sleep so you won't be so tired during the day.

First days of school is nerve-wracking for everyone so you are not alone. Firstly, be confident and polite, that leaves a good impression on whoever you meet. Its a good chance to make new friends. ( I know you may hear this from your mom but it is true.)  Even though it’ll be the first day of school, pay attention in your classes, it does help you in the long run. Also, that cute outfit you really like, wear it, but think about saving some cute outfits for the following weeks so you don’t run out of cute outfits by the second week.

Hello!
This’ll be quick, so I’ll just introduce myself and be on my way. I’m a student who stresses a lot and hears that many people are stressing out too. About what, you may ask? Anything really, mostly grades and getting in to college, or  school in general. No one put up instructions for it on the internet. For my Econ and Government class we are doing 20% projects that you can do anything you want on it so I was thinking, why not make a blog to help upcoming freshman and even upperclassman with the challenges and questions they have. That is the purpose of this blog. Hope you like it!
