Just because she isn't helpless doesn't mean she isn't a victim. She prevented herself from a worse fate because she's smart. And obv probably had time to prepare. But she literally had no choice. Its either he kills her. Which she has no control over as he's prince regent. Or she manipulates him into letting her live in exchange for her help in many ways. She didn't wanna have sex with a man who just murdered a bunch of good people. That goes against her morals. Stop spreading the whole "victims have to be 100% innocent" thing. Its gross. Read the books again. He took her hostage. As his "war prize", that's what he called her. She didn't have a choice. It was either be MURDERED by him. Or become his bedmate and help him. She did it to survive. Shes not a psycho murderer like him.

I think the difference simply is that with aegon. He's king. And he hung them very openly in front of the castle for everyone to see. 11/12 being innocent. With rhaenys. She used it as an escape really. Hurting innocents obv still isn't okay. But she also knew it wasn't good. She's not a person who wants to hurt people. She showed that. They locked her in there. She made her escape. She needed meleys to get out properly without being taken back. Meleys is big. Getting her out of there would have hurt someone regardless. And even if it wasn't nessecary to go through the floor to the ceremony. She needed to send a message. Aegon didn't need to hurt innocent men. Its about publicity. And lesser evils here really.

i do wanna say how it's interesting that aegon killing the ratcatchers is addressed as a thing that hurts their cause but rhaenys killing a bunch of smallfolk isn't. interesting indeed.
