|| SUNDAYFUNDAY ||⠀ My good friend said the other day: "Only you could incorporate a donut into a singing tip" 😂⠀ ⠀ It's true, not only do I love donuts 🍩 (kids, just say no...they're really unhealthy. Really. Unhealthy. And yummy. 😬) but also, I like turning *everything* into a singing tip! (Try me...suggest any object, concept, whatever 😉)⠀ ⠀ So here is today's tip: Lots of people are not aware of how much resonance space your sound needs in your mouth when you sing 😱 How do you find out? ⠀ ⠀ Easy. Go get a few donut holes. 😂(SundayFunday = cheat day, right?) Put one in your mouth. Feel how much space that takes up? This is how much space your tone needs. ⠀ ⠀ Then, eat the donut hole (duh) and repeat the process, cuz...you know...you're a perfectionist and you wanna make sure you're doing it right 😜🍩🍩🍩⠀ ⠀ Enjoy your cheat day, darling 💕 & tag someone who loves donuts as much as I do 😂⠀ ⠀ #sundayfunday (at Los Angeles, California)

|| PEACE ||⠀ Chronic overthinker? 🤔 It can seriously get in the way of your singing (and general peace of mind). So how to calm that monkey brain?? 🐒 ⠀ ⠀ Here are 3 ways that I'm a big fan of:⠀ ⠀ 🙊 MEDITATE⠀ Lay down. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply & slowly. Observe your thoughts without reacting to them. Even though your brain is pretty awesome, so are your other body parts 🤷‍♀️ Pay some real attention to them. ⠀ How are your shoulders? ⠀ How is your belly? ⠀ How is your little toe? ⠀ If you feel tension anywhere, see if you can relax those parts by simply focusing on relaxing 💆 and 'breathing into' the surrounding muscles.⠀ ⠀ 🙊 DANCE⠀ Put on your favorite playlist and shake that booty 🍑 Don't just kinda tap a foot and bop your head...go full on Queen B, darling! 💃 No one is watching, so just go for it as if you're 4 years old again 🙃 Some good ol' fun combined with a substantial amount of endorphins will definitely do the trick. ⠀ ⠀ 🙊 GET LUCKY ⠀ I don't mean the way Daft Punk & Pharrell described in their 2015 hit (although...that helps too 😜). Here is an interesting experiment: ⠀ Assume that everything is going to work out 👌⠀ Assume that you are more than good enough 💁 ⠀ Assume that the universe is completely on your side ✨ ⠀ Worrying = not trusting. Overthinking gives us a fake sense of control, but in reality...it's just stopping us from being in the present. To be a good singer, being in the NOW helps you connect so much more with your instrument, your lyrics, your message 🗣🎶⠀ ⠀ You got this, darling!
