#art#traditional art#watercolour#fanart#vocal synth#synthesizer v#synthv#frimomen#asterian#genbu#alternate title: waveform measuring contest#based off a time i was testing out different vocals in a song that had a phoneme dragged across like five long notes#and i had put it an octave down and was testing it out with My Boys (tm)#and like. frimomen sounded nice but a bit odd because i only have his lite and those have an extra limited range#and asterian sounded wonderful BUT with a tasteful little falsetto softening of the highnotes as all AI banks are wont to do#and then. i put in genbu. and it was just a wall. his waveforms were like twice the size#instead of the auto falsetto of the AI banks (because standard banks assume you'll do that yourself with parameter shenanigans)#genbu just got louder. he just kept getting louder. it was awesome#that is one benefit of concatenative particularly in SV. SV is good about letting you like#blank out any autopitch etc compared to AI vocal synths BUT their naturalistic range can sometimes#be a detriment if you want a bit of an. unrelenting vocal flair. and for that u must go to sample based <3

"Whilst in London, I managed to get a ticket for Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia and managed to sit near legendary soprano Dame Eva Turner. This great singer was crying tears of happiness when Dame Joan sang her final aria. Flowers were coming from all directions and Dame Eva stood with the rest of us in tribute to our dear Joan. Being Australian, I am proud of this incredible lady."

Joan sings the fiendish vocal line from Lucrezia Borgia's final aria "Era desso il figlio mio." She departs from a low Bb3 to attack an Ab5 (in 'Capo') and Bb5 (in 'Strale') handling with all the scales and trills. La Stupenda indeed!

Just stumbled upon a st*y k*dz concrt (2023 i think) on tv and ig it was time for solo perfs bc there was 1 one member on stage singing,(vocals, not rap) standing with a mic stand (so there wasnt any dance or jumping, it was a loud ballad) singing OFF KEY the ENTIRE TIME without any backing vocals...
Out of curiosity, was that a one time thing or do they suck in vocals?
#idk who it was bc i only know the 3 popular members and it wasnt either of them#and when i looked at the members in google it seems like theyre a more rap/hiphop group with only 2 vocalist#which wouldnt excuse the horrible vocals i just heard tbh but still... it makes a bit more sense ig#but bro that was so bad i got embarrassed for him#like it wasn't one bad highnote or anything. he was off key the whole time.#my mom was also sitting here and she was like 'how is it this bad with all that technology and autotune they must have?' krkfkfkd#like i dont listen to them bc theyre mostly too young and their music isnt my taste#but considering how popular they are i assumed theyd be at least decent...#fr tho im curious kdkfkfk
