It’s the 20 year anniversary of the release of Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory album - and it doesn’t even matter.

“It starts with one thing... I don't know why” sings Linkin Park vocalist.  “It doesn't even matter how hard you try. Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme to explain in due time.”
He goes on to explain that “Time is a valuable thing” and suggests that one should “watch it fly by as the pendulum swings” and “watch it count down to the end of the day.”
He observes that “the clock ticks life away...It's so unreal.” He didn't look out below, and watched the time go right out the window. He tried to hold on, but “didn't even know or wasted it all just to watch you go.”
He says that he kept everything inside, “and even though I tried, it all fell apart.” His struggles intensified with melancholy as he reflects on the fragility of memories related to one’s identity.
“What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I tried so hard and got so far but in the end it doesn't even matter. I had to fall to lose it all but in the end it doesn't even matter.”
