Hello all! As you can see, our first event has been posted. I hope you enjoy this little foray into the dark and creepy side of the Wizarding World... and hey, don’t forget to make some IC mistakes, alright? I’m talking one drinks too many, maybe kiss a stranger, kind of mistakes.

Just a follow up regarding activity. I know I have been slow to come back after my hiatus but I am here now; apologies again for my unexpectedly delayed return. Some of you are coming close to our minimum activity limit, so if you have not posted in 14 days you will be unfollowed. Please touch base with me if there is anything I can do to assist. Our next activity check is 3 November GMT+1.

In other news, we are looking for more members! We have fifteen total writer spots, so come join us if we look interesting to you!

001. All-Hallow’s Eve

Diagon Alley has been infused with the power that comes from one of the most potent magical holidays in the year... All-Hallow’s Eve. Though some of the Wizarding World might like to forget the muggle origins of the celebration, over centuries the evening has become a time for the layers between magical and muggle grow thin, for strange occurrences and a fizzle in the air that makes one desire for reckless things. It is by the light of a Waning Gibbous that Diagon Alley in London is filled with wixen from across the country, all packed into the crooked laneways and cobblestoned squares, to celebrate the meeting between the spirit and magical worlds. Lanterns illuminate the husky late autumn evening, which punches the sky purple as a bruise, dotted with distant stars. It is clear and bright, milder than expected, with a gentle chill breeze. Stalls have been set up all along Diagon Alley, offering magical knickknacks, food, and mulled wine or spiced rum. Children and adults are in plentiful company, although later in the evenings various magical acts set up in the adjacent courtyards, and the drinks start to flow a little more readily. The entrance to Knockturn lurks on the corner of Diagon, and rumour is that if you venture down there, you may be in for a very different night than the family-friendly festivities the Ministry has organised...

WHAT: A multi-day evening event celebrating All-Hallow’s Eve WHEN: Taking place over the evenings of the 28 to 31 October 1999 START/FINISH: We start now and will end on 5 November GMT+1 WHERE: Diagon Alley and its various sprawling laneways, passages, and courtyards OOC: Welcome to our first event! We are kicking off with an All-Hallow’s Eve celebration! For four nights the Ministry is putting on an event that celebrates the second most frightening night in the magical calendar (the first being Samhain, April-May). You are free to continue existing threads, though be mindful that this event officially pushes us IC into the end of October and the beginning of November in the year 1999. I encourage some rapid-fire posts to get things going, and don’t be afraid of single sentence starters to break the ice! TAGS: #epoxy:event1 for all starters

Hello, everyone! First, thank you sincerely for keeping the dash going while I was away. I lurked quite a lot on mobile and it was great to see you all writing and plotting. Well done, and thank you!

Second, thank you for responding to our fortnightly activity check. I have reached out to those who may be slightly behind. If need be, please refresh yourself with our guidelines to ensure you are meeting expectations.

And finally, I have some... news. As you know, I held two private, anonymous polls for the group to determine some new directions. As we are quite small, I valued your input so we can build this group together. With that in mind, here are some updates/future directions:

We are expanding to fifteen character roles. These are no longer limited by suggested characters and are instead open to any character who was at Hogwarts at the same time as the Golden Trio. This number may be expanded to twenty in the future, but not any time soon, and it will not go beyond that number. Check out the character page.

We will not be a multi-muse group. This was clear from the survey results. We will stay a ‘one mun, one role’ group.

We will have a greater emphasis on character progression. This is already evident in the application, however, along with fortnightly writing prompts I will be including monthly progression ‘check ups’ where you can reflect on and plan how you would like your character to develop. Check out the updated schedule.

I will be posting character biographies! These are mainly just going to be pretty graphics with some basic information about your character, but I hope you enjoy them and feel like your role is more cemented in an otherwise freeform group. I value every one of you and I’m glad we’re here together.

For the time being, we will not have an OOC. There was only one vote to have an OOC, with most of you preferring we didn’t. I am going to revisit this idea in another fortnight, so please do take the time to consider whether you would like an OOC (Tumblr based, not Discord), and let me know.

Hello all! Just me here with a quick update. I will be moving the next round of acceptances forward to 8:00 AM 19 October GMT+1! This is purely because personal circumstances mean I won’t be online at the previously arranged acceptance time. how is the dash after opening? and will you do a first event?

The dashboard is amazing! We've had multiple rapidfire threads already and people are doing some really interesting plotting. It's been great to log in and see so many threads in such a short period of time. I think I can speak for our members when I say this place might be small, but it is vibrant.

And I am hoping to do a first event, yes. I will probably do it next week, so we have some time to settle into a rhythm. I have some ideas but I am asking our members to share some of their own thoughts/wishes/wants so I can run an event that everyone will enjoy!
