My Dear Lisichka,

I have no reason to write this letter. No, I do. But maybe it’s that I don’t know how to write letters.

Today marks our first anniversary. One year since you said I do and became fully and irrevocably mine. I’m sure I’m not supposed to be possessive or over the top in letters, but I can’t help it. Every day you spend by my side feels like a dream that I’ll soon wake up from, and there won’t be your little smiles or soft touches or nerdy habits. I’ll wake up and be homeless without you.

And I can’t live without you, Cecily. The other day, you fell and twisted your ankle, and I saw my life flash before my eyes, and for some reason, most of the images were filled with you.

So you are my life, Cecily.

Over the past few years we’ve been together, I’ve seen you thrive and grow into this strong woman while keeping that pure core I fell in love with. I love how you make it your mission to help others, how deeply you get involved in turning the world into a better place while being a perfect daughter and daughter in law.

My parents think they hit the jackpot with you, and they even treat you like a daughter and it’s my biggest pride.

But that’s not all I’m proud of you for. I’m proud you manage to be the anchor of your friend group and selflessly help your clients. But most of all, I’m proud you’re my beloved wife.

You still wrap your arms around me every night, wanting to recharge. You still look at me like I’m your god, just like I look at you like you’re my goddess.

You’re my safety, my refuge, and the one person I can be completely myself with.

I know it wasn’t easy to integrate into my world, but you made it feel effortless. I love you more every day, every hour, and every second. I feel like if I love you any more, I’ll burst and you’ll patiently put me back together again, because you’re my world.

Here’s to eighty more anniversaries where I’m yours and you’re mine.

Me, baffled by everyone being angry at chapter 2 when it’s not like half her MMCs haven’t done similar anyway, especially in her most popular book, so why is this a surprise to anyone

And you know what else? You could feel how much Rina loved this book and how much passion she has for their story. She put everything into it

Gruvia is an uncomfortable and abusive dynamic that should NOT be canon! And it’s a shame on Hiro Mashimas part that it is

I mean that’s your opinion but I personally disagree. I dint see how Gruvia is abusive in the slightest- a few early moments where Juvia is over the top for comedic effect don’t really strike me as ‘abuse’ and Gray (to me) clearly develops deep feelings for her in return.

Does anyone else think that NaLu and GrUvia are overrated?

Nalu yes, way overrated. They’re better as friends and all their ‘moments’ are just horrible and uncomfortable and so forced. I could rant about how much I dislike them endlessly tbh. But I personally adore Gruvia. Nalu is the only ship out of the big 4 I don’t like.

A tip for excellent writing I just learned: Don't introduce a character with their Dramatic Backstory. It makes readers go "oh alright this is the Dramatic Background Story Character" and establishes a baseline of Tragic, either for the story as a whole or this character in particular. With no contrast of light and dark, pure darkness isn't impactful, it just looks like the absence of anything to look at.

If you really want someone's dramatic backstory to hit the audience like a gut punch, let them get to know the character first. That way the dark backstory doesn't come off as a description of who they are, but an explanation to why they are the way they are. Bonus points for connecting it to something that's already been established as a part of the character - what a devastating blow to suddenly put together that hold on, that funny quirky thing that they always do is a fucking trauma response.

I genuinely don’t know. Maybe Lolu shippers? Lucana shippers?

Though I am also a lucana shipper but I don’t like Lucy much lmao. It seems most Lucy stans are NaLu shippers.

Little Purple,

I started writing a note about my wedding vows, but I decided to write you this letter as well and slip it under your pillow on our wedding morning.

I still can’t believe you’ll be my wife. The mother of my children (who better look like you, just saying). I’m the luckiest man alive to have someone like you by my side. My life started as a mistake, and I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve you, but I will spend the rest of my days showing you exactly how much you mean to me, Annika.

I’ll apologize for all the pain I put you through until my last breath. I’ll paint the world in shades of your favorite color, purple. I’ll learn cooking so you don’t get… tired. I’ll do everything in my power to ensure you’re always smiling.

I love how your face brightens up upon seeing me. How your nose scrunches and your eyes become glittery. I want to see that for the rest of my days, and for that, I’ll be the man worthy of Annika Volkova. Tomorrow, Annika King.

God, the thought of seeing you in a purple dress tomorrow as I make you my wife feels ethereal. You might have been interested in me first, but I’m the one who’s fallen head over heels for you, my little purple. The idea of being without you is unfathomable.
