So I'm planning on making a series of portraits of Aragorns in different LOTR adaptations (so the PJ trilogy, the 2018 Turku play, the 1988/1989 play/1993 miniseries one, probably the animated ones though fuck knows how i'll make them work with the otherwise fairly realistic style, and probably two musical ones if I can find reference photos, one from the original productions and one from the current ones). Already got started with the one from the current Tampere play that I posted yesterday.

And now I'm thinking and I can't make up my mind - should I draw Viggo Mortensen's Aragorn from the PJ movies next, or leave him for absolute last in the series?

Decided to draw Antti Reini's Aragorn from the Tampere LOTR play! The proportions ended up being a little bit off, and my pen nib decided it hates me so there's random ink splotches, but I spent too many hours on this to just not post it

A Dark Way

I always wonder what happened to Aragorn on his first journey through Moria; all we know is that in LOTR he says the memory is "very evil" and he's very reluctant to go into Moria a second time, which hits exactly that spot where you've got enough material to catch my curiosity but not enough to draw any kind of conclusion about any details at all...

This drawing I made for @fall-for-tolkien's Scribbles & Drabbles doesn't exactly answer that question, but it was certainly me playing around with the questions there are, and trying to see if I can create a spooky ominous vibe without any actual threat visible in the drawing
