~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 3
The smell of smoke comes first.
Then the snap of a twig in the woods.
Jungwon stills mid-conversation, brows knitting. “Someone’s here.”
Sunghoon turns toward the trees. “South border. Two heartbeats.”
Jay’s voice is sharp. “Only one is human.”
You feel Jake tense beside you.
Heeseung straightens slowly, scanning the shadows. “We’ve been found.”
It started three nights after the rain. Jake hasn’t said much since giving you the poetry book, but he watches you—constantly. Too closely.
Like he’s waiting for something to go wrong.
And now, it has.
You’re all outside in the garden tonight. The air is cool, the moon high, the scent of roses lingering. Ni-ki had just made a sarcastic comment when everything shifted—when the air grew too still.
You’re the first to spot the man stepping out from the tree line.
He wears a long black coat, boots streaked with dirt, and a silver stake hangs at his hip. His expression is calm, but his eyes are fixed on you—sharp, cold, and knowing.
“I heard you’ve been spending time with monsters,” he says, voice smooth as polished steel.
You stiffen, stepping closer to the boys. “Who are you?”
“Someone who protects humans,” he replies, gaze sweeping over the group. “From creatures like them.”
Jake moves before anyone else can—placing himself in front of you, his voice low and deadly. “She’s under our protection.”
The hunter chuckles, the sound void of warmth. “How noble. Tell me, vampire… how long until that protection turns into hunger?”
Sunoo hisses. Jay’s eyes burn with fury. Jungwon's fists curl at his sides.
But Jake—Jake just stares. Unblinking.
“I won’t hurt her,” he says, voice quiet but firm.
The hunter smirks. “That’s what they all say.” He glances around at the boys. “I just came to look. But keep your eyes open, boys. You’ve got a weakness now.”
And just like that, he disappears into the trees.
You all return to the mansion in silence. Jay slams the door shut. Ni-ki double-checks every lock. The parlor feels heavier now. Like the air can’t breathe.
“He’ll be back,” Heeseung mutters. “They don’t show themselves unless they’ve already made a decision.”
“Why now?” Sunghoon asks, pacing. “We haven’t drawn attention in years.”
Jungwon looks at you. “Because of her.”
Your heart sinks. “This is my fault?”
Jake answers instantly. “No. It’s his fault for thinking you need to be protected.”
“But I don’t want to put any of you in danger.”
Jay exhales harshly, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “You’re not the danger. He is. But we have to prepare.”
You swallow hard. “I can stop visiting. If that keeps you safe—”
Jake flinches.
“No,” he says, voice suddenly sharper. “Don’t.”
Everyone turns toward him.
You take a step forward, voice soft. “Jake…”
“If he wants to come after someone,” Jake says, gaze cold as ice, “he can come after me.”
That night, you can’t sleep. You’ve spent the night at the mansion before, and tonight is one of those nights. But even curled up in the guest room bed, you can’t quiet your thoughts.
You slip out, barefoot, wearing an oversized sweater and pajama shorts.
The air is cool against your skin as you pad through the halls and out to the garden.
Jake is there, sitting on the stone bench beneath the moonlit roses. He doesn’t look surprised to see you—only tired.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he murmurs.
“I couldn’t sleep,” you admit, stepping closer.
“You’re not safe.”
“Neither are you.”
He exhales, jaw clenched. “He was right, you know.”
Your breath catches. “About what?”
Jake’s voice drops, rough with restraint. “That I want you.”
You freeze.
“I’ve wanted you since the moment you looked at me without fear,” he says. “Every day, it gets harder to hold back. And when I saw him stare at you like you were prey—” He breaks off, trembling. “I nearly snapped.”
You take his hand. “You didn’t.”
“But I could have.”
“But you didn’t.”
His eyes burn. “I want your blood, Y/N.”
You squeeze his hand tighter. “I know. And I still trust you.”
Jake shakes his head. “You don’t get it—when we feed from someone we care about, it’s not just survival. It’s intimate. It’s connection. We feel everything.”
You step closer, so close your foreheads nearly touch.
“Then feel this,” you whisper. “I trust you, Jake.”
He stares at you, breathless.
And then he kisses you.
It’s soft at first—careful, tentative. But then he pulls you into him like gravity itself has given way. His lips are warm, desperate, reverent.
Your hands find his hair. You kiss him like it’s the only way to keep breathing.
Jake kisses you like you’re his last chance to feel alive.
When you finally pull away, gasping, his forehead rests against yours.
“You have no idea what you’re doing to me,” he whispers.
You smile. “I think I do.”
Katsuki Bakugo x Reader SMAU- Don’t love me for somebody I’m not!
Chapter 5 ( written part down below!) masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WRITTEN PART:
Bakugou had been nervous all day.
He paced his room, straightened the blankets, lit a cheap candle Kirishima gifted him last semester, (or at least that’s what Kirishima had told him) then blew it out, thinking it was stupid.
He wasn’t sure what to expect. He didn’t know what he’d done before the quirk messed with his head—but he knew what he wanted now.
He wanted to be good to you.
When you knocked softly and stepped inside, his heart thudded. You wore loose shorts and a tank top, your hair pulled back lazily, skin glowing from the night air. You looked… comfortable.
Effortlessly stunning.
You flopped onto his bed like you always did, bare legs curling beneath you. “I missed you,” you said, grinning, “but damn, I needed a girls’ night. Ochako dragged us to enhypen pop up event and we got bubble tea, and then we just goofed around for a while.”
He laughed—genuinely—and leaned back against the wall, watching the way you talked with your hands, the way your eyes crinkled when you smiled.
After a while, a silence settled between you.
He cleared his throat. “Hey… can I ask something?”
You blinked. “Yeah?”
He rubbed the back of his neck, eyes flicking toward you. “Before I lost my memories… did we ever get… intimate?”
Your face flushed, and you looked down at your hands. “Just once. It wasn’t—bad, just… it was kinda rough. Fast. I didn’t really know how to tell you to slow down.”
His heart sank.
“I’m sorry,” he said immediately, voice low. “I should’ve—I mean, I should’ve made it special for you. I hate that I didn’t.”
You gave him a small smile. “You didn’t know any better. But… you’re different now.”
Something tightened in his chest. He shifted closer.
“Can I… kiss you?”
You nodded, breath shallow. “Please.”
The kiss was slow. Gentle. Nothing like the first time. His lips brushed yours like he was asking permission with every move, and you melted into him, fingers curling into his hoodie. His hands were careful on your waist, thumbs tracing lazy circles on your skin.
What started as hesitant deepened quickly. His kisses turned hungry, but never rushed. When you tugged him down onto the bed beside you, he paused.
“You sure?” he whispered.
You looked up at him, eyes soft. “I want to experience what it’s like when someone makes love to me.”
His chest ached.
He kissed you again—sweet, patient, reverent.
And when you reached for him, he didn’t hesitate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 2
You return the next day.

Then the day after that.

Then three more times that week.
At first, the boys are cautious. Jay doesn’t speak unless it’s to interrogate you. Jungwon trails behind you like a silent guard dog. Sunghoon stays hidden upstairs, only emerging once to scowl before vanishing again. Ni-ki keeps his distance, but you feel his eyes on you constantly, like you’re a riddle he’s trying to solve.
Sunoo, on the other hand, warms up fast.
“So you like hanging out with vampires now?” he teases, swinging his legs off the armrest as you flip through one of their ancient books.
“They’re more polite than most of the humans I know,” you reply, raising an eyebrow.
He gasps, clutching his chest. “You’re calling me polite? Wow, you must be blind.”
You laugh. “No, just persistent.”
Jake remains a mystery.
He never seeks you out, but you always catch him watching. In the library. On the balcony. In the sitting room where he leans against the wall, book in hand, ear tilted ever so slightly toward your voice. He rarely speaks, but when he does, his words echo in your chest long after.
On your fifth visit, you bring your sketchbook.
You sit on the floor of the drawing room while Sunoo plays old vinyls on a dusty turntable and Ni-ki hovers nearby, pretending not to care.
“You draw?” Ni-ki asks finally.
“A little,” you say.
“What’s that supposed to be?” Sunoo leans over your shoulder. “A crow?”
“It’s Jay,” you answer innocently.
Jay glances up from his book. “I don’t look like a crow.”
“You have the vibe,” you smirk, flipping the page.
Jay narrows his eyes. “Draw me again. Accurately this time.”
You raise your pencil. “Gladly.”
As the days pass, something shifts.
Heeseung starts walking you home when the wind grows sharp. Jungwon relaxes, just slightly. Sunghoon begins showing up silent, watchful, but no longer avoiding you. Even Ni-ki starts asking questions: about music, food, the way the world has changed.
Jake, though… Jake stays distant. Until the day you ask him something no one ever has.
It happens in the library. Golden light spills through the tall windows, dust dancing in the quiet air. Books tower around you, and Jake sits in the window seat, thumbing through a collection of poetry.
You climb the ladder to reach the third shelf, glancing down just in time to see him watching you.
“I didn’t know vampires read,” you say.
He lifts his gaze. “We do a lot of things humans assume we don’t.”
“Like what?”
“Think. Feel. Regret.”
That stops you short.
You climb down, taking the seat across from him. “You regret something?”
A pause.
“Many things.”
You study him—really study him. His beauty is quiet, golden, but weary, like he’s lived too long and felt too much.
“What were you before all this?” you ask softly. “Before the mansion. Before the fangs.”
He looks at you, and for a second, you think he won’t answer.
Then, barely above a whisper: “A traveler. A dreamer. I used to believe the world could be good.”
“Do you still?”
“Some days.”
You reach out, gently touching his wrist. He flinches, but doesn’t pull away.
“You can still dream, Jake, you say. “You just don’t have to do it alone.”
Later that week, the mansion hums with an unfamiliar energy.
Jay watches you from the top of the stairs, fingers tapping. Heeseung smiles a little too long when you laugh. Sunghoon lingers in doorways.
Even Jungwon stops you before you leave.
“You’re changing things,” he says, voice firm.
“Is that a bad thing?” you ask.
He doesn’t answer right away.
“Jake hasn’t looked at someone like that in a long time.”
Your heart skips. “What do you mean?”
“He’s always held himself back. From humans. From us. He thinks he’s broken.”
“I don’t think he is.”
“Neither do I,” Jungwon murmurs. “Just… don’t hurt him.”
The next day, it rains.
Thunder rolls across the sky, and mist coils through the woods like breath.
You stand at the forest’s edge, umbrella in hand, hesitating. You shouldn’t go—it’s late, you have homework, and the path will be a muddy mess.
But your feet carry you forward anyway.
By the time you reach the mansion, you’re drenched. Your umbrella has given up completely, and your boots squish with every step. The boys look surprised, except Jake. He moves first.
“You’ll catch something,” he mutters, grabbing your hand and pulling you inside.
You blink at him. “Worried about me?”
His jaw tightens. “Don’t be stupid. Humans are fragile.”
“I’m not.”
“You are,” he says. “And you shouldn’t be here right now.”
“But I wanted to see you.”
That shuts him up.
You step closer, watching the tension in his shoulders.
“You act like I’m some fragile thing,” you murmur.
“But I’m not scared of you, Jake.”
“You should be.”
“Why?”
He looks down, voice rough. “Because I don’t know what I’ll do if I fall for you.”
Your breath catches.
“What if I want you to?”
He lifts his eyes vulnerable, wide, scared.
“I’ve hurt people,” he whispers.
“I trust you.”
“I could lose control.”
“You won’t.”
He steps forward until your breaths mingle.
“You don’t know what you’re asking for,” he murmurs.
“Then tell me.”
The moment hangs, delicate as glass.
But before he can speak, Jay clears his throat from the hallway.
Jake pulls away.
Your chest aches.
That night, he finds you in the music room, your fingers idly playing the dusty piano keys.
“You play?” he asks.
“Not well,” you admit. “But I like the sound of it.”
He sits beside you.
“Do you remember anything from your human life?” you ask.
He pauses. “Only pieces.”
“Like?”
“My mother’s perfume. Rain on the roof. The sound of waves.” His gaze slides to you. “Your voice reminds me of something I forgot I missed.”
You turn to him. “Jake…”
Before you can finish, he presses something into your hand.
A small, worn book.
“Poetry,” he says. “One of my favorites.”
You open it and find a dried flower between the pages.
“I don’t have much,” he says. “But this… this is yours now.”
Your heart clenches.
“Thank you,” you whisper.
Your hands touch. His breath hitches.
“I want to believe,” he murmurs, “that this isn’t a mistake.”
“It’s not,” you say.
He looks at you like he wants to kiss you.
But instead, he stands.
“I’ll walk you home.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER 1
The town of Cendres Hollow is the kind of place that lives in whispers.
Clouds hang low like smoke. Shadows creep where sunlight should fall. The locals wear suspicion like coats; tightly buttoned and frayed with age. Everyone has heard of the mansion on the hill—the one that looms above the woods like a crown of thorns.
You’ve been in town for two days before someone mentions them.
“Don’t go near the forest,” the elderly grocer warns, eyes narrowed as she bags your apples. “That’s where they live. The cursed ones.”
“Cursed?” you ask, more curious than concerned.
“Seven boys. Never age. Never seen in the daylight. They drink blood, child. Blood.”
You blink. “So… vampires?”
She hisses like you’ve just said something filthy.
“Don’t say that word.”
You only smile politely and pay for your groceries.
You’re not the type to believe rumors. You’re also not the type to stay indoors when something piques your curiosity.
Which is how you find yourself walking home late, too close to the edge of the forest. The wind whispers secrets through the trees. Your phone died an hour ago. You should feel uneasy.
But instead… you feel watched.
And oddly… safe.
Until you’re not.
A tall figure steps into your path, face half-hidden beneath a wide-brimmed hat.
“You’re not from around here,” the man says, voice low and gravelly.
You take a step back instinctively, your hand tightening around your bag strap. “No. I’m not.”
“Then you don’t know the rules. Girls like you shouldn’t walk alone at night.”
He steps closer.
Panic flickers in your chest.
Then something blurs in the darkness.
Suddenly, the man is gone—thrown into the bushes with an unnatural crack.
Standing between you and where he’d been is a tall boy with silver-blonde hair, glowing eyes, and a scowl that could cut glass.
“You picked the wrong girl,” he mutters, brushing dust off his long coat.
You gape. “What… just happened?”
The boy turns his head to look at you. His eyes—so pale they’re nearly white—flicker with something ancient.
“You alright?” he asks, voice flat.
“I—yeah. I think so.”
“Good. Then go home. Stay out of the woods.”
“Wait, who—?”
But he’s already gone.
~~~~~~~~~
You come back the next day.
Of course you do.
This time, you bring cookies.
You stand at the edge of the forest, staring up at the towering mansion in the distance. Its pointed turrets scrape the cloudy sky. The iron gate creaks open before you even touch it.
Creepy.
Cool.
You walk the winding path, sneakers crunching on gravel, until you reach the massive door.
It opens before you can knock.
Seven boys stare back at you.
They’re all beautiful in different ways, tall and sharp, soft and brooding, elegant and wild. But there’s something off about each of them. An unnatural stillness. A haunting grace.
“Are you lost?” asks a boy with neat black hair, arms folded. His name, you’ll later learn, is Jungwon.
“Nope,” you say cheerfully, holding up the box. “I brought cookies.”
A pause.
“What the hell is she doing here?” mutters one with sharp cheekbones—Jay, the one who looks like a fallen prince.
“She’s the girl from last night,” says another—tall, warm-eyed, and calm. Heeseung.
You grin. “Yeah. The one who was saved by one of you. That was… you?” You point to Heeseung.
He shakes his head and gestures behind you.
“Jake.”
You turn.
Leaning against the railing, half in shadow, is a boy with tousled honey-blonde hair and eyes like melted amber.
He looks amused. And a little annoyed.
“I didn’t save you for this,” Jake says.
“Didn’t know there were terms and conditions,” you reply.
Jay steps forward. “We’re not… friendly with humans.”
You tilt your head. “Because you think we’ll hate you?”
“We know you will,” Sunghoon says coldly from the stairs, arms crossed.
“Well, that’s a shame,” you say brightly.
“Because I don’t.”
A silence falls.
Jungwon frowns. “You don’t even know what we are.”
“You drink blood. You don’t age. You’re stronger and faster than anything I’ve ever seen.” You pause. “So yeah, I have a pretty good guess.”
Another silence.
Then a snort—from a boy with blonde hair and a mischievous grin. Sunoo.
“She’s serious,” he laughs. “She just brought snacks to a vampire mansion like this is a tea party.”
You shrug. “I didn’t think you guys liked garlic, so I brought chocolate chip.”
Even Ni-ki, the youngest-looking one with crimson-tipped bangs, chuckles.
Heeseung steps aside. “Let her in.”
Jay shoots him a look. “Heeseung—”
“She already knows. Might as well hear her out.”
You walk in, box still in hand. The mansion is gorgeous in an eerie, gothic way. The chandelier above is made of crystal and shadow. The walls hold portraits that seem to watch you.
Jake is the last to move.
He watches you quietly, expression unreadable, before finally turning and walking past you into the grand hall.
They gather in a sitting room that looks straight out of a Victorian novel.
“You really don’t care?” Sunoo asks, perched on the couch.
“About what you are? No.” You take a seat across from them. “I’m not afraid of people unless they give me a reason to be.”
“And what if we’re dangerous?” Jungwon asks, voice low.
“Then I guess I’ll find out,” you say.
Jake finally speaks again. “You’re either brave or stupid.”
“Maybe both,” you say, meeting his gaze.
His lips twitch—a ghost of a smile.
Jay leans forward. “Why come here?”
You hesitate. “Because I’m tired of pretending to be scared of things I don’t understand. And you guys… you’re not monsters. You’re lonely.”
That hits harder than you expect. A few of them look away.
Heeseung clears his throat. “Alright. You can visit. But only here. No wandering the woods alone.”
“Deal.”
Later, as you leave with an empty cookie box and a full heart, Jake lingers at the top of the stairs, watching you go.
“You like her,” Sunghoon says beside him.
Jake doesn’t answer.
“She doesn’t flinch when we talk,” Sunoo adds. “Kind of refreshing.”
“She doesn’t belong in our world,” Jungwon mutters.
“No,” Jake murmurs, eyes still on the gate. “But I want her in it anyway.”

BACK TO FRIENDS !   ──  S. JAEYUN SMAU
Tumblr media
PAIRING: idol!jake x katseye!fem reader
SYNOPSIS: Jake Sim hated messy breakups—but none hurt like the one with Y/N L/N. It didn’t end in betrayal or a blowout fight. It ended with an ultimatum from his band director: leave her, or risk everything—his image, endorsements, and spot in HYBE’s newest boy group. Under pressure, Jake gave in. He let her go, not because he stopped loving her, but because he was too afraid to lose what he’d built. Y/N, meanwhile, rose to stardom in HYBE’s global girl group KATSEYE. Bold, talented, and unapologetically herself, she channeled the heartbreak into music. Fans speculated about the muse behind her lyrics, but she never said a word. She didn’t have to. Her performances bled truth. Then came HYBE’s wildest move yet: to boost engagement, Jake and Y/N would enter a year-long fake relationship for the cameras. The irony? They were being forced to pretend to love each other—when they never truly stopped.
GENRE/WARNINGS: smau plus written parts, exes to friends to lovers, you're stubborn, fluff, crack, kys/kms jokes, friendly bantering, cursing, mentions of alcohol consumption

Katsuki Bakugo x Reader SMAU- Don’t love me for somebody I’m not!
Chapter 4 ( written part down below!) masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WRITTEN PART:
The hospital halls were dim by the time you arrived, a dusky glow settling through the tall windows. Visiting hours were almost over, but you knew no one would stop you—everyone at U.A. had seen the way he looked at you lately.
You quietly opened the door to his room and stepped inside.
Bakugou sat propped up in bed, shirt loose at the collar where fresh bandages peeked out. He turned toward the door, and his face immediately softened.
“Hey,” he said, voice quieter than usual, but warm. There was no scowl. No annoyance. Just… calm.
You smiled. “Hey.”
He held out his hand, and you walked over without hesitation, slipping your fingers into his. His palm was warm, his grip gentle. This version of him—he wasn’t the same boy who used to snap at everyone who got too close. He was different.
And yet, somehow, still him.
“How’re you feeling today?” you asked, pulling a chair closer.
“Better.” He tilted his head toward the open window. “Bored outta my mind. The nurses won’t even let me walk down the hallway.”
You laughed softly, and he gave a crooked grin. That smile—it always caught you off guard. You still weren’t used to it. Bakugou smiling because he wanted to. Not out of arrogance. Just because you were there.
“I had visitors earlier,” he said after a beat, lacing his fingers more securely with yours. “Red hair guy… Kirishima? He came with that loud girl—Mina. They brought snacks.”
You smiled. “That sounds like them.”
He looked down, thoughtful. “They acted like… like we’re close. Like they’ve known me forever.”
You hesitated. “They have.”
“Yeah?” he asked, eyes flicking to yours. “I believe it. They were... I dunno. Kind. Easy to talk to.”
He looked away then, gaze drifting to the shadows gathering near the far wall. “It’s weird, Y/N. I don’t remember a damn thing. Not my friends. Not my teachers. Not… not even myself.”
You squeezed his hand.
“But I’ve been watching people,” he continued. “How they talk to me. How they flinch sometimes, or glance at each other when I say something soft.”
He gave a dry, humorless chuckle. “I think I used to be kind of an asshole.”
You opened your mouth to respond, but he cut in before you could.
“It’s okay,” he said quickly, eyes searching yours.
“You don’t have to lie. I can tell. They’re surprised I’m being nice. You’re surprised too.”
You swallowed hard. “You’re not wrong.”
Bakugou was quiet for a long moment. His fingers brushed across the back of your hand like he was memorizing its shape. “Why was I like that?”
“I… I don’t know,” you said softly. “You were angry a lot. Shut people out. You pushed them away.”
“Including you?” he asked quietly.
You nodded.
His jaw clenched, and he let out a shaky breath. “That’s messed up.”
You shook your head. “You had your reasons. It doesn’t make it okay, but… people still cared. They still do.”
“I don’t get it,” he muttered. “If I was such a jerk, why are they all showing up like we were best friends?”
“Because you mattered to them,” you said. “Even when you didn’t make it easy.”
His eyes flicked to yours again. “And you?”
You blinked. “What about me?”
“Did I matter to you?”
You hesitated, not because the answer wasn’t clear, but because the question cut so deep.
“You still do,” you said, voice barely above a whisper.
A silence passed between you—long and warm and heavy with everything unsaid.
Then he smiled. “I’m glad you’re here.”
That caught you off guard.
You couldn’t help the small, watery laugh that escaped. “You didn’t always say that before.”
He tilted his head, eyes narrowing playfully.
“You’re saying past me was a dumbass.”
You grinned. “I’m saying present you is an upgrade.”
He tugged at your hand then, gently pulling you closer. You glanced up in surprise, and he motioned toward the window where the hospital courtyard stretched just beyond.
“Come on,” he whispered. “Just for a minute.”
You helped him up, careful not to jostle the IV lines. Together, you crept quietly past the nurse station and stepped out into the cool evening air.
The courtyard was empty. Still. The grass felt soft under your shoes as he guided you to the edge where the lawn met a tree.
He lay down first, wincing just a bit, and you followed, resting your head on his chest. His good arm slipped around you, fingers curling lightly over your shoulder.
For a while, you just lay there in silence, feeling his heartbeat beneath your ear.
“I think I like you,” he said, voice barely above a breath.
You shut your eyes.
“I think I like you too.”
The stars were beginning to prick the sky, a breeze carrying the faint scent of grass and rain.
Everything about this felt like a dream—the quiet, the warmth, the softness of him. The way he held you like it was second nature.
Like he didn’t want to let go.
Then—
“OHHHHHHH MY GOD??”
You flinched, heart leaping as a high-pitched voice shattered the silence.
“Is that Y/N?? Laying on Bakugou??” Mina’s voice rang through the courtyard, followed by the flash of a phone camera.
“Broooooo, I thought you were still healing!”
Kaminari yelled, appearing behind her with wide eyes.
Bakugou groaned, dragging his hand over his face. “I’m gonna blow them up. I swear.”
“You say that,” Sero called from the doorway, “but you’re totally blushing right now.”
“I’m not blushing, I’m—” Bakugou paused, scowling. “Okay maybe a little.”
You laughed, pressing your face into his shoulder as the rest of 1-A spilled out into the yard, voices echoing and teasing. And even though he grumbled and glared, Bakugou didn’t let go of you.
He didn’t push anyone away.
Not this time.

Katsuki Bakugo x Reader SMAU- Don’t love me for somebody I’m not!
Chapter 3 (written part down below!) masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Written Part:
The ground shook as you raced through the smoke-filled hallway, your heartbeat pounding louder than the explosions echoing through the air. Every step felt heavier than the last, your legs aching, lungs burning from the soot and panic. Alarms blared through the corridors of U.A., red warning lights flickering off the walls like sirens in a nightmare.
You could hear the distant sounds of Bakugou’s quirk—those rapid, furious blasts that you’d grown used to—but now they filled you with dread. He was fighting back. Of course he was. He’d never run, not even if it killed him.
You skidded into the training center, nearly tripping over fallen debris. The smoke was thicker here, clouds of it swirling like ghosts around your feet. “Katsuki!” you shouted, voice hoarse and desperate.
No answer.
Your eyes stung, and the heat of residual blasts still lingered on the walls. You ducked under a bent metal beam and shoved aside a broken table. Through the haze, you finally spotted him.
Bakugou stood in the center of the room, chest heaving, his uniform torn at the sleeves. His fists crackled with dying sparks of his quirk. And in front of him—looming, eerie, unnatural—was a villain you’d never seen before. They were tall and gaunt, their eyes glowing a haunting green that seemed to pulse with each breath they took. The villain’s body shimmered faintly, like a mirage, as if it didn’t fully belong in this world.
“Katsuki!” you cried again, stumbling closer, ignoring the burning sting of the smoke.
He didn’t look at you. He was locked in, fists clenched, teeth bared.
You saw it before it happened. The way the villain’s hand lifted, a sickly green energy swirling around their palm. They were aiming at him—no, at you.
Everything froze for a second.
You couldn’t move fast enough.
Then, he did.
Bakugou turned, eyes catching yours for the briefest heartbeat. He lunged.
The blast of energy hit him square in the chest.
“No!” you screamed as he collapsed to the ground.
His body hit the floor hard, unmoving, smoke curling around him like a shroud.
You dropped to your knees beside him, grabbing his shoulders. “Katsuki? Katsuki, talk to me!”
Your fingers trembled as you shook him gently. His eyes fluttered, unfocused. You pressed your ear to his chest, desperate to hear his heartbeat over the chaos.
It was there. Faint. But there.
Someone shouted your name—all might maybe. You couldn’t tell. The world blurred as others rushed into the room, chasing the villain away, pulling you and Bakugou out of the smoke and into the light.
Recovery Girl’s face was grim as she scanned the monitors beside Bakugou’s bed.
“He’s stable,” she said gently. “No physical damage beyond a mild concussion.”
Your chest deflated in relief—but then she continued.
“But…the quirk he was hit with was a memory erasing one.”
Your blood ran cold.
Aizawa stepped forward, arms crossed. “Is his memory going to be gone? If so, how long?”
Recovery Girl’s expression didn’t change. “I’m not sure. We will find out when he wakes up. Could be weeks, months, years.”
You sat by his bed for hours, your hand wrapped around his even though he didn’t stir. You tried to remember every word you hadn’t said, every time you’d wanted to tell him how much he meant to you but didn’t.
When he finally blinked awake, your heart leapt. His eyes opened slowly, brows furrowed.
He looked at you like you were a stranger.
“…Who are you?”
You froze.
Your mouth opened, but the words caught in your throat. You swallowed hard and forced a smile.
“I’m… Y/N,” you said softly. “I’m your girlfriend.”
His eyes widened, just slightly. “Seriously? I have a girlfriend?”
You gave a tiny laugh, though it felt like your chest was caving in. “Yeah. It’s… complicated. We’ve been together for a few months.”
Bakugou rubbed the back of his neck. “What happened to me?”
“There was a villain attack and you jumped into save me.”
“I did? Are you okay? You didn’t get hurt right?”
“I’m fine but you lost your memories.”
“Only thing I remember is my name and my parents.”
“I believe your mom is on her way.”
“Was I a good person?”
You hesitated.
You remembered the way he used to brush you off, the way he kept everyone at arm’s length—including you. The way he exploded when things got too real. But you also remembered the way his fingers curled around yours when he thought no one was watching. The way he softened when you were alone. How hard he was trying before all this happened.
You smiled, faintly. “You weren’t the worst. But… you had your rough edges.”
He frowned, looking down at his hands like he wasn’t sure if they were his. “Did I treat other people like crap?”
You chuckled quietly. “Let’s just say… you had a reputation.” You handed him his phone, unlocked and he scrolled through. He felt this weird pit in his stomach seeing how he would respond to others and you of all people.
He looked back up at you then, and for the first time, there was something vulnerable in his expression. Something open.
“I’m sorry that I have been such a jerk,” he muttered.
Tears welled up in your eyes. You squeezed his hand tighter.
“You’re different now,” you whispered.
He blinked, watching you closely. “…Different how?”
You let out a breath, the kind that’s been trapped in your chest for too long. “You… you were trying to be better. Before everything. You were starting to let people in. You were starting to let me in.”
Bakugou stared at you for a long moment, and then his voice dropped low. “Can I start over?”
You nodded, smiling through your tears.
“Yeah,” you whispered. “We’ll figure it out. Together.”

Katsuki Bakugo x Reader SMAU- Don’t love me for somebody I’m not!
Chapter 2 (written part down below!!) masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Written Part:
You lean against the wall outside his dorm room, arms wrapped tightly around yourself like they might hold you together. Your eyes sting, but you blink fast—determined not to let the tears win. It didn’t used to be like this. He used to let you in, sometimes. You’d sit beside him on the edge of his bed, your head resting on his shoulder, fingers brushing in a way that made you feel like maybe—just maybe—you mattered.
But lately, all you feel is cold.
You don’t know why he hasn’t ended things already. Maybe he doesn’t know how. Or maybe… he doesn’t want to be alone either.
You sigh quietly, pushing yourself off the wall. You shouldn’t have come tonight. You should’ve just gone to bed. Just as you turn to leave, the door swings open.
Bakugou stands there in the doorway, hoodie slipping off one shoulder, hair messy like he wasn’t expecting anyone. His crimson eyes land on you, unreadable as always, scanning your face like he’s trying to figure out why you're here.
"You went to Deku’s for dinner,” he says, flat. No greeting. No warmth.
You blink, caught off guard. “…Yeah. I did.”
He doesn’t move aside to let you in. Doesn’t even open the door any wider. He just stares, arms crossed, voice tight. “Why?”
“What do you mean why?” you ask, frowning.
“He invited me. I said yes. We’re friends.”
“Tch.” He scoffs, looking away for a second before locking eyes with you again. “You’re gettin’ real fuckin’ comfortable over there.”
You feel your chest tighten. “Are you serious right now?”
“I don’t like you hangin’ out with nerds like him.”
Your blood runs cold. Your jaw clenches. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me.”
There’s a beat of silence. The kind that comes right before a storm.
“You don’t get to say that,” you snap, stepping forward.
“You don’t get to treat me like a stranger for days, ignore my messages, avoid me in class—and then act like I’m doing something wrong for spending time with someone who actually talks to me!”
He scowls. “It’s not like that.”
“Then what is it like, Katsuki?” you demand.
“Because it feels like you don’t want me around, but then you pull shit like this. Are you seriously jealous of Izuku?”
His jaw tightens, but he says nothing.
“I’m not yours,” you go on, voice trembling now.
“Not officially. You made that really clear.”
“I never said I didn’t—” he stops himself, exhaling sharply. “I’m just… I don’t know how to do this, alright?”
You stare at him, eyes burning. “I didn’t ask you to be perfect. I just wanted you to try. To show me that I matter. That you care. But you don’t. Not really.”
He flinches, just barely, but you see it.
“I was at Midoriya’s because he sees me. Because he asked if I was okay. Because he listened,” you say. “And yeah, maybe he’s a nerd, but at least he doesn’t make me feel like I’m invisible.”
His eyes flicker—something like guilt or maybe anger—but his mouth stays shut. You’re not sure which version of him you're talking to right now. The one who still keeps your toothbrush in his drawer? Or the one who can’t even look you in the eye when you’re hurting?
You take a shaky breath and whisper, “I don’t even know why I keep trying with you.”
The silence is deafening.
And then, when you turn to leave, his voice stops you. Low. Bitter.
“I didn’t ask you to stay.”
You freeze. It cuts deeper than any shout ever could.
You don’t turn around. You don’t let him see how much that hurt.
“No,” you say, voice hoarse. “You never do.”
You walk away.
And this time, he doesn’t follow.
~~~~~~~~~
a/n: sorry for the angst guys 🥲 but it’ll get better soon I promise! Anyways I hope you enjoy this, took a minute to put together. I have the whole story mapped out, just will take time to put the texts and all that together! Next update might be a little late since I have finals this week but see you all soon!
Katsuki Bakugo x Reader SMAU- Don’t love me for somebody I’m not!
Chapter 1 (written part down below!!) masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Written Part:
You sat alone on the dorm rooftop, arms wrapped around your knees as the sun began to dip. Your relationship had started as a joke—classmates teasing both of you about your closeness, the whole “opposites attract” trope.
Bakugou had snapped one day, grabbed your hand, and declared you were dating. You had laughed at first, thinking he was joking.
He wasn’t.
Now, three months in, you weren’t sure what both of you were doing. He barely looked at you in class, brushed you off when you tried to hold his hand, and the few times you were alone, he was quiet, sometimes even angry.
And yet, he hadn’t broken it off.
You sighed, heart heavy. “I wish I knew what you were thinking, Katsuki.”
