He stood behind her silently. The only sounds between them were the soft breeze through the trees and his harsh breathing. He wondered to himself why she was still not facing him. He looked slightly past her. The one responsible stood several feet in front of her. Was she looking at him?
"Go back." The silence between them was broken by her.
"I will not. You can't go with them. Nothing good can come from it," he said. She still did not face him. "Stay with... us. I'll protect you. We'll protect you."
She finally turned to face him. Her face was as impassive as ever, but her eyes easily gave her away. Her eyes were always the windows to her emotions. She narrowed the brown globes at him. “How can you protect me when you can’t protect yourself? Look at you. He's barely broken a sweat and you're struggling to stay upright. I don't need your protection.”
He was taken aback by her words. She could easily protect herself; she was stronger than any of them. While she could protect herself physically, she was so easily mentally broken. She needed to be protected from herself more than any physical attack. He doubt she knew this. Even if she did, she would never admit it. How could he make her see she needed them?
"You can't protect me. Go back. Don't come after me." She turned away from him and started walking towards the other at the top of the hill.
"I'm not letting you..." He stopped mid-sentence and inhaled sharply. He slowly glanced down. There was a shadow protruding through his left lung. He heard their friends scream out his name. Looking back up, he saw her staring back at him. Her eyes met his again. The soft emotion was gone. Anger had replaced it. The solidified shadow retracted from his chest and he fell to his knees. His friends were by his side instantly as he began coughing up blood.
She watched them try and comfort him. "Don't follow me," she said sternly. Her tone was deadly. She turned on her heel and continued up the hill. She did not look back once.
He fought out of his friends' grasp and tried to stand despite the wound in his chest. He attempted to call out to her as she disappeared over the hill. It was futile as all that came out was a whisper accompanied with blood. He fell back to his knees, coughing. Mentally lamenting his failure, he passed out.

I think we all need to pause and appreciate the fact that an entire army of shinobi couldn't stop the Juubi, but 4 DEAD MEN managed to successfully trap it in like 30 seconds. A round of applause for the previous Hokages.

She stared out over the cheering crowd. Her very presence elicited such joy in the masses. Instead of reveling in the love she was receiving, she frowned.
Her advisor stepped up beside her, noticing her change on demeanor. “Is something amiss, milady?” he asked.
"The people," she began, "love me." She said it with such distaste in her voice; as if the very concept disgusted her.
"Is that a problem, milady? The people should love you after everything you’ve done for them. They should worship the very ground you walk on."
She shook her head. “No. I don’t want to be worshipped, I want to terrify.”
Her advisor narrowed his eyes. “Why?”
"I want to be feared. I want my reign to be absolute. I want the people to know that their leader is strong. I want them to know no on and nothing can ever hope to challenge me."
"Your people should not fear you. Fear leads to dissent. Dissent leads to rebellion. Would you want your people to rebel against you?"
She smirked. “They could try. I doubt they would succeed.” She turned around and made her way back inside.
The advisor watched her go before turning back to look out at the crowd below the balcony. The people did adore her. Why would she want to change that? He supposed he would never truly understand the workings of his mistress’ mind.

Prompt 204
The car pulled into the parking space smoothly. Before the car was even in park, the passenger door swung open and a hyperactive blonde jumped out.
"Which way to Party Beach?" she exclaimed.
After finally parking the car, the driver got out with a sigh. He looked over and saw the smiling girl looking around the area with big, blue eyes. “This is going to be the worst mistake I make all summer, I can already tell,” he whispered to himself.
Seconds later, the blonde took off running in the direction of the crowded beach, leaving her partner behind. Rolling his eyes, he made sure the doors were locked and followed after her quickly. He tried not to lose her in the sea of bodies that were crowded around what appeared to be a bonfire of some sort. There was music coming from somewhere and it echoed in the night.
Bumping into a few people, he soon realized that he’d lost track of his charge. He could hear her laughter, but she was out of sight. He called her name a few times but could barely hear himself over the music and chatter of the partying crowd. Then he heard the unmistakable giggle and turned around.
"Lookin’ for me?" she asked. Without waiting for an answer, she grabbed his hand and pulled him towards her. "Dance with me."
And so they danced.
