hey! hot take. sending condescending asks to a largely public figure? not the best move, probably, all things considered. but rallying behind a public figure to spam the shit out of that person, making posts about How Terrible They Are And How Bad That Thing They Did Was, when theyâve already seen the public figureâs reaction (and are probably horrified and already âlearnedâ any âlessonâ there was to learn)? patronizing that person? you guys are... something else. seriously.
if youâre gonna police people on the internet for Not Being Very Nice >:( and then proceed to make more posts about someone and try and parent them on their behavior, calling them as a person shitty, especially when you know tons of other people are also doing it, congrats, youâre a hypocrite. just because someone gets called out for something so minor (seriously. being impolite on the internet? have you been on the internet? the world is not entitled to always be nice to you and never offer critique. putting yourself in the public sphere means you are aware that you will receive critiques. theyâre not going to be nice. it sucks. deal with it.) doesnât mean you now have an excuse to arm yourself to the teeth and Rally In Defense of some random internet celebrity.
nobody owes anyone anything. stop demanding other people act a certain way on the internet. people can, actually, learn things on their own without input.
Reminder that Stonewall wasnât about marriage equality. Stonewall was about police brutality. It was about systemic abuse and subordination. Stonewall was spearheaded by black trans women. As we celebrate Pride 2020, within the context of the Black Lives Matter riots, itâs imperative that we remember that.
Riots in protest of police brutality are the reason that we have more rights today. Do not forget your roots.
You canât celebrate Pride while simultaneously condemning the Black Lives Matter riots and protests that are happening right now. Know your history.
think it is a good time to bring up the fact that the police in the united states of america are not legally required to protect people. that is straight up not part of their job.
furthermore, the united states police system was created largely out of runaway slave roundup patrols, they never existed to protect people, they were created to protect âproperty rights.â
They do not and have not ever existed to help keep folks safe. That is quite literally not even in their constitutional job description.
2. If you get tear gassed, when you get home, put the contaminated clothes in a plastic bag for later decontamination and shower with cold water to avoid opening your pores.
3. Come with friends and don't get separated.
Avoid leaving the crowd and watch out for police snatch squads.
4. Beware undercovers, but beware snitch jacketing and collaborator 'peace police' even more.
5. The far right is very good at combing through pictures and doxxing people. Mask up. Also its covid and with mace and pepper spray bring extra..once its hit with those itll suffocate you and be rendered useless.
6. Write any necessary phone numbers you may need directly on your skin in sharpie.
7. Have an offsite plan for emergencies if you have not been heard from by X time coordinated with someone offsite.
8. Make sure all mobile devices are charged!!
9. If you plan on going to jail, plan it: bail, lawyer, time off from work, witnesses i.e.: a cadre. Don't just go to jail without training.
10. Beware folks inciting violence. Most of them are police feds. Watch out for hook ups for the same reason. Get to know the crowd. They will set you up.
+ Deactivate "touch id" on your iPhone -- they cannot legally force you to open your locked phone via your passcode.
there are currently protestors clashing with police directly in front of the white house. Do not spread any videos of this. Do not spread any photos of this. This goes for all protestors in any city in any state. if you have to share a picture completely block out the entire person, do not blur the image as there is software that can undo blurring.Â
Everyone flipped out when Janus perfectly mimicked Virgilâs voice and posture in S vs S but NO ONE has mentioned the absolute power move that was Roman mimicking Janus with the âOhh, Thomas dropped a nickel in the St Jude charity box, what đ a good đ boy đ you đ are đ Thomasâ with the FACE and EVERYTHING

i humbly request more college advice. what do you do when homework makes you cry? keep trying or give up for the night and play pokemon?
i have nO idea when this was sent so sorry if itâs late anon!!!!
what i do when homework makes me cry- an excellent question tbh. so i think the first thing to realize is why youâre crying. sure, itâs while youâre doing the homework, but whatâs the real issue?
do you not understand the homework? if so, take a break. staring at words you donât understand will only make you feel worse. first, reassure yourself: itâs just one assignment. iâm still an intelligent person. one grade will not make or break me having a successful and happy life. i can get through this. second: do you know where you should start? what equation to use? if so, try and break it down as much as possible. if not, check your notes or the textbook again, or email a prof or TA (or text a classmate!)- it does not matter if itâs 2 pm or 4 am or 30 minutes before the deadline. at least putting yourself out there as âhey, i donât understand thisâ can make you feel better (and if you get some sassy response back- well, theyâre rude lmao, and it means their sense of superiority matters more to them than student success, which means you should care a little less about their class in turn).
are you just overwhelmed by Life Itself? close your eyes and take eight deep breaths. look at something that isnât your screen or the lines of a textbook for a hot minute to rest your eyes. stopping to recharge will always bring a greater benefit than rushing headfirst into more stress. if youâve got the time- take a walk, do some stretches, or just plain go to bed and worry about it tomorrow. i canât tell you how many times iâve thrown up my hands and just Gone To Sleep- and survived the next day. Sure, I may get a bad grade or do worse than i wanted, but Iâm still here, right? college has a way of making you feel like Everything Is The Most Important Thing Ever, but I promise you itâs not. seriously- seriously- ask me how many times iâve fumbled the ball or crashed and burned, and then compare that exhaustive list to my resume. itâs appalling.Â
is something else the problem? if thatâs the case, ask yourself: can i take eight deep breaths and finish this homework, or is this issue worth more to me than X percent of my grade this homework will be? because. surprise!! itâs okay to turn in work late (or even not at all!) sometimes. your professor isnât about to call you out mid-lecture to ask why you didnât do last nightâs assignment. college is about balance and figuring out how it fits together, and sometimes mental health does take precedence.
so i guess to answer your second question- it depends! sometimes i just need to take a drink of water and grab a snack and rest my eyes before powering through. other times, i really do need a break so iâm not burnt out 2 weeks into the semester on a monday. again- college is about balance. sometimes academics just arenât enough to tip the scale in that moment, and anyone who fights you on that has their own life to deal with about it. to me, a degree is worth nothing if youâre utterly ripped to shreds by the time you get it. so take a break every once in a while!! take a nap!!!!!!Â
