For my personal project and end of second year project, i have chosen to work with leather. I am hoping to make this white armour the character Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) wears in the film Gladiator. These are some of the photos which I have taking, to help me re-create it.

Since people often ask “Alright, well this is fantasy! Why can’t we have boob shapes in plate armor?!” I decided to make a post about it. My frustration has nothing to do with historical inaccuracy and I’m all for imagination and freedom— but I’d like to (very quickly) illustrate this for you:

Mad hatter hat, I made a flat pattern and created the base of the hat with buckram. I then covered it in gold Lycra and lace and sprayed with black fabric paint, i masked parts off to create the random look. I then made the scarf and stencils to randomly embellish the ends.
