The Kujo family is such a fascinating mix of horrible energies. I want an anime centered around just them. Perhaps even ten. Also glad I could put you on the Nanase twins! I spend, so much of my time thinking about them. I have so many things to say about them all the time

what r the idolish7 dynamics you think about most and why

I’m a huge fan of the dynamics between the Kujo family + Haruka. I think there’s such an interesting interplay between all of their abandonment issues that makes for a deliciously toxic dynamic. I think the fact that they all crave a normal family structure on some level but also the reason they were brought together is fundamentally incongruous with that fantasy is devastating in the best way. I love that Kujo does care for his children on some level but he also cannot see them as anything but extensions of his dream. I love that Tenn has taken on the responsibility of taking care of everyone even though it’s absolutely not his job. I love that Aya is so desperate to assert her place in the family that she’ll take whatever she can get. I love that Haruka has been forced into the role of an outsider in this dynamic despite being intimately familiar with the family. It’s such a fun and interesting little group I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dynamic like this in a series where it wasn’t like, the point of the story

I’m also of course a big fan of the Nanase twins. First of all, I’m just a sucker for twins. Always been a fan of twins. But also I think the dynamic of having someone who you were attached to for so long, someone who was basically your other half, and then being separated from them is fascinating. I think there’s added factor of you finally meet them again after years, and you realize that in many ways they’re a different person than you thought they were. Or maybe they were only able to change and grow into the person they were always meant to be, but only because you weren’t there. You can never go back to how things used to be, and honestly you don’t want to, but you wish you could wish for that. Also I like the fact that they think they’re both responsible for each other’s traumas. Like the real villain is their parents obviously, they were both children. But they both blame themselves for everything that went wrong in each other’s life and I like that.

Rapid fire dynamics that I’m a big fan of but have much less to say about.

I love 3vale but I feel like most of why I like their dynamic is similar to why I like the Nanase twins dynamic and I don’t feel like repeating myself. And anything I can say about MomoYuki has been said a thousand times before. But they’re good.

I’m also a big fan of Haruka and Tenn on their own. I like their dynamic within the larger Kujo family but also I think it’s fun how they go from one sided rivals to genuinely admiring each other.

On that note I’m gonna stick Ryuu Mina and Tora all in one group for all of their individual dynamics but also as a group. I just love in idol media whenever a character is a fan of another character

Nagi and Riku heal my soul on a fundamental level every time they talk but also the depth given to their dynamic in part 4 was beautiful.

I love Pythagoras, part of it is my wife’s influence but even outside of that I love how they balance each other out and keep each other moving forward.

Shiro and Zool (more specifically Haruka) are very cute to me. I think it’s good that Zool got someone who wholeheartedly believed in them after Ryo.

On that note, I do really like Ryo and Shiro. They got divorced and Shiro got all the kids. I love divorce!

I think it’s really cute how Tenn spoils Tamaki. He is her favorite person and it’s cute.

Do you think, after Trigger left Yaopro and was cut off from all the resources they'd had up until then, Ryuu had to learn how to style his own hair? And how to make it look just as good as it did by a professional, because to do any less would be an insult to Trigger's image.

Ryuu, who, when left to his own devices as a fisherman's son, left his hair natural and straight and hanging in his eyes. It was probably damp with sea water most of the time anyway, there was no need for him to learn to style his own hair.

And then he came to Tokyo and joined up with Trigger, and there were people to do that for him, who made sure that every hair was perfect before he went out on stage or on screen, who plucked and primped him until he was celeb-pretty and hardly recognized his own reflection. The perfect Ero-ero Beast that Yaopro had constructed. He hated it, at the time. Having his looks twisted beyond recognition by some stranger, until his own brothers probably wouldn't know if he passed them on the street.

But now, staring into the mirror in his too-big apartment, trying to get ready to face the world in the wake of his scandal, comb in one hand and hairspray in the other (was it mousse that they always used in his hair? or gel? he should have paid more attention), he wishes he had someone there to help him through it again.

Tenn helps him, I'm sure, once he moves in. He knows what he's doing, for the most part. But Ryuu's hair is thicker than his own, coarser, and while he makes it a point to know beauty practices as a general rule (it's only reasonable, in this business), he's far from an expert, and Ryuu's hairstyle is deceptively complex.

Anesagi is a real boon, when she rejoins them though. She knows just what to do. If not for her, Ryuu would've probably had to rebrand his image, at least until they were able to afford a proper stylist for him again

Yotsuba Tamaki really is just a traumatized kid.

I feel like I forget he’s just a high schooler sometimes and he’s gone through so much. The fact that he’s so afraid that he’s going to lose Osaka is really in character for him because everyone he’s ever loved before has left him INCLUDING his sister who made that decision even after he found her. This has led him to put how he feels onto Osaka and assuming that Osaka feels the same way about reconciling with his family as Tamaki does.

In reality, Osaka wants acceptance, Tamaki wants solidarity.

Tamaki’s character used to annoy me because of how childish and immature he acts, but I’ve gotten to the point where I realize that he never actually got to grow up.

On the inside, he’s the same scared little kid that was mistreated by his father, watched his mother die, and watched his sister get taken away.

He was still living in an orphanage before he joined Idolish7.

Most likely he’s never even had time to heal from those back-to-back tragedies.

Yeah. I think it was because they wanted to establish a pattern of behavior for Kujo but didn’t have that many artists so Satoshi was used, but I decided to use that for yaoi purposes
