what is truth?
as jesus sat in his jail cell, pontius pilate asked him, "are you the king of the jews?"
jesus said, "so you say i am."
to which pilate mused, "what is truth?"
the crowd outside was awaiting to hear pilate's judgment. pilate went and addressed the crowd. he said, "this man is innocent."
the crowd didn't care. the very people that welcomed jesus into jerusalem with palm branches just a few days earlier now cried, "crucify him!"
pilate responded "why? what evil has he done?"
the crowd still did not care. "crucify him!" they yelled.
pilate washed his hands with water in front of the crowd. "i am innocent of this man's blood. you will see."
you see, in the end, it wasn't rome that killed jesus. it was his fellow jews.
people can be so fickle.
