As the head researcher into pokémon language, I can confirm as such that there are individuals who can talk to and fully understand pokémon. — 🍃

I, myself, can understand a lot of pokémon to a comfortable extent and a good handful fluently, especially the lines of my team members. Most notably, every Eeveelution. — 🍃

One of our region's residents, Oliver Swanburg, can not only understand all pokémon but fully understand their emotions too. — 🍃

Because I swear there's a blog on here with a girl who was raised by Pokémon who can talk to them because of it as one of the main speakers in it. Her sisters (who are also on the blog) have likely seen it happen and could probably back it up.

Pretty sure she actually met her world's version of N and they became fast friends over this, actually.

understand pokemon - yes. actually speak to them as if they're speaking galarian - no. the champion knew exactly what his charizard's roars and growls meant, but he still didn't pretend that he could properly speak with pokemon. because that would be weird as fuck.
