Let me tell you 'bout my best friend... So, my belly has been extremely sore lately due to ligaments stretching and such (thanks, Baby Wyatt). I took Tylenol on days when it was excruciating, but I don't want to take meds when I'm preggers! So, I dug this out of my Family Physician Kit and decided to give it a go. Just dropped a couple drops in my hand and rubbed it where it's been sore (lower belly). Can you say "fast-acting"?? Wow!!! It's like icy cool relief. #naturalremedies #doterra #essentialoil #deepblue #pregnantprobs #pregnanthealth

Happy Friday! Finally able to drop some Lemon in my water! Lemon naturally cleanses the body and aids in digestion (hello, prego probs). It also promotes a positive mood and cognitive ability! Make sure if you do so, use a glass cup/jar/bottle to drink from. Plastic and oils don't mix! :) #doterra #healthymommy #essentialoil #essentialoils #lemon #happyfriday

"Deep Blue soothing blend is the solution for sore muscles and joints. Once gently rubbed into the areas of discomfort, Deep Blue's cool therapeutic benefit will be felt almost immediately. How do you use Deep Blue?" A fitness lover's favorite, Deep Blue is great for post-workout relief (helloooo leg day!) or even that "hurts so good" morning after soreness. Use the oil or you can even buy the Deep Blue rub as an all natural alternative to other sports rubs. #doterra #essentialoil #essentialoils #fitnessrelief #putyourfeetup

Pregnant? Check.  Clueless? Check!
Hi! My name is Victoria Louise and I am a soon-to-be first-time mommy.  Terrifying--right?!  I am the oldest of three, so I've had "some" experience with babies, but not so much recently.  Therefore, I research.  A lot.  My research has become this awkward journey of sifting through the opinions, advice, and "tips" to find facts--actual, scientific facts.  I'm not someone who falls for the "movements."  I want to know what's best for my child, prenatally, as a newborn, and for the years to come.
One of the things I was guided to check out was essential oils and their everyday substitution uses.  Essential oils, huh?  So, what... am I going to cradle my naked baby as I sit on a yoga mat with candles lit and meditate?  Um.  No.  I wasn't completely sold.  It sounded like a movement.  As I've said, movements aren't my thing.  I want facts.  Then... I found facts.  You could say I found a plethora of facts.  Essential oils?  Yes, please!
Some of the things that I have found are that they are safe and completely natural.  This is a huge thing for me.  When I was a baby--and well into my early childhood--I had extremely sensitive skin.  I suffered from severe eczema and was allergic to everything: soaps, lotions, laundry detergent, bubble bath (tragic), and even the things that were meant to soothe my rashes and irritations!  All of the pictures from that time feature bright red patches on what should have been perfect, baby skin.  This is one of my fears for my unborn baby... so, I was thrilled to find out all of the healing powers (sounds cosmic, but it's legit) of essential oils!
Freaking Amazing Essential Oils for a Happy Baby
Breathe Respiratory Blend—Apply alone or with a carrier oil onto the chest to open airways
Basil—Gently apply on the ear with a cotton ball, avoiding the ear canal, to help relieve earaches.
DigestZen Digestive Blend—Massage clockwise onto an upset tummy or rub on the bottoms of feet.
Roman Chamomile—Soothes irritated skin
Lavender—Calming, relaxing, and soothes irritated skin
Melaleuca—Soothes irritated skin and has strong anti-fungal properties
Do you see how many are for "irritated skin?!"  Heck.  Yes.
Anyway, the point.  I'm getting there.  I don't know a lot about essential oils yet--I'm not going to lie to you, it's not my style.  HOWEVER!  I am starting this journey, and I am committing myself to sponge-hood.  Ready to learn about these with me?  Yes.  Your answer should be "yes."
Why doTERRA, specifically?  Well, the only way for essential oils to have these awesome healing, soothing, relieving properties is for them to be 100% pure.  Obviously, I don't want to ingest nasty fillers/chemicals when I'm trying to do things the "natural" way, right? doTERRA oils are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade--legit.  So, I've decided to jump on board the essential oils train, learn, use, and spread the good news!  All the while, I will be proving their awesomeness by using them on myself, my hubby, and my baby when he comes--I'm THAT convinced!
So... follow me, learn with me, and if you want to experiment, too, please do!  Share your findings!  Let's make our homes more natural and safe for ourselves and our families.
For now, thanks for reading, and I'll be back with more very soon!
Essentially yours,
Victoria Louise
