Unfortunately the racist incels already have negative shit to say about Iron Heart without even WATCHING IT. Like I'm so tired man, these people are lame asf. How you gon be mad that a BLACK WOMAN HERO is getting her shine? Hopefully Ryan, Dominique, and the rest of the cast know how many people love the series so far

N.A.T.A.L.I.E is an amazing AI, and I'm so ready to know why she remembers stuff that technically didn't happen to her. I understand Riri did a brain scan so it's part of that but she feels so real😭

Pairing: Shuri x Black!Fem!Reader
Content: a lil bit of angst, fluff
Summary: Life has been amazing so far, but when your worries keep you up late at night you search for a distraction. Who could've known this would be the night where you and Shuri finally take the next step in your relationship, and all it took was three words.
Note: uhm this is my time writing ANYTHING like this, so I hope whoever sees this enjoys it! (Also please excuse any mistakes, I was working on this late 😞)
You were on your balcony smoking a blunt, the wind calm and the city quiet. You were supposed to be sleeping next to Shuri, but relaxation never came. The plan was supposed to be easy: slip out from under her arms, have a quick smoke, then crawl back into her embrace and go to sleep. Of course it didn't play out like that.
Everything in your life had been amazing recently. You became Shuri's girlfriend, secured your dream career, bought your first high-rise apartment, and made a solid group of friends. It felt too good to be true, like it all came with a price you didn't know about, and that scared you. You had been outside for 10 minutes too long, and Shuri woke up. She looked around in the dark when she felt your absence in the bed. Though, she didn't have to wonder where you were at, because the smoke from the blunt was like a trail straight to you.
"sithandwa, what's wrong?"
Shuri's voice shocked you out your trance and you put out your blunt. You turned around and admired her. The curls that were once neat were now frizzy, and her fit form visible in the moonlight was covered with a sports bra and pyjama pants. She never failed to stun you with her beauty. Sometimes you wonder what you ever did to deserve her, but the only answer you can think of was fate
She walked up to you and wrapped her arms around your waist. The eye contact she held with you made you feel lightheaded. "Shuri, I'm scared," you whispered. "Everything is amazing, but I feel as though it comes with a cost I'm unaware of." Your eyes started to sting and you felt your chest tighten. "The thought of losing you, my friends, and my success is killing me inside." Shuri started to rub circles on your back as tears slid from your eyes, the emotions you fought to hide were now on display.
She took a hand off your back to wipe away your tears. "Do you know why I chose you?" You shook your head, attentive to what she had to say. " I chose you because you're everything I've dreamed of, hard working, gentle and kind enough to give others grace," She said as a bright smile graced her features. "Everything you have now you deserve because you continue to be yourself without shame, and none of it you will ever lose."
You let out a chuckle as she leaned forward, foreheads touching. Her hands went back to their rightful place on your waist, and their presence grounded you. "Y'know Shuri, you seem to know all the right things to say," You said as the tears and tightness in your chest vanished as if they never existed. Your hands held onto her biceps, only parting when she moved backwards to fully take you in.
Your smell, beautiful face, and body in your nightgown was enough to make her fold. The way she felt towards you was unique. Something she had never felt for any other woman shes been with. She adored you for being you, your personality, quirks, even the little things you liked that brought the slightest shimmer to your eyes. She made sure to remember every detail. Her silence was odd and you felt shy under her gaze. "What, do I have something on my face?" You said with a shy smile, but she never responded to your comment, only looked at you like something was on her mind.
"Y/n..I love you."
Time seemed to stop. Shuri's gaze into your eyes softened even more than before, awaiting your reply. You were shocked and looked at her with surprise. "Baby, I love you too." Before you could blink her lips and hands were on you. Her mouth fit yours perfectly, and her hand around your neck left you feeling flustered. The kiss was heated, desire and devotion engraved in the way both your tongues danced.
The kiss broke, and you were both out of breath. As you and her held eye contact you both started to laugh. The once sad atmosphere was replaced with love. All you could do was look into her eyes and imagine the future the both of you would have together. Shuri's kiss to your cheek brought you back to reality. "Let's head to bed sithandwa." She led you into the room, and you both got wrapped in the blankets. Both of your limbs were tangled together, no distinct end or beginning. Sleep found you easy now, and a happy heart accompanied it.
