❝ There’s some apples left, what about cooking an apple pie together? ❞
Secretly spoiling Laphicet is always a special moment. When she is close to the child, her innermost emotions are awoken, in a good & bad way. & she is kind of grateful for that.
He turns, shocked by both her sudden appearance and the suggestion. The little malak had simply been gazing out to the great blue of the sea with little to do. Trying his best to see any fish beneath, but to no avail. The idea sounds nice to him, and he brightens at the thought of doing it with Velvet.
“R - really?”

break-soul:
This place was always a little too close to home for Velvet’s liking, but if they were required to be here for whatever reason, she was dragged along. So long as she didn’t have to do anything with those stupid Katz and it didn’t prevent her from her ultimate goal. Normally what the others did, didn’t matter, but she learned some level of patience soon enough and held care for them too.
Phi wanted to check out that small bookstore while they were here, and she never could say no to the little spirit. He was the one who broke the lock over her heart, as she had done the same for him. They really did share that brother and sister bond, but they were technically family, even if they never really went into that, the connection didn’t disappear or change.
“Phi, the store is here.” as she moved a hand to his shoulder to stop him from wandering off elsewhere. “Stick with me or I’ll end up losing you.” the cliff-side capital of Taliesin was a big place and it was easy to get lost in with all of the confusing turns and numerous stairways leading to who knows where.
It’d been a difficult life they lived, huh? Fearful of the demons that wore the white and gold, a symbol of the Abbey.. Velvet isn’t afraid, or at least he thinks so. But Laphicet is, he doesn’t want to become a tool. He’s only begun to live, to understand and to feel emotions that would have been shut off. They didn’t see Malaks as beings worthy of being equal, just pawns to use in the fight against daemons.
Laphicet wants to learn more about the world he’d been prevented from learning of. That had been shut off to him, so upon entering the town does he give a request. He had saved up some money, enough for at least one book depending on what he got. Eizen had given him pointers, he had a rough idea...
“Oh!” He perks, turning to her. Eizen may have given them pointers on how to find a good book, but his sense of direction was something to be desired. Ironic how his most prized possession was a compass, yet it was likely that his thinking was what got him in trouble.. “Okay!”

The feeling is soft, it flows nicely through his fingers. Laphicet isn’t so sure why this is. It was a common thing among malaks.. At least he thought so. Sorey’s hair was nice, and so was Eizen’s! The elder didn’t mind Laphicet’s curiosity.. Or at least, he hoped not!
He perks slightly, moving away slightly. Truth be told, Laphicet wasn’t so used to the kindness of others. Especially this man, he was quite.. Ah.. Excitable? “Thank you..”
Laphicet frowned, pressing his knuckles to his lips as he pondered the question. Cheeks redden in embarrassment, unsure how to really.. Do what Sorey asked of. It was something he’d never done before. Or at least, that he could remember. “I don’t know if I’ve done that before.”
The glee from the boy is obvious, and Sorey isn’t so sure why his hair is so fascinating– he never truly saw it as anything of beauty or value, but he wont judge the younger either. He’s glad if something so small can bring a smile to his face.

“Laphicet, huh? That’s a nice name. It’s a pleasure to meet you!” He chirps happily.
Giving it a bit of thought, he hums before speaking up again. “You know what would be fun? If we could do each other’s hair! Would you like to?” He suggests excitedly.

“Apples, huh? I’m sure the merchant in town has some fresh produce. Let’s head down there.”
‘Asbel, what do you truly expect to do with this child?’
“It’s nothing, Lambda. I can’t leave him here.” A hand reached out for Laphicet’s, holding it in his own to lead him to the town square and ultimately to the merchant in question. Without a single hitch, the merchant hands over a bag of apples, and in turn, Asbel hands the young boy one.
“Here you go.”
Laphicet grew confused at the hand that took his, it wasn’t an action that he was used to.. In fact, Velvet was the only person who ever did. Though rarely did she preform the action, mostly just to pull him out of the way.
He glances around as Asbel led him to the town square. This place seemed nice.. At least, that’s what he guessed. The little Malak had little ideas of the world around him. He doesn’t want to recall why.
A soft noise slips through as the apple is presented to him. Slowly do little hands take the red fruit, and he gazes at it hungrily. His stomach growls, yet he needs to ask.
“C - Can I eat it? Is it for me?”

It seemed the young boy was a bit bashful when it came to attention, feeling the retreat away from his hand. “E-erm… sorry if that was a bit awkward for you, Laphicet.” He moved his hand back. “Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat? What do you like?”
At the retreating of the hand, Laphicet looks up at Asbel with olive’s reflecting a sort of shyness. The other is kind, Laphicet can tell that much. Yet at the mention of food, his stomach roars and in turn does his face increase in redness.
“M - me? Oh! I like, apples.. A lot.”

He can’t help but release a small chuckle at the other’s reaction– yet a bit of worry lingers aswell. He does hope it is only because of shyness, and not of anything harsh that has happened to the boy.
At the quiet admission, Sorey hums.
“Oh? I like your hair too.” He moves his hand, pulling the ponytail over his shoulder so the other could see it better.
“You can touch it if you want to.” He offers.
Eyebrows perk slightly, unsure as to why the other would like his hair. It was quite simple, yet was there a sort of charm in simplicity? Laphicet isn’t so sure..
Yet when offered, a sort of delight greets Laphicet’s eyes at the idea. A hand reaches out, and gently do fingertips brush along the other’s locks. He’s happy, and it’s very pretty! Soft too, very much like Velvet’s.
Then it hits him. He hadn’t been mannerly, had he? He retracts his hand, hesitant before looking up at Sorey. “L - Laphicet. My name’s Laphicet.”

“Huh… Well… yeah, I’d think so,” Asbel answered, not actually sure about it himself. “I’d like to think that my bond with this friend is strong, too.” He smiled at the boy, a hand landing on his head. Oh! But he didn’t even know his name yet. How to get distracted, Asbel.
“So, what’s your name, huh? I’m Asbel. Asbel Lhant. I’m the Lord of the this town.”
Thought so..? Perhaps this stranger didn’t know? The world was big from his own understanding.. It would make sense not to -
A quiet noise slips through his lips at the hand on his head, and he ducks his head down as if it was pressed upon. Truth be told.. Laphicet wasn’t sure how to react to the action that Asbel had presented.
“L - Laphicet.”

The stare of the younger boy catches his eye, glancing over to the small blond in curiousity. The boy almost appeared to be..afraid, yet he wasn’t running away either. Perhaps he was curious about something?
Smiling softly, Sorey takes a step closer, leaning down slightly. Appearing as non-threatening as possible.
“Hi there. Is there something you need? My name’s Sorey.” He holds out his hand.
A quiet eep sounds as he nears, Laphicet moving to hide his face behind his hands. A weak means of hiding, but he cannot help it. He has powerful artes, yes but.. The malak is only a child in mind, and knows not how to defend himself against the unknown.
Only to hide and pray it went away..
Yet he does not flee, and olives peek from the cracks of his fingers to look at the stranger. Slowly does he pull his hands away, and stare at the one offered..
Sorey..
“I - I... I like your hair..”

Oh, his eye is what he’s questioning? The male gave the younger boy a bright smile, shaking his head softly at his curiosity and perhaps misunderstanding. “No, no, it’s alright, you’re fine, and I am too,” Asbel began. “My eye isn’t damaged and I’m not hurt.” The issue was, how was Asbel to explain this to him without confusing him… He pondered for a moment.
“It’s because I have a bond with a very close friend that my eye is like this. It’s a testament that he still is with me that my eye is this color.” Was that too confusing? Asbel surely hoped not.
The little malak listens to Asbel, eyes wide. So he wasn’t hurt? That was good.. And that meant that the person wasn’t upset with him asking a question. That was also good, it furthered his understanding a little. Humans were such.. Odd things, yet so were Malakim...
“Oh! Does that mean it get’s stronger with a stronger bond?” What a cool ability!

@grandshepherd liked for a starter
There was a lot of things that caught his attention about the stranger.. Yet perhaps what was most eye catching was the hair. Long and beautiful, it reminded him of Velvet which offered a small feeling of safety..
Yet upon realizing that the stranger noticed him, Laphicet backed away slowly. Hoping that he wouldn’t speak to the young malak.

@xholyknight continued from x
"What happened to your eye? Are you okay?” The question is asked with care and curiosity. Laphicet wishes to know, yet was it acceptable to ask such a thing? He was only a child that’d been prevented from growing in a healthy manner..
The boy had missed out on much.

Take this quiz and find out! It’ll have you check off all traits that you think apply to your muse, then calculate a color. There are over +139 available results! Feel free to reblog with your result and compare with others!
Your dominant hues are cyan and blue. You like people and enjoy making friends. You're conservative and like to make sure things make sense before you step into them, especially in relationships. You are curious but respected for your opinions by people who you sometimes wouldn't even suspect. Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan. Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.
What color is your muse? What color are you?

Compass was definitely more than precious to them. If he had to take a guess, it was likely their most treasured item with how they regarded it in that moment. Jude had that exact same expression, that exact same look when he was going over his necklace that she gave him. Something in the physical world he cared so much about and it wasnt a book of all things for once.
This kid or… were they a kid? It was immediately giving Jude the ‘I need to help them and make sure they are okay’ vibes. He just had a real soft spot for helping people in need… That do-gooder attitude of his. “Y-You dont have to bow..! I’m sorry too.” he was also partly at fault, but now that the apologies had been given on both ends, they could move forward from that point.
But the more Jude watched this kid, the more he could notice things… They carried a lot of mana, at least it felt like mana… There was no way they were a spirit however. They couldnt be since they were far too human for that. Though he still wondered where that fear came from, and why the younger had to feel like that for even a moment… Jude never wished that feeling on anyone.
“Laphicet?” an unusual name. “It’s nice to meet you.” hopefully things would go more smoothly from here on out. However, it was sad to hear that they got seperated from their friends. If luck would have it, some of them were older and they looked after him well! “Your friends..? When was the last time you saw them? Do you remember? I can help you until then? I wouldnt want to leave you all on your own out here.” mana or not, they were just too young, and they needed help!
The compass was very important. An essential item that had brought him close to those he’d found. In fact, it was part of who he’d become. What had led him to become who he was after.. Stealing it from Velvet, but he did give it back! Although, part of him wished he had kept it since she’d accidentally thrown it off the boat.
Not her fault...
Laphicet cocked his head at the other’s insistence but said nothing. Did people bowed when they said sorry? Or was that a thing of books? Written in times long past perhaps, or of a recent writer who wished to change the world with clever words. If making an Orchard didn’t work, perhaps a writer would suit Laphicet far more?
He nodded in confirmation, though didn’t seem to notice the odd clothing Jude wore. People wore weird clothing all the time.. His fashion sense was likely different from everyone else. Not that those he traveled with had the best sense of fashion. Laphicet knew little of the concept anyway.
“L - last time I saw them.. Um..” He held the compass close, the cool gold material pressed under his bottom lip as a means of grounding. Olive’s glanced around, frowning slightly as he tried to think. “We got separated in town when the Abbey showed up.. I - I don’t know if they’re waiting at the boat.”
