I’m going to finish some appreciation posts that I have in my drafts for the rest of skz, and then I think I’m going to start working on some bigger projects which I’m very excited about. I’m also going to start writing for other groups! (Maybe that ateez side blog I talked about for so long... we’ll see)

Days like today have started to feel like commonplace. The feeling of..well, feeling nothing, is stirring in your chest. Nothing seems to excite you.

The tv is on, but as you sit on your couch you just can’t bring yourself to pay attention to the plot of this drama.

Your phone is going off, constant notifications lighting up the otherwise dim living room. You turn your phone over, not wanting to see the bubbles popping up on your screen.

You can hear your neighbors on their patio, enjoying the nice weekend dinner that they had invited you too, but declined because you didn’t feel as if you’d make an interesting contribution to the small talk.

So many thoughts, but also no thought at all.

You weren’t sure if you were imagining the approaching footsteps coming from down the hall, but your contemplation stopped once those very real foot steps turned into the sound of a key in your lock, and someone entering through your doorway.

Chan walks into your living room, noticing you on the couch. You’re sat in front of the tv but he can tell you’re not focusing on it. He knows today has been one of your bad days, hell, one of your bad weeks. You haven’t been answering his texts, or any of the boys’ texts for that matter. You always answer at least one of them, but it was nothing but radio silence from you today. Concern filled his entire body once he realizes what’s happening. He can’t stand to see you like this, someone so often filled with joy feeling hopeless. The usual light that he admires in your eyes has been stripped from them, and as much as he wants to try and make you laugh, or smile, anything to bring it back, he knows what you need.

You just need him.

No talking, no trips out anywhere, no silly jokes or comedy or impressions. No over-analyzing or no late night drives-turned-therapy sessions. All you need is someone with you. Chan with you. He’s always been your home, ever since you were little. The only person around you who understands these kind of days, the only one who doesn’t push you to talk about anything. The only one who knows that he just needs to sit beside you and let you feel what you need to. So that’s exactly what he does.

Taking off his shoes, Chan takes a spot next to you on the couch. You can feel it dip with his weight, but you make no move to look at him. The only thing you can bring yourself to do is continue to stare at the television as your brain tries to push you to speak. You can’t, though. You simply don’t have the energy to form words. And Chan gets this, sliding close to you and pulling you into his side. You can smell his cologne, and it’s comforting to you. A reminder that even when you feel like you have no one, you have him.

You fall asleep on the couch, once your eyes can no longer take being open and your muscles feel so weary that you have no desire to move towards your bed. The last thing you remember is the feeling of Chan’s hands in your hair, playing with it absentmindedly as he’s absorbed in a movie on tv. You silently thank him, knowing that regardless of days like these, weeks like these, he’ll always be there, silently cheering you on.
