Changing Perspectives (P.1)

Whenever I think about Marcanne, I always think of those two faces of adoration these two gave to one another at two specific episodes: Marcy at the Gates, and Bessie and Microangelo.

Now, I could show those faces and be done with it, right? But I’m not going to do that.

What I’m going to do is actually start from the beginning, since if we want to understand why these specific faces are so important to me, I would have to deep dive into Anne and Marcy’s mini-arc when it comes to redefinition and perspective — about how these two started to redefine who they are to one another as people now that they’d supposedly grown and changed in Amphibia, shedding past pre-Amphibia dynamics to something new.

However, in doing this analysis, I want to not only show what these dynamics could become in the allowance of genuine growth and honesty, but what happens when unspoken grievances create enough build-up for those people in that same dynamic to break their trust…badly.

I would like to give a shout out to @/pyroclastic727 for making this specific post that inspired me to do this. Not only did it showcase how interesting of an interpretation this post is when it came to looking at these two from a mindset perspective, but ultimately see how this interpretation changes the angle of framing when it comes to specific episodes.

And, of course, since this is a Marcanne analysis, do be warned that a lot of what I analyzed could be biased toward that certain interpretation, and I don’t want to showcase my sayings as canon but just speculation/analysis from a specific perspective.
