also, unrelated but I want to draw Thatch. This post is for my reference so I'll remember what to take inspiration from.

I love how this artist drew Thatch's hair. It's so flowy, while also keeping the shape of a general rectangle? It sounds so silly but I love how shapely it is. It's in the back of my head for a while.

(side note: I just love this artist's style! It's so sketchy and they tend to make the Whitebeard men especially masculine and handsome, especially against the women they draw (their self-insert, perhaps). Something about their line work is really giving those old school pen drawings.. I love it. their marco makes my heart flutter and burn)

This morning, I got addicted to Heart Burn by Sunmi, more specifically a couple stills from the mv. I live for her bright orange hair, rich-estate-esque ever green gardens populated by a few flowers and the slight hazy sunshine in some stills.

From here, I thought it'll be cool to maybe draw Thatch as a rich man? He has red hair? Why not give it a shot.

Maybe he's playing with a dog, looking like the ideal husband in a white shirt that's a bit too tight. He loves playing with dogs, big dogs especially and he's an absolute sweetheart. Sometimes though, you catch him looking at you a bit weirdly like he wanted to kill you. In those moments, it's like the sweet husband you knew never existed.

Scary but yknow what? Let's do it!! I only have 1 drawing of him for this project heh

I love going to people's tumblrs and seeing what they ramble about, the fan art they post and all their self-ships/ocs/ships. Girl, it makes me happy. I love the delusion and passion that goes into engaging with fandoms. It just shows me that people can love things without any financial incentives—just pure drive and aura.

i just read a delightful imagine on twitter.. op used initials like (tl or yl) to represent the names and so i thought they were referring to pre-existing fictional characters/their ocs whatever. i read the whole thinking, 'wow how lovely'

until i scrolled to see the recommended posts. suffice to say... i just read nct fan fiction. still lovely though. i was just surprised.

I redrew the shirt portion and his silly pompadour. I think this version fits his design better, even if I have to move the front portion a bittt more to fit the perspective.

But yeah, not too bad. Let's start thinking about the set design!

Had (1) day of sick leave so I decided to spend a good chunk of time drawing Izou.
