Rae in her guise as a cleric of the Raven Queen by the amazingly talented Toby Sharp. One day I’ll make an AU where she actually is the Matron’s cleric because the aesthetic is great and in a different life she’d have chosen a different goddess.

Rae’s travelling companion is Nuria ‘Nuri’ Ashborn, a phoenix sorcerer (and later archfey warlock) whose mother made a pact with Desirat after being plagued by dreams in Kamordah following her father’s death. A quarter elf, a supposedly elegant and composed woman until one gets to know her, Nuria’s actually a lot more awkward than she lets on and has a bit of a  saviour/hero complex. A fan of poetry, trinkets with morose connections and the Wildmother, who’s on a mission to destroy Desirat’s hold on her mother...it’s looking more and more likely that this mission won’t have a happy ending. 

She and Rae probably wouldn’t travel together under normal circumstances but are united by a love of poetry and similar desires to protect people.

could you tell us some headcanons you have for raeni and the recent cr episodes?

I'm dumb and read this as Raeni in the endgame so don't mind me! Rae's not exactly Nein-aligned so she's going through her own stuff!

She's on her own adventure (connected to my Phoenix Sorcerer) to neutralize (but not kill) an Undying Warlock of Desirat as part of her pact to destroy the terrors of the night, though she's kind of just...roped into it. I want to say they're struggling due to bad class composition their own lack of synergy.

So as of recent CR episodes, she's kind of going through a realisation that she can't save everyone, she's naively believed that monsters don't count, but when a person is more humanoid the idea they could be a monster becomes more alien to her. Some people are beyond redemption and she's kinda...failing in a way that's giving her a minor faith crisis.

Despite that, even where it's frowned upon she's becoming a little bit more open about her devotion to the Moonweaver, it's a quiet confidence, a part of the reason she hid, other than it being illegal to worship in the Empire is due to her own hang-ups that she's somehow failing her biological parents in her choice of who to worship.

In her actual endgame endgame, she's opening up that inn she's dreamed of opening up in Nicodranas, it's probably called the Maiden's Rest or something along those lines. It's her pride and joy.

Rae’s relationship with the Raven Queen is an odd one, she’ll always revere the goddess of death on some level and in another time and place, one where she’d been raised by her biological parents, she might’ve been a cleric of said deity. But Raeni’s a dumbass romantic who appreciates beauty and as such, the Moonweaver will always have her heart.
