#my oc can relate
hi, a lot of you need a perspective reset
the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years
taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult
at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)
'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65
it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age
it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.
you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.
young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!
there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big

Thought for the Day - May 10th
Thought for the Day
As a servant of the Light, we strengthen our faith not only through our own devotion but by guiding others toward its radiance. Yet, we must remember that it is not by our own hand that salvation is granted. We are but humble vessels, sharing the path we have walked, and if another finds the Light through our words, it is by the divine grace of one's faith, not our own deeds. Our faith grows when we witness another embrace the Light, and so we must begin each day in silent reflection, seeking its strength to walk the righteous path.
Meditation for the Day
The senses bind us to the physical world, tethering our hearts to the struggles of mortal life. But when we seek true communion with our Faith through the Light, we must quiet our thoughts and still our senses, letting go of the burdens of the material realm. In silence, in peace, we may hear the sacred whisper of the purpose of our Faith, a melody that guides us toward wisdom and purpose.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that my spirit may align with my Faith. May my faith be steadfast, my heart open to its guidance. Through devotion and communion, may I find the strength to walk its path with honor and courage.

Thought for the Day 3/3
Edict of the Light
Once I have sworn my oath and laid down my burdens, the weight of my past is no longer mine to carry—it rests now in the hands of my Faith. My duty is clear: I must never grasp for it again. Leave it to the Light. When temptation arises, whispering of old weaknesses, I must steel myself and say: “I cannot falter. I have pledged myself to the Light, and I shall not break my sacred word. The Path has called me to be stronger, and so I shall be.” In that moment, I offer a silent prayer, seeking the Light’s strength to stand firm in my vow. Shall I honor my sacred bargain with the Light?
Meditation of the Day
I shall strive to grow upon this path, walking ever forward with faith. My thoughts shall be turned to the virtues, and through such devotion, I shall find myself transformed. The closer I draw to true righteousness, the more I shall see the imperfections I must still overcome. The trials and struggles I face are proof of my progress, for only in challenge do I find the need to rise. The idle soul knows no hardship, but neither does it grow. Yet through my trials, I shall never stand alone—the Light is my strength, my shield, my unbreakable will.
Prayer of the Light
I pray that I may see the signs of my growth upon this righteous path. I pray that I may always strive to rise, ever seeking the Light’s embrace.

Thought for the Day - 3/2
Edict of the Light
Reflection of the Day
Throughout our battles and trials, we have learned that our own strength alone is not enough to overcome the darkness. Time and time again, we have faltered when relying solely on our mortal will. The forces of shadow are vast and insidious, and we, as humble knights of the Light, have known despair when faced with them.
Thus, the only path to true victory is through complete surrender to the Holy Light, a power far greater than ourselves. Only by opening our hearts fully to the Light can we find the strength to resist corruption, to heal the wounded, and to stand against the tide of darkness. True devotion is not found in words alone, but in the moment we kneel before the Light, placing our lives in Its hands. Have I pledged myself wholly to the Light, striving to walk the righteous path it has laid before me?
Meditation of the Day
The power of the Light does not come merely from ritual or ceremony, but from true communion with it. In prayer, in quiet reflection, and in moments of unwavering faith, the Light speaks to those who would listen. Its radiance does not dwell only within the great cathedrals or the chants of the clerics—it is a force that moves through all who truly seek it.
Through this sacred connection, we are granted strength, peace, and healing beyond mortal means. Yet many fail to realize the true potential of the Light within them, never opening themselves fully to its embrace. Let me be among those who listen, those who feel its warmth not only upon my skin, but within my very soul.
Prayer of the Day
I pray that the Light may fill me with its boundless strength. I pray that I may stand against the darkness, unshaken and unwavering, wielding the Light’s power in all that I do. Let my faith be my shield, my righteousness my weapon, and my devotion my guide. Through the Light, I shall endure all trials, knowing that I am never alone.

Thought for the Day 3/1
Edict of the Light
When the shadow of temptation creeps upon me, whispering of old burdens, I steel my resolve and say: "Do not take up that weight again. You have laid it upon the Light, and it is no longer yours to bear." And so, I cast it aside. One of the most sacred tenets of the path I walk is to surrender my trials to the Light—wholly, earnestly, and without doubt—never seeking to reclaim them. If I trust in the Light and stand unwavering in its radiance, I shall remain steadfast. Have I sworn never to take up that burden again?
Meditation of the Day
Only through unyielding vigilance shall my spirit grow, and my faith be made unbreakable. I must hold true to the sacred virtues—honor, duty, compassion, and justice—with unwavering perseverance. If I do so, no trial shall be insurmountable, no darkness too deep. The path shall be made straight, and all who walk beside me shall know that the Light guides my every step. To draw close to the Light is to know strength, healing, and the very essence of life itself.
Prayer of the Light
I pray that the Light may be the fire within my soul. I pray that its radiance may grow ever brighter within me.

Thought for the Day 2/28
Twenty-four Hours a Day
We should be free from the lure of unfavorable temptations. It is out of our hands and in the hands of our Faith, so we need not worry about it or even dwell on it any longer. But if we have not cast it aside honestly and fully, the shadows may creep back into our hearts. When we fail to trust our Faith to guide us, we reach out and grasp at the forbidden once more. Then the darkness is ours again, and we find ourselves ensnared as before. We are powerless against its pull, and we fall. Do I trust my Faith to keep me on the righteous path?
Meditation for the Day
No great battle is won without preparation. Every test of faith must be preceded by deep reflection and discipline. If we neglect our moments of prayer and spiritual fortification, our efforts in battle may be in vain. From the perspective of the Light, one weary soldier, rushing blindly into conflict without preparation, is of little use compared to the steadfast warrior who takes the time to sharpen their blade, steady their mind, and cleanse their soul.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may spend more time in quiet communion with the Light. I pray that I may draw strength and purpose from these moments, so that my actions in this world may be filled with clarity and righteousness.

Where we begin.
Duchy of Lakecrest
Lakecrest is a thriving and prosperous duchy, known for its bustling mining operations and a highly regarded military training program that supplies a steady stream of soldiers to the Alliance Army. The Everhurst family has long held dominion over these lands, with the title of Duchess belonging to Amanda Everhurst, the eldest daughter.
Amanda carved out an illustrious career in the military, earning the rank of Guard Marshal before deciding to retire to a quiet life, co-owning a tavern in the Howling Fjord. With her departure, the responsibilities of managing the duchy fell to her younger siblings. For a decade, Lakecrest flourished. The economy thrived, the Everhurst family enjoyed prosperity, and even the frequent orc assaults from the [North/South/East/West] appeared to dwindle. The family's coffers overflowed, and Amanda’s establishment, the Gilded Otter, became a thriving success. Everything seemed perfect.
Then came the fall of Dalaran.
News of this catastrophe reached Amanda in the Howling Fjord, and it stirred something deep within her. A calling, an undeniable pull back to her roots. Without hesitation, she packed up her belongings, entrusted the management of the Gilded Otter to her trusted co-owner, Mitchel, and set her sights on Redridge—on home.
But home was not as she had left it.
Amanda returned to Lakecrest expecting warmth, familiarity, and the seamless continuation of the golden era she had known. Instead, she was met with cold stares and wary glances. Smiles that once greeted her with open arms now faltered and faded when she approached. Doors that had always been open to her were locked without explanation. An unsettling tension gripped the land she once ruled, and Amanda needed no special intelligence to recognize that something was deeply wrong.
The longer she remained, the more the unease grew. The more questions she asked, the fewer answers she received. It was clear—things had changed in her absence. Fearing for her own safety and the truth lurking beneath the surface, Amanda left Lakecrest and relocated to Stormwind, renting a small apartment as she had in the days before her rise to power. And with distance came clarity. The ominous weight she had felt in Lakecrest lifted, replaced by a renewed sense of purpose.
She could not ignore the signs. Her younger siblings had either seized control of the duchy or were well on their way to doing so. The throne that was rightfully hers was slipping away. Amanda knew she could not reclaim her land alone—she would need allies, resources, and a carefully laid plan.
Now, in the heart of Stormwind, she begins her preparations. The time will come to return to Lakecrest, not as a visitor, but as a warrior. As a ruler. And she will take back what is hers.
