wanted to talk ab this little detail in this scene that i find Sad

ragatha’s first instinct here was to panic and brace herself for some kind of verbal backlash because of the outburst earlier. pomni didn’t even sound mad or irritated in her delivery, but ragatha’s expression still 100% reads “she must be upset with me for yelling”
whoever said that her feigned optimism is a fawn response instead of toxic positivity hit the nail Right on the head i think.
her mom must have been pretty awful

As you can all tell from my extremely rare reblogs, I'm just a lil' bit pissed with some of the fandoms' reaction to both Ragatha and Jax's flaws.
Ragatha's clear fawning behavior, people pleasing tendency to downplay the bad and eggxasurate the good and trying too hard... Nah, she's obviously just trying to make herself look good, the mommy issues are just a poor excuse. She doesn't actually care about the rest of the circus crew, she just wants to feed her fragile ego. No wonder the others are sick of her, It's her fault for being toxically positive and clingy and annoying.
We have Jax, who is antagonistic and violent towards the people around him, puts up a front of apathy, pushes those who try to get too close away, and constantly tries people down to his level. But that's okay! He lost his last friend recently, and that's why he's lashing out. He's just playfully ribbing. He's just teasing. He's annoying, bit in a funny "lovable bastard" way! At least he's honest about how he feels, right?
BOTH of their attitudes stem from (likely shared) parental and social trauma, but from opposite sides. And thus, they act opposite of each other. And I LOVE that! Their both so, SO very flawed and nuanced! But some of the fandom... yeah, I'm just a teensy bit miffed. A eensy weency bit peeved, even.
#DUDE. YEAH.#the amount of ragatha hate is so insanely disproportionate compared to jax#like did we forget the part where jax tried to gaslight rags into thinking she told gangle to khs#he is still an insecure loser i fear#i mean i love him for that. i love miserable jerk archetypes in fiction#but lets be fr PLEASE HE IS NOT A GREAT GUY#not to say ragatha is great either but it sucks to see so many people completely dismissing what this episode meant for her characterwise#tadc spoilers

OK SO WAIT YOU’RE DEF ONTO SOMETHING HERE !! I never thought about the fact the wanderers could have been stripped of some kind of individuality and it intrigues me a bunch(another thing to note is that the Egg at the top of the city has a fetus inside it that looks like it has 2 heads, and when ENA enters the egg the same vein adjacent tendrils are there that the Wanderers possess… no idea what this could mean in relation to the theory but it’s interesting to me)
This theory aligns 100% with what i think happened to Frank as well!!
he and ENA (or some variant of ENA) have been inside Crowd Door and probably first met there since Frank is implied to know her personally(and genuinely enjoys her company), and where do we find him in-game? Exiled, blind, stripped of a proper body, unforgivable, under constant stress, like YEAHH THERE’S A THEME HERE…. i’m gonna be looking out for stuff like this continuing into ch 2
Thinking ENA thoughts. Ok so yknow how theres the little alcove in the wall by the Taxi Driver's heads and that, with some out-of-boundsing, you can see this scene

So. ENA is Unforgiven, as a character trait. Here is a character, forgiving her, in priestly robes and stance while she appears to be trying to sell him something (before disappearing when you look away). Now, when we reach the Uncanny Streets, we see the polygonal, two-headed creatures (which the wiki refers to as The Wanderers) more as beasts or surveillance machines. They can't be spoken to, seem to rove the landscape mindlessly, and the only one we DO get to interact with is treating a building like a chew toy. It is, as per the achievement, a weird dog.
Assuming some idea of linear time between these iterations of The Wanderer-- which, lets be clear, is NOT A GIVEN-- then the only character who expressly forgives ENA suffers a terrible fate, stripped of personhood, doomed to wandering where they once had a role, and removed from the ability to make any impression on others besides a vague and intimidating beast-machine.
Writing this out, it reminds me of how people seem to percieve ENA herself, with the exception of her purpose being demonstrated constantly.
Parallels aside, this could be just another devastating example of the carnage ENA leaves in her wake. She goes in to conduct business and is inexplicably blamed for something she hasn't even done yet. She is forgiven for it, but it is still attributed to her before it happens. For whatever reason, the same individual loses everything. Coincidence seems unlikely to me, even if nothing ENA did was directly at fault-- just like every other act of destruction her business leads to.
And in a world where people's relationship with death seems to be slippery and trivial, the fates given the most gravity seem to be transformations. From blob man or pants to misshapen popsicle, from person to Wanderer.
