She stares at Lance. "Whatever dog it was, it looks like it won."
There is just so much to unpack with whatever the Kanto champion has got going on, and by Mew, is she curious...
"I'm pretty sure you can find sheaths through the internet, though I don't know about fairy magic-proof." Is there truly such a thing? "Maybe a more legitimate weapons shop? I've seen some in Hammerlocke."

spots to kiss + 11 that turns into 13... for Green 💚 💙 from @evoblue spots to kiss || no longer accepting.
11 = a kiss on the corner of the mouth 13 = a kiss on the lips
I, uh, really did not mean for it to get this long. This is not exactly how I imagined the dance sequence to go but I am in the middle of a flare-up, so that's fun. And so you get near 2,500 words of nonsense, but at least they kissed, right?
Tumblr media
Green has never been one dance, really. He doesn't mind it, of course, and will participate when required. He is a quick study, generally able to learn things quite quickly by just observing. Such an ability had served him well during his time as a trainer, as a Gym Leader—he had learned the hard way that one must stop and think.
Except today, he had nearly hesitated for a beat too long. He had joined Blue following their initial walk around the ballroom. Their talk had gone as well as expected. Polite, mainly surface level topics at first. The seemed to slip into a routine comfort, Green sharing a story about a trainer who had approached him for a battle when they weren't ready. Blue delving into the hypothesis that could prove a theory she had been presented by Professor Rowan. He mentions his younger brother, and Blue speaks about how different the gym circuit had been compared to Kanto. He had barely been able to keep his eyes off her, hands held together at his back and a slight smile rested at his mouth gently.
Green had wanted to memorise this, how her eyes shone when she grinned—the one she shows all of her teeth and it's her at her brightest. How her hands move passionately when she explained her research, and how she slowly eased into a memory of the girl he once knew, but still remembers.
The girl had aged into a woman as he had a man, no longer the children that played together with Red in the field close to riverbank or balanced on the edge of the railway tracks. They were no longer the teenagers who occasionally returned home to present their findings and new pokédex entries to Professor Oak, only exchanging small words whenever they crossed paths and she started to wear that same perfume she wears and the one he had dreamed about for months later.
It had stoked something with him, the little candle that seemed to melt all to fast to be replaced with something a bigger. Like the campfire sleepovers they used to have with Red, sleeping by the dying embers or excitedly talking about what pokémon they would have on their teams. Staying up and talking for hours after Red had gone to bed, and he was sure the three of them were scolded like the silly children they were.
No, they were adults now.
He, a former Champion, now the Gym Leader of Viridian City and co-head of the Alolan Battle Tree. Charmed to be called one of the world’s most eligible bachelors, with his naturally cool nature and his intriguing, enigmatic eyes that always commanded attention, his smirk that walks the line between confidence and cockiness. However he would not regard himself as available. Eyes on him no matter where they went as his were easily distracted by her.
Her name, her reports, her pokémon, her face. Videos he has found alone of his childhood friend and illustrated how truly gorgeous she had become, blooming like her favourite flower without the forgetting. The true treasure of Silph Co.:the Jewel of Kanto.
She, one of the three legendary trainers, now also a top researcher and philanthropist.
And he wants her at his side more than anything, even more than wanting to become Indigo League Champion at ten. He yearns for her in more ways, hoping to brush fingers and hear her heartbeat. He wants her to bare that smile for him, the one that shows all of her teeth, to have her lean against him and grip his arm tightly with heaving breaths as he licked a stripe of kisses down her neck and brushed the lining of her dress. The hand that grasps her hip, the other in hers as she twists in pleasure, reaching up to slope—
He had immediately forced himself to take a long gulp of the drink he had purchased for himself, focusing singularly on Blue and ignoring his heated face and he needs to readjust his suit. He responds in kind to her humorous story with a joke of his own, his own smirk growing once more. Except, his prideful face did not seem to be for his own skill; it was because he had made her successfully laugh. And it was her real laugh, the one where she allowed herself open with the bend of her knees and like music to his ears.
Good. Safe. Nothing to have them panic.
Their issues were briefly touched on, to be paused for another time. But at least they had spoken, and she seemed receptive to perhaps hearing him out.
Their time together was halted when Blue was summoned to the dance floor for what seemed to be a particularly important performance. Blue had turned, her perfectly curled hair swinging as she gave an apologetic shrug and headed off. He had followed, and soon enough, he was in the spot we found him in, and Blue is dancing effortlessly to an orchestral rendition of a song he vaguely remembers hearing on his pokêgear. She is as elegant as ever, the crystals on her dress shining against the lights. She doesn't leave his eyes and he watches her and her partner dance. The lucky person seems ordinary and he finds himself shoving his hands in pockets and looking away, but his eyes still observe.
The violin dulls once more and the music is soft as it enters the second verse. The choreography, Green recognises, is a repeat of what they had performed earlier. But during the third line, her partner suddenly stops, doubles over and rushes away, leaving an opening in the crowd. Everyone is confused, whispering between themselves and glancing between where the person had run off in and back to their beautiful host. She looks just as surprised as everyone else, but tries to regain her composure, standing in the middle as she waits to slip off the dance floor despite the other couples still performing.
His eyes are also wide, following the trend of the crowd. There is a clear, empty space where Blue is supposed to be dancing with her partner. The music whips up and as Blue begins to make her way where the makeshift pathway remains, she happens to step in the same way the rest of the dancers. And this is where Green takes a quick couple of steps to bring her close to him, falling in line with the other couples. He holds both of his hands out as he begins to direct her, somehow managing to keep up with the other dancers.
Every breath from the moment she takes his hand is synchronised with hers, and they are until their final steps.
As his hands fall away, Green turns his own body in place, exactly the same as the other dance partners. He reaches for again and she falls into his arms, and it feels like she belongs there.
The rest of the song feels as like a blur for the Viridian City Gym Leader. His heart is always hers wholly, but with the way he holds her waist, it feels like he could hold hers in return if she let him. Soft, loved, safe. His lids grow heavy and each movement of Blue's he drinks in, the dress making her look like a beautiful goddess of the winter cold. As though he had been offered ambrosia, and the sweet nectar blessed him to see the divine beauty. And if there were someone he would compare to a deity despite being atheist, her would name her.
Green recognises where they are in the song as his leg lowers to allow him to draw a circle on the ground, the violin slowing to allow the harp time to melt the sound out. Blue stays at his shoulder, and for the barest of moments, she leads. He makes his way back to her, and takes the final step to the left. Blue makes her final turn, full of grace despite the height of her shoes. He leans into a bent knee and partner follows his angle, their faces close.
And then everything stops.
The sound of applause and impressed smiles takes his vision.
What does he do now? Wave to the crowd that had gathered as he does when he has a massive battle or when he has beaten an opponent?
As though sensing his thoughts, Blue acts as Green’s anchor, hand reaching for his for the first time. He grips back gratefully, swallowing when he follows her lead, bowing as she does. She turns to face the other dancers, this time curtseying perfectly. One of the other dancers decides to try and copy Blue rather than bowing like everyone, and she nearly looses her footing.
They turn to face their partners once more, some of them kissing cheeks and others kissing hands. He cannot help but linger as others slowly take their leave, the claps and curious looks replaced with excited gossip and the hurried sound of shoes slowly fading away.
Green swallows as all of the adrenaline leaves him, but Blue keeps hold. Almost no one is paying attention to them now, most of the crowd having dissipated by the absence of music. The announcer mentions that some of the orchestra are taking a break as others perform an interlude to keep the mood Blue had so meticulously put together.
It is them alone still on the dance floor and he waits, but the woman makes no indication to move away either.
❝ You... danced great, ❞ he manages to say, hand rising to rub at the back of his neck awkwardly. Green once more feels unsure of himself, an emotion he does not completely understand. He hesitates and wonders, tentatively leaning forward to brush his lips against her cheek like some of the other dance partners had.
She turns her head at the action and his mouth finds the corner of hers as she breaths out a quiet, ❝ Thanks, ❞
He knows he has bent down for too long, but when he pulls back slightly to look at her, she stares in a way that makes him second-guess himself.
Green watches as the beautiful shade of cobalt of her eyes that drifts to a navy as his shadow casts over her. Her cheeks dust a soft pink, similar to the flowers that grow in Pallet Town. He observes, moving his face slightly so he can see her. His eyes drop to her painted lips only briefly before they are boring into hers again. He needs to hear from her, understand that she wants him to kiss her as much as he wants to.
He leans back in her direction and pauses, his forehead close to hers and Green can feel the heat that radiates from her.
Does Blue want this? Doesn't she hate him? Isn't tonight only the first step in the right direction?
He name falls from his mouth and she blinks at the sound as though awoken out of a trance. She trembles when she notices how he stares, and he briefly wonders if she is as nervous as he is.
❝ Do you want me to kiss you? ❞ he asks in a soft murmur, unable to keep his eyes off her lips. He needs to see her reply for himself.
She nods and exhales her answer as a plea.
❝ Yes. ❞
For the first time, Green doesn't allow himself to think. He knows that if he does, the courage that burns inside of him as hot as Charizard’s flame will go out. The adrenaline had not completely left him. It seems, but they would be dying embers if he doesn’t act now and there is no match hidden to reignite it. No second chances.
And the seconds continue to tick by, and for once, he goes for it.
He ignores every instinct that tell him to play it cool. He ignores every thought that tells him to run or challenge her to a battle instead. All of them are set ablaze in a glorious fire as he is finally able to accomplish what he has wanted for months.
His mind is able to know peace from the outpouring nerves when he finally, finally, kisses her.
Like lemonade on a hot day, a victory over a strong opponent, or watching as one of his theories is proven correct. She feels so much better than all of that, and Green parts his lips to capture one of hers in between.
As though he has been travelling through the dessert for days with unquenched thirst and she is an oasis, she is his relief.
He fights himself to not surge forward, however he presses a little harder and she follows suit. He cannot help but worry that if he pushes her too much, she will fall from his hands like the leaves of autumn fall to prepare for winter. Like he will wake up from such a vidiid dream and no longer be able to function But he is so tempted.
The more he tastes, the more he wants her.
She is heavenly, already looking like an angel in the crystallised-looking gown that hugged her body in ways that said she deserved to be worshipped. The fire is continued to be stoked and it's complete and utter relief when Blue responds in kind, and it is like his prayers were answered for the first time.
He can smell her perfume and it doesn't annoy him as it used to, and he breathes it in like he does the rest of her, as though she is oxygen herself. How lucky Green Oak is to be kissing the most spectacular person he has ever known: someone he knows can challenge him in more ways than one, keep pace but more than capable on her own. The one who is more amazing than he will ever be and unlike anyone else he knows, he is perfectly fine with it.
He would allow for his quiet days to be loud if she were the one making the noise. Green would gladly fill his wardrobe with hoodies for her if the rumours are true. He would happily stock his home any way she needed and would abandon any goal if it interfered with hers. He would battle against her anytime she wanted and would follow her to the ends of the earth.
If only Blue would say she wanted him to be hers.
The third to their trio, but half of him; and she has his whole heart.
Green keeps his hands in his pockets, hands squeezed in fists so that he doesn’t push her any more than he has. Blue has pressed herself against him in return, and he can feel the crystals of her dress pressing into torso, but he pays them not mind for the skin is hard from muscle. Their movements are relatively slow as they slowly kiss, him leading he had in the dance, and when it starts to grow more urgent, he has to pull away to take a breath. All he does is watch her and she watches him, expressions mirroring each others. The colour on her cheeks has deepened and her lips have darkened as well and her breathing is also uneven now.
For what could be the first time, Green can feel himself growing desperate. He had never been one to date around unless it was something he sought out. But after once taste of Blue he needs her, yearns for her, lives for her and would happily lose himself in her embrace if it meant he could see that expression again.
His gaze drops as he draws one hand from his pocket and tentatively have it hovering over her waist, ghosting where his handprints had held her so comfortably only minutes before. She follows his hand and their eyes return to meet, and he sees no protest. This has Green pulling him towards her again, pulling her flush against him and some of his falls over his forehead. He feels Blue touching him tentatively against his chest, and as though sensing the need for reassurance, he acts. His other hand is freed from the pocket and is drawn between his, fingers lacing. He pulls back slightly with a disappointed groan, to hold their joined hands against his chest. His heart.
Green stares as though urging her to understand what it is he feels. But how can he if he doesn’t say it.
❝ I need— ❞ but he is cut off near-instantly by Blue slanting her lips over his, and who is he to deny her?
Green is addicted to her taste, so he completely understands. Even as, ❛ I need to tell you that I love you, ❜ falls away from his lips. He squeezes her hand instead, willing for her get it as he pours all of the emotions he feels into the urgency of his. She responds with as much enthusiasm.
❝ This is okay, right? ❞ he mumbles between breaths as he tilts his head the other way. The brief ‘yes’ is enough confirmation and he swipes his tongue along her lower lip, gauging her reaction. She sighs pleasantly and he swallows it, leaning into her so that he able to taste the tang of wine.
The bite at his lip in return is enough to realise how quickly he would lose control. Another heat blast is shot from somewhere inside him, swelling his body and outwards. She has him wrapped around her finger around her finger and Green would be on his knees the day she did find out, ready to worship her openly as she deserved.
She had helped to shape him into the person he is today, had pushed him as a trainer alongside Red. He had found himself reading her research and choosing to contribute occasionally his own exploration analyses. Some had mentioned that the three of them from Pallet Town are the greatest in the world, and how they pushed each other to do it. Maybe Blue had not meant for him to become Champion and then Red to keep the title upon being challenged by her. None of them would be the people they are without each other.
She had always been part of him, even when Green didn't know it. Scolding him in his youth for being rude, encouraging him to interact with more than his friends in which she would be met with a tight smile or a cool nod, making sure that he didn't get too cocky when offering advice to challengers.
Each step, while taking them around the world, was still a trail that led them back to each other. And maybe this is fate. To reunite like this, and finally complete what had been unfinished for too long.
Blue had always been a masterpiece, painted with golds and sapphires. Each pass by the painting would make one gasp. His lay unfinished, with people only being impressed by some parts.
Green is breathless as he stares down at her. Blue has always been ethereal too him—but her slightly swollen lips, hair as shiny as it ever was and dress making her glow, it's a wonder he had not lost his mind yet for she could make his knees buckle. He keeps her to him, only loosening his grip so that their joined hands could be seen. He raises the back of her hand and brushes his lips with it, soft. The Gym Leader only looks at her as he pulls away.
❝ It was a pleasure to dance with you, ❞ he says. Her gaze has always been magnetic. He could find her across the room and he would instantly be hooked. They remain fixated, as though entranced, and he keeps her hands embraced in the warmth of his. It is kind and warm instead of hot, though their hands hang between them for the slight distance Green had created just before.
Could he paint his canvas enough to be worthy of her? What does she think of his incompletion?
❝ Do you, ❞ Green begins, and his mouth is suddenly dry. Is this from the heat, how erratically his heart beating? ❝ Do you want to continue our talk somewhere else? ❞
He hopes that he is starting to grow, for he wants nothing more than continue to prove to Blue how much he knows, how she never left mind. How apologetic he is for whatever hurt he has caused her, for how can Green call himself a man, a Battle Legend, if the one he is fighting for is unable to accept what it is he offers. Blue is everything he wants and more, and he's sure she had stolen his heart like she had Hurley.
❝ Yes, ❞ she answers again.
Green is going to paint the world and more for her.

But also, N wouldn't have first-hand experience with this, would he?
