Turn up the Lights

Evol hit the stage at Cafe 11 located at 501 A1A Beach Blvd. St. Augustine Fl, on November 17,2011. He opened up for hip-hop group THE KNUX, who is most famously known for their collaboration with music superstar Kid Cudi. Evol performed popular tracks from his two mix tapes, Speak before you Think and Deliver us from Evol, as well as introduced singles from his first debut album Lost Cause.

Lost Cause has been drawn from the people that Evol reaches out to the most. His goal is to bring emotion and entertainment through his music to the hopeless. Not hopeless in the sense of poverty or a lower class but anyone that has ever felt emotion of being hopeless. Evol has designed this album to be ambitious, creative, articulate and an all around good time.
Make sure you stayed tuned for when the album drops in March, as well as some singles that will be featured on Evol's website.

Making the Papers

Back in November I sat down with Ignition Music Magazine for an interview. Sarah Locke sat across from me and my publicist, Alison Como and drilled me with questions. I enjoyed every minute of it. I appreciate the write up and want everyone to check out their Magazine and especially the February issue, Pg 23!

Evol was born as Michael Donovan Nezbeth on February 20, 1988 in Toronto, Canada. Evol spent most of his childhood in Toronto, until he moved to South Florida. During his high school career he began writing. However, his writing was not intentionally meant to be lyrics. After being influenced by family and friends, his rhymes lead to raps and his captivating music was created. Evol is currently working on his Bachelors degree in St. Augustine, Florida, and will graduate in April of 2012. It should be known that Evol does not rap about adolescent issues, the content of his music surrounds real life issue, and his diverse background in music allows him to make real life stories into rhymes. Such music artists, Tupac, Lupe Fiasco, and Bob Marley are inspiration to Evol’s unique style and lyrics. Evol’s voice of reason has manifests itself in clever rhymes that balanced the young hustler's lifestyle with a sense of street reared insight. Writing from pure experience, it’s all about his feelings and what is going on in his life but at the same time being relatable. Displaying a message to think for yourself and don’t let others make decisions for you. Evol’s first mix tape titled “Speak before you think” conveys a message to speak from your heart and not censor what you think. Evol also collaborated with popular production group, Classic Blends, and produced his next mix tape titled "Deliver Us from Evol." His upcoming mix tape shows Evols upbeat style and a all around good time, titled "Dopium." Evol had the opportunity to work with producers such as Demar Porter, Laurent Walter, as well as Street Music Entertainment.
