Here's a short story I wrote on a writing prompt app, the prompt was 'She wept'

She wept. An involuntary sob escaping as her captors yank on the end of the rope, pulling her before the one holding the axe; stained red, likely by the previous victims of its extensive lifetime. The roars of the crowd drowning out the speaker bedecked in gold and brown and a red crown, not that they would consider the unheard speech a loss. They all knew it by heart, from when they were children chanting it with their teachers while making their decorations of reds, browns, and yellows in the weeks leading up to the yearly ritual, and the days of slaughter and work that followed.

In a bid for freedom she struggles, her brown feathered tufts flying loose into a plumage to the delight of the voracious crowd; only to be cruelly grabbed by a fist and dragged down to the ground with her cries of pain. Approaching the captive the speaker accepts the axe, mercelessly watching her struggle in vain and hearing her cries as her limbs are pulled to their full wingspan then back, her neck pushed forwards.

Stepping beside her to the sound of hushed silence, his stature dwarfing her plump frame, boots crushing her fragile loose tufts. "May this grand vibrant gift from God be a sign of the hunt and feasts to come!"

"Dont eat too much or you wont be able to drag yourself up the ladder!" followed by thunderous laughter and other lighthearted hecklers. Driven by terror she lets out one last cry before her executioner swings the axe into the neck of the turkey donated to the local fire department

Hi I'm working on being a writer and a part of that is making some social media accts, I have no idea what to post so for now once a week I'll post something once I have more I will post more often. I have ADHD and possibly Autism, I completely forget things as I write before I have the chance to get it all down and am a mess, so lets see if I manage to make a book!
