Rose really , really wasn't a fan of some of the people she'd met through Chris . Some of them were great , like K and a couple others who actually, really paid attention to her and her struggles - and some of them . . some of them were assholes , to put it lightly . She wasn't one to judge right off the bat , but Sherry had seemed friendly enough and even though she came with paperwork , she hadn't pressured Rose into anything — yet , at least .

The idea of not being alone, of both her and her sister not being alone in this whole shitshow of powers and mutations and being different in a world that was still . . not entirely adjusting to the idea — all of it was so incredibly hard on her , and Rose so often felt as if she just wanted to be normal. To not have people whisper about her and not to be so . . so different. She half perks up at the comment that was made and it's clear in a slight tonal change , but there's still that wistful uncertainty that remains there regardless .
