Being creative when it comes to Freerunning.
I’ve been a dancer for most of my life and as a dancer we learned how to express ourselves as individuals. Of course you train technique in order to execute the moves properly and reduce possible injury. Before all of that you train your body to be fit enough to complete those techniques for each level that you are in. They also taught confidence. Dancers need to be confident in themselves as well as their abilities. Technique of course only goes so far in dance because its the combination of techniques that show who YOU are as an individual. It is more then just physical movement it is your chance for self expression. As a dancer you evolve not soley from technique but from creative development. This gives them the oppurtunity to develop a new dance language and  not just feel bound by the only dance language they have when learning which is their instructers.
OK enough about dance.
This idea is similar to freerunning. You go through the basics (which most now can learn easily through youtube which is great dont get me wrong )  But the hard part is when you fuse your persinality to those basics and begin to create.
An old friend of mine when dancing told me “ Not all movements are meant for everyone. (of course if you work hard you can achieve anything you want ) but the point I feel he was making was you might love a specific move and say to yourself “Woah thats so cool I want to do it too” yet you may not be able to at the moment. But you do have the ability to create your own version which feels more natural to you and somehow out of that you stumble across somthing new which you have never seen before. THAT IS WHO YOU ARE !
The problem with the easy access to youtube videos and tutorials is no one is there to tell anyone to take a more creative and open approach (after training proper techniques to get yourself ready first of course) on their training.  In turn it has bred more clones in the community than individuals. In my personal opinion I feel that in order for anything to evolve one must dare to be different. Of course we have people who have done so in the community already its the reason why we can all say hey your do you reverse vaults like the guys from GUP or you do that like so and so etc. ( you get my drift) It is becasue those people aren’t sitting there doing everything exactly like another. They put their own spin to it , their own style and their own personality which resonates and sticks with us.
This may just be the dancer in me speaking but I feel that we all need to move ourselves in a way that feels good to us and works well with who we are physically and internally and from that the growth of new inovative ideas will begin to emerge.

London sights and Parkour spots/gyms etc
London travel Parkour training London was very much like being in the northeastern part of the states. It was easier to travel around in Denmark even though London signs were in English it did take us a little while to figure out the train and bus system. TRAVEL Tip: for those who will not be driving FYI for buses make sure to talk to the driver if you don't know where the stop is otherwise you will soon realize that there's no way to tell unless you live there and just know where your going. They will just blow right passed your stop if you don't press the button to alert the driver. The parkour training areas are not made for practitioners like in Copenhagen Denmark where there are so many parks and areas dedicated to the sport so it gives you a more natural feel to your training environment which is cool. They have lots of versatile areas but also be ready for lots of BIG jumps.

a few things I have learned about Denmark…
1. People drink all the time. Morning Afternoon Night someone has a drink in their hands. Not to mention you can just drink out in the open no problem.
2. Their transportation system is the easiest to understand and is the fastest and most efficient way to travel other then with a bike.
3.everyone rides a bike. (All ages) they have lanes and bike traffic lights to ensure easy and safe travel
4. Pedestrians always have the right of way even when you accidentally think your in NY and just Jwalk they will stop and wave you on.
5. Most people will not Jwalk even if there aren’t any cars coming.
6. They looooooove sandwiches
7. Interesting enough I’ve had some of the best pizza ,bagels and Thai food I’ve ever had in my life. (That’s not an exaggeration) (yes better than NY 😱)
8. Tap water is safe. Their water supply goes through the most strict procedures according to the European regulations.
9. Picking up on the Danish language is easier then you think.
10. People here can be slightly introverted but if you make you effort to speak to them they will be super kind and friendly with you because of this friendships here are valued more.
11. The parkour scene is awesome! Spots galore!
12. Danes prove that courtesy goes a LONG way. When in escalators everyone stays to the right to allow those who need to walk up or down quickly pass. Hence it makes moving around smooth quick and efficient. (No wonder why Denmark has the happiest people in the world)
So sad it’s time to go but I will def be coming back to Denmark. I will miss it so much!

First day in Copenhagen Denmark. First international flight on Norwegian was good flew in the middle of the night so slept most of the way. We decided to explore around when we arrived even though we were extremely jet lagged and we came upon this hippie town called Christiania it's a self governing free town in Copenhagen where there are no cars and the only way to get in is by walking or bicycle. It was an old abandoned military barracks that had been occupied by hippie squatters when the military moved out after world war 2. Since it has its own laws apart from Denmark's laws (Denmark police are restricted/do not enter the area.) Christiania has a green light district where they sell hash and weed but are highly against hard drugs and weapons. The rules are simple do not by any means take pictures in or close too the green light district. Locals that are there don't all live there and live outside where it is still illegal and won't take chances of having their photos taken. Just don't do it. Also another rule was not to run in the market area as it can cause panic in the area as well. Other then that this place felt comfortable and friendly. There is so much art on every corner from graffiti art to art made from junk and scrap metals in the area. This place is amazing! I def recommend that you put this place on the list of places to see!
