Introspective Beginnings
Hi there! I’m Alli, and I love books. If you also like (or any variation of that emotion) books, you may find this blog enjoyable. I intend to use this space to give reviews, chat about current reads, post bookish pictures, or share any other relevant book content. Now that you know my intent, how about some random facts about me?
I find that being curled up in a comfy chair with a book is one of the best places to be. There are so many worlds to escape into among the pages and so many characters to love, hate, or any manner of emotion in between. I think coffee or tea make for great reading beverages, and sometimes, a glass of wine pairs nicely with a novel. And some days, a cold glass of chocolate milk is the way to go.
My favorite time of year is Autumn. There is something magical about that time of the year that just makes reading even better. Cozy candles, crisp fall air, colorful trees, warm blankets, and hot drinks (not to mention pumpkin spice) are just some of the happy additions to reading time.
Weather conditions for reading? I love rainy weather. Gray skies, rain pattering against the window, and thunder echoing across the clouds makes reading so much better for me. Something about the gloomy atmosphere makes me want to hide under a blanket, or in a pillow fort, with a flashlight and absorb myself in a book.
Even without specific weather or seasons, I still love reading whenever I have the time. I often find it difficult to read just one book at a time. I tend to be reading at least three books (and carrying two back-up books) because I lean more toward being a mood reader, so I need options depending on the time of day.
My favorite genre is Fantasy, but I enjoy books from most other genres, also. I tend to fancy Middle Grade first with Adult and Young Adult tying for second. I find Middle Grade fun because it requires the reader to let go of the idea of “normal” and embrace the imagination. Anything is possible in Middle Grade books, and the reader is along for the ride.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I am here to make some book friends, share my bookish opinions, and just enjoy the atmosphere of having a blog.
