Teito might have been getting a little annoyed by all of this, he had agreed to go with him, but he hadn't agreed to take his sweet time, there was much to do in the short time he could spend up there before the Father would send him back home. Still he had no right to complain since the blonde was being kind enough to do this for him.

Why did he keep looking back at him? Was he expecting him to look back and see that Teito had run off? Where would he run to? He had no idea where he was going. Teito picked up his speed so he could come to walk closer to the blonde so that maybe he'd stop looking at him. 

"You, uh, do know where you're going right?"

Christmas displays set in the front of shops now with their bright lights and cheerful festive characters. Teito didn't like the season, but he guess it wouldn't hurt to do a bit of Christmas shopping so he could send some gifts back to the Chruch and to Mikage. Ah well at least Mikage would be easy to shop for, but what should he get Castor? Labrador? Even Haruken would be hard to shop for.

Teito's hands brushed over a small pink doll it was furry and honestly something about it reminded him of Mikage. The tag said it was a dragon, but this might be the first furry dragon he's ever seen.

"Maybe I should get this for him" a smile graced Teito's lips

"Why does winter have to be so cold......?"

Teito was freezing, stupid cold weather, stupid season. He never liked this season much to begin with anyways. All it was good for was curling up with a good book and drinking something really warm all curled up in a pile of blankets.

Dreaming of Stars [@vyssini]

Night was kind of stressful and often and unsatisfying time of day for Teito. He often found it hard to sleep at night because of strange dreams he kept having that would wake him from a peaceful sleep. Yet he couldn't remember a thing when he awoke, but there were feelings there, feelings of loneliness and sometimes fear. He thought it better that he didn't know what caused him to toss and turn and eventually wake before he was supposed to be up. He didn't want to figure it out just because he thought it might be some dream his mind is trying to repress to save him the torment of it all. Tonight was one of those nights though, a night where he was awoken by a dream or well a nightmare in this case. 

His heart was gripped with fear and panic a cold sweat covering most of his body. He shot up panting and blinking away un-shed tears. Teito wiped them away with the back of his hand frowning at the wetness before burying his face in his hands trying to calm himself down. It didn't help though, no he needed to walk this off, that was the only way he was going to get back to sleep. It was nearly after midnight though, he'd get into trouble for being out this late...... Like he cared, he didn't know the people he lived with and he doubted they would have much to say besides 'Oh you're the new roommate.'

Teito didn't debate the choice any long before he was out the door pulling on his coat and down the street. It was dark, the moon was covered up by the clouds and the street lights were the only illumination he'd get besides a crack or two in the clouds. Teito sighed looking up into the dark sky wishing the clouds would part and he could stare up at the stars. He found a place on a hill before when he was wandering around, it didn't take long for him to find it again.

He laid back on the grass, staring up into the dark cloudy sky. He could hear the wind blowing through the tree limbs shaking what few leaves were left on the trees. One sound was out of place though, the sounds of footsteps on the grass. Teito didn't even bother to sit up before he spoke.

"I didn't think anyone else would be up this late, or be out on the streets at least."

Teito hated it, he was new here and already causing someone hassle. He could be off doing whatever it is he wanted, but no he was stuck here because Teito was lost. He didn't want his help! He could manage on his own! No matter how many times he thought that to himself he couldn't believe it to be true. He could get lost and then someone less friendly or nice or whatever than the older male could come along and well if he couldn't over power or outsmart the person he'd be toast, or worse. 

Didn't he just say that? "Yes the church." Was that a rhetorical question? One where he wasn't supposed to answer or was he thinking out loud? The man was nodding and well he was confused. What was that supposed to mean? Then his hand was on Teito's shoulder and he nearly tensed up at the contact. He's not too big of a fan of strangers laying a hand on him even if it was something like a pat on the head or shoulder. 

"Alright, as long as I get to where I need to be I'll follow you" at a safe distance of course. You can never be too cautious, that's the way Teito lives his life. Though he's not gotten to the point of expecting everyone to turn on him in a heart beat or anything. He just always watches his back, just in case.

"Hmm really? That seemed almost too perfect for it to just be instinct." He didn't know much about instincts, but he had heard once that a mother lifted a car off of her baby or something like that. So maybe it was something like that? The kid wasn't in any danger though, it was just a balloon, it would have been easier just to buy him another one.

"I don't know I don't quite believe that story you know. I mean if you did it on purpose why would you hide it? That was pretty neat."

This might actually be the most he's said to someone since he's arrived here. To him it didn't make much sense, why would you hide something you were good at? It was a talent of yours right? Its apart of you so you should embrace it? Hmm.... then again some talents are better left in the dark.... This one wasn't one of those though.

"I can agree with you about seeing him upset, I wanted to do something, but I couldn't think of any way to help him out without going to buy him another balloon." Or get stuck in the tree and have to face that humiliation.

 Damn, she had been caught in the act. Turning her attention to him, there was nothing to be done now. She had two choices, be honest about her years of training as a martial artist who could kick his butt in the blink of an eye….or make something up and try to not lose face. 

"I don’t know." She lied. "I just saw the little boy in distress and the rest is a blank~"

She cooed, doing rash things like jumping into trees wasn’t something she wanted to be seen doing. They were hardly the sort of things a cute, potential loving house-wife would do and that was exactly what the teen wanted to be seen as. 

"I guess I just couldn’t stand to see the little guy upset…"

More like she couldn’t stand his whining, it was just a balloon after all. 

"It must have stirred something within me that made me act so strangely~"

Hmmm well it was a bit chilly outside, but Teito didn't mind at the most he would have given up his seat if he didn't want the man to sit with him. "I don't need any thanks, the seat wasn't taken, you had every right to take that seat if you wanted it, if I didn't want to sit here with you I would have left." There short and simple, no room for much conversation off of that he hoped. 

He went back to his book intent on memorizing the tale of the 7 Ghosts. The man kept speaking, was he trying to make small talk with him? Oh the cake, well he didn't really like cake himself either, but it was something he could eat without getting too full on it. Then again he didn't eat much as it was, he was mostly living off of quick snacks and vitamin tablets. Teito glance back up from over his book to reply curtly to his question, "I just arrived this morning."

Toshi Academy? That was the school he would be attending once he was completely settled in and everything was sorted out. "Yes actually, I'll be there on the next school day. My name is Teito Klein." He saw no point in hiding his name especially since he was a teacher, he'd learn his name eventually no matter what.

"Thanks! I don’t think I want to drink my tea outside, so I was hoping you wouldn’t kick me out or something," he said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head before taking a sip of his tea. He really didn’t want to stand outside with his tea, the brunette had a tendency of getting really cold really easily. He was enjoying the warm air of the tea shop anyways.

"I’m not much of a cake person, except if it’s like, cheesecake. Cheesecake is really good," he mused, leaning his elbows on the table and continued to sip on his tea. "So, I’m kind of new here. Well, I used to live here years ago, at least. How long have you been here?" he asked curiously, before blinking and remembering something.

"I might as well introduce myself, huh? I’m Endou Mamoru, the new soccer coach at Toshi Academy. Are you a student there?"

It really was a nice day today, it was cold, but not freezing, it was kind of a pleasant chill the kind that kind of nipped at your nose and only felt like it was freezing when the wind blew. The sun was shinning and there was no school this afternoon, it was a great day indeed. Though Teito didn't know how to spend it, he couldn't spend all day cooped up in the church, the Father there wouldn't let him. So that was off of the list, well at least he could study maybe the cafe would be a nice choice? He could get something nice and sweet to eat, maybe some tea or hot chocolate to drink? Well it was preferable to sitting around and doing nothing. 

The cafe was pretty crowded today full of students and adults who must have too much time on their hands to be here during the day while its still too early in the day to call it a day. Teito had already ordered a slice of chocolate cake, not exactly the healthiest menu item, but it would do, he had his container full of vitamins if he absolutely felt like he needed one. He picked up the book he had brought along and tuned the other people out. That would honestly be the only way he would be able to enjoy himself.

The voice startled Teito a bit, he glanced up over the thick book at the man who had taken a seat at his table. True he was a bit annoyed by this, but it was the only seat there that was open so he'd deal with it, after all this didn't make it obligatory for him to speak with the man.

"No its fine, its no trouble to me at all." he picked up a fork and picked off a piece of his cake before shoving it into his mouth, it was a bit too sweet for his tastes. He crinkled his nose in disgust, "Though if you order something I don't recommend the cake if you don't like your sweets extra sweet."

Endou had lived in Toshi City before. When he was younger, up through his teenage years, to be specific. He moved away for a couple years, but now he found himself back to his roots. He got a job at the school as the soccer coach, and he enjoyed his job. He really loved it, honestly. Nothing was better than spreading the love of soccer to the youth! Though he couldn’t really say much, seeing as he was a teen 5 years ago. 24 isn’t that old, he reminded himself. But it’s much older than he felt.

Walking around and getting to know Toshi City was today’s objective. Refresh his memory and all that. But he had been wondering around quite a bit and figured it was a good time for a break. It was cold out, breathing hot air onto his hands before rubbing them together and glancing around.

He decided he might as well head to the tea shop nearby, since tea sounded like the perfect drink for this kind of weather. Hurrying in, he noticed many people had the same idea as him. He sighed, ordering a simple herbal tea and looking around at a place to sit. No tables were open, but he spotted an empty seat at a table occupied by one person. Well, good enough.

He sat across from the stranger, smiling apologetically. “Sorry, there were no tables open, I hope you don’t mind if I sit here?”

Teito had wanted to help the child himself cause he felt bad for him, but he didn't know how to solve the problem. It made him quite frustrated, because he wasn't going to get himself up in that tree, he hated heights, couldn't stand them and would probably only get himself stuck in the tree instead of getting down the balloon. He watched from afar frowning to himself. A girl actually, he had no idea what was going, she propelled herself off of the bench and up onto the branch much like he had seen a cat do before. He was honestly as awestruck as the young boy was when she landed and handed him back the balloon. He had never seen anyone do something like that before.

"Wow...." Teito actually approached the girl despite how he would have usually acted, "how'd you do that?"

Was she some kind of world class gymnast? Maybe a human cat hybrid? Okay the latter was less likely to be true, but if he told them about this girl and what she had done would they believe him? Then again was this normal here? He didn't even think about that, after all different cultures could breed out different body types and the norms that fit their usual behaviors and such. Maybe it was all rather normal here and he was just over reacting because no one he knew could do that. 

If ever there was a bad omen about going out into the cold, it was a whining child standing in the middle of a park path, looking up at a Santa-shaped balloon that had become caught in the branch of a tree.

Rolling her eyes, she considered just going on, the idea of the hot chocolate that was waiting for her in a local cafe, egging her to ignore the kid. However, with a sigh, she made her choice. Be it a part of her maternal instinct or just the desire to stop the god awful noise that was cutting through the air.

With cat like finesse, the small Korean bounced onto the seat of a bench and onto the back before using the power in her legs to propelled her onto the lowest branch of the tree. 

Quickly she unhooked the cord and jumped down, crouching to absorb the shock of the landing. As the small boy looked at her, awestruck by her actions, she took his hand and tied the cable around his wrist.

All the while she was hoping no one saw her doing such a tomboyish thing. Standing up straight, she watched the child run off happily, feeling rather pleased with herself.

He didn't need nor want the help, well maybe he needed it, but he wasn't about to ask for it. He might be stubborn, but really he doesn't like causing problems for other people, stranger or not. His frown deepened and his eyebrows furrowed, what would he consider street smarts? Teito wasn't naive, he just had a strong urge to help those in need no matter who they may be or what they may look like

"I appreciate the offer, but I'm fine really."

What was he trying to do? Teito was actually starting to consider if he had an adequate collection of street smarts in order to make it by on his own. Maybe he shouldn't have moved so far away, Frau, Labrador, Castor, not even Mikage would be able to help him from here. Then again he's handled himself well ever since he can remember so maybe he'll be alright?

Where was he headed? He didn't want to share that info, but honestly it would be a public place and if he tried anything what so ever Teito knew what to do.

"The church, I'm headed there, I help out and study there whenever I'm free." That blonde better not dare make him regret sharing that piece of information with him, normally he wouldn't bother, but he was wasting time and would waste a lot more if he just wandered aimlessly for a few hours.

Teito was expecting something of an apology, maybe he'd help him pick his books off, you know the normal thing he'd expect from someone with his demeanor. It was just how he saw it all, but then again Teito hadn't always been a good judge of character.

What?

He hadn't bee expecting something like that at all, regardless of how he seemed the blonde just got a little snippy with him, even though he was partially to blame for the incident. He wasn't paying much attention himself, too absorbed in his own thoughts to notice the world around him. Well excuse him, its not like he had ran into him on purpose, that just didn't sit well with Teito and he was shooting the blonde a glare. He wasn't going to keep his mouth shut about this, it just wasn't him.

"Maybe you should start paying more attention to your surroundings!"

He crossed his arms over his chest watching as the other picked up his books, but Teito remained unswayed by that he took them back rolling his eyes at the blonde's need to add a bit of flare to just picking up a stack of books. To be honest he didn't want to talk to this guy still, just for different reasons than he had from before.

"Its fine whatever, I wasn't paying attention either." Teito shook his head, "I'm not... lost... not really...."

Now that he mentions it, where is he? He hadn't honestly watched where he was going and he had been trying to head straight for the church but.....

"I... er... I'm just fine I can find my way there I've been there plenty of times." More like twice.
