listen. if u like/reblog my posts fairly frequently, u better believe that i have noticed ok. even if we don’t ever talk. if we aren’t even mutuals! doesn’t matter. i see you. i see your URL pop up in my notifications every so often. and when it does? oh, when it does……… i’m like “oh hey there’s my buddy! gee i sure missed u pal!” and i get real happy for a minute ok. sorry, i don’t make the rules.

if you try to wake up early but still sleep in late sometimes, make big lists but can’t seem to complete many things, make art even though you have a habit of comparing yourself, study very hard because you want good grades, workout despite hating your body, try to be positive even though you’re going through a tough time, or try to change your ways and improve yourself even though you failed many times before…I see you. I know you’re doing your best and i’m proud of you. here’s a sign to keep going, it will be worth it.

a realization i had today: anxiety actually makes me have tunnel vision on the worst case scenarios. it focuses every bit of my attention on the thing that makes me worry. it makes me forget everything else. autopilot things like scrolling on my phone or ruminating can worsen it. broadening my attention with real things like sounds, physical sensations like breathing deeply or touching a soft fabric, being in a place with trees and nature where i can freely observe calming things, paying deep attention to the bass in a song, and truly noticing things around me can calm me and take away the tunnel vision that anxiety can give me.

Yes, losing your heart`s desire is tragic. But gaining your heart’s desire? That`s all you can hope for. This year I wished for love… to immerse myself in someone else and to wake a heart long afraid to feel. My wish was granted. And if having that is tragic, then give me that tragedy. Because I wouldn`t give it back for the world.

OMGG THERE ARE MORE STILLS!!! HE IS SINGING TO HER OMG WHAT DO YOU THINK??

WHEW. Okay. Let’s get into it.

Now, keep in mind I am analyzing over like, 4 stills so this is extremely subjective, I don’t write for the show, and I have no idea what actually will happen.

That being said, I was contemplating writing a dialogue scene off the bunker promo for next episode, and when I was considering it, I thought to myself: how would this go down? Would it be all cute romance, or would there be some angst? Would Archie be more in the position of longing, while Betty has some pent up anger about the situation? I think she most likely would.

And these pictures feel like I might just be right. To me, it seems as if Archie is very much ready to risk it all, very overwhelmed with how much he wants to be with Betty. Almost like, he just realized how much he cares, how much he has cared, and now he’s trying to pivot back to that moment three years ago, and change directions, change his mind, pick this girl. 

But Betty–Betty put herself on the line, three years ago. So when she found Jughead, she finally got to move on from something she probably felt she never really would. And while those feelings for Archie have always still been there, she may be finding it a little unfair that now Archie has “finally realized” how much they should be together, she’s supposed to just drop this 2+ year relationship with Jughead, a relationship that’s very serious with a person she loves very much, and put her faith in this guy who walked away when she told him she loved him. It’s why she didn’t even let him finish his sentence at the end of Season 1. She’s possibly very scared, and frustrated by things, and I don’t blame her. That doesn’t mean the feelings aren’t there, but there’s a deeper complexity to her situation, when you think about it. 

I can also see Archie getting swept up in the romance of the moment, and Betty being the realistic one to ask “what are we doing? we can’t just keep DOING this.” I can even see Archie wanting to tell Veronica and Jughead the truth, while Betty freaks out about that idea, because she’s not ready to lose Jughead. Archie acts without thinking, he goes on pure emotional impulse and Betty, well Betty operates on a totally different wave length, most of the time. 

Most of the time. 

Now, these bunker scenes land on two different days. So this is obviously a multiple meet up situation, and I think the order in which they happen says a lot. The conversation on the bed feels soft, loving…dangerously flirtatious. The song stills feel angsty, tense, anxious. So which scene comes first, may make all the difference. 

And finally: I am not saying that this is the start of Betty and Archie getting together. But I will say, I have always believed that in order for things to feel earned, Archie would have to pine over Betty, and work to earn her love. After everything that has happened previously, he has to be the one to pursue it harder, to win her over. So, if they are going there, i’d say that’s a good move.
