All the brainpower I've spent in the last few days working on my homebrew aboleth fight may have felt like taking psychic damage in real life, but it was all worth it when we got to start the fight today. Telling my players that a countdown started once they entered the reservoir that the aboleth was in led to some absolutely hilarious reactions (a chorus of "WAT" followed by my partner saying my full name with their whole chest), and thanks to the playtest that my girlfriend did yesterday, I felt super comfortable running my drowned zombies. We ended the session with the aboleth itself entering the initiative order, so i can't wait to see where things go from here next session.

We have finally (and I mean finally, we've been on hiatus again for the better part of the last three years due to work consistently burning me out) returned to the Phandelver campaign, and it feel so good! I've missed playing dnd with my friends so much, they're the best! May burnout never hit me this hard again, so fucking help me.

It is finally time to get through the dual story arc I started and rescue the party's loved ones, I can't wait. <3
