i like designing different tribes, so this will be fun. i hope ("plan") to do one design a week, which yeah is slow, but one art work a week for me is pretty incredible considering the three, four? year art slump ive been in

sea/sand hybrid of my friends @shyclaws oc !! first fullbody in a long time and i went so overboard on their design lmao

i wanted to make notes on the piece itself abt the specifics of keijj's seawing traits and sandwing traits, but i forgot, so under the cut is smth similar to what i was gonna write

"keiji is a coastal seawing/beach sandwing hybrid, living in a small village at the bay of a thousand scales. he is seawing presenting, though his sail is instead the fur/hair version sandwings are known for, and his base scales are a typical warm sand color of sandwings as well. his underbelly is also the coarse and thick fur that sandwings have that, as well as many other reasons, help with the sand. despite that, he has no tail barb, as well as no other significant sandwing traits.

'keiji is capable of breathing underwater for a few hours at the time and can use his luminary scales to comminate with other seawings. as a coastal seawing, his wings has both patterns of the beach shore and incoming waves that is common in coastal seawings, and the customary 'water droplets' on his ear and wing tips, typical of all seawings."

no further notes bc this is not my oc !! this is @/shyclaws sweet sweet boy keiji, and this was just me breaking down the difference tribe-wise of the tribes keiji is composed of (*^▽^*)

also ! coastal seawings are not their own tribe. each tribe usually have a few sub-tribes within them, dragons who are still apart of their parent tribe, but have taken on different traits due to living in different areas. this is really a me thing, but some other examples i have are of skywings, which have peak and crag variants, and nightwings, which have a cavern variant !! again, totally just a me thing

im a nerd who bioanalyzed fictional dragons, and i WILL share my theories

a redraw of a piece from 2024 ✌️ old piece under the cut aa

the goal is to do all the jade winglet, but considering thats what i tried to do last year and it didnt pan out, so idk BUT ill be doing another redraw of some old OLD peril art bc i love her

also i listened to asgore's theme on repeat for the majority of this drawing and it just kinda fits

old version from 2024 ! you can tell this was really just a ref w basic shading

still pretty proud of it considering the art vibe change since then, tho ill admit to dulling moons design down a little as the teardrops are supposed to be her main stand-out feature

also !! if anyone wants a little tangent on my nightwing traits, lmk !!! i have each tribe w different traits and looks to differentiate them a little more from each other as opposed to canon where the i think the biological link between each tribe is just a little too close for them to accurately have formed different tribes/subspecies
