Transforming lives through volunteering: The story of WeDidit
WeDidit is a nonprofit organization that focuses on building a better future by inspiring people to volunteer and grooming them to become empathetic future leaders.
Each day we see heart breaking news of children and adults dying from poverty, parents committing suicide as they are unable to provide food for their families, lack of education in our youth which propels the vicious cycle of poverty and injustice, animal cruelty and climate change.
How would you feel if I told you that all of these issues can be tackled and improved by you? Yes, you! You can make a positive impact on the lives of these individuals by volunteering and spending just a few hours of your time. Volunteering not only makes us feel accomplished and satisfied but also helps us become empathetic leaders to drive change in our world.
The organization was birthed by seven common folks having a strong desire to bring change, and the same reflects in their goals which have been borrowed from the sustainable development goals of the UN:
1.No poverty
2.Zero hunger
3.Good health and well being
4.Quality education
5.Gender equality
6.Clean water and sanitation
7.Affordable and clean energy
8.Decent work and economic growth
9.Reducing inequality
10.Responsible consumption and production
11.Climate action
To achieve these goals for a better future we have the most important role to fulfill. Volunteer to help clean our rivers and ocean, participate in reforestation activities, education of slum children, visiting old age homes and orphanages, distribution of food kits, making ecofriendly choices etc.
Even if you are unable to volunteer due to personal circumstances, you can still cash in on its benefits by doing whatever little you can individually by not littering plastic and reducing its consumption as much as possible, feeding birds and stray animals around you, careful use water and natural resources, sharing food with the needy etc.
If you are interested to make the world a better place for a brighter tomorrow don’t hesitate to visit www.wedidit.in to contribute towards a positive global change.
Happy Volunteering!

Demystifying Indian law for a common man
If you have ever watched the movie ‘Oh My God’ you will understand how tedious and cumbersome a court trial can be. Kanji Mehta the protagonist can be seen in the movie struggling to understand law, how to file a case, finding legal help etc. I believe that if Kanji had read ‘Indian law for a common man’ he would have spared himself a significant amount of headache and trouble, though I suppose that wouldn’t be good for the movie’s run time
This book ‘Indian law for a common man’ written by Sree Krishna Seelam is just that. It’s another phenomenal book written by the author of 5 killer habits. This book helps its readers to understand the basic fundamentals of Indian law in a mere span of 3 hours. It is written in an easy to read and comprehend manner and does a great job at explaining and simplifying complex matters and legal jargon for a common man with no knowledge of the legal system.
The book begins with a question - Why know the law, and the answer is to know our rights and obligations so that we can live in harmony with the society. The book is divided into sixteen chapters which include our preamble, fundamental rights and duties, the judicial system, criminal law, family law, property law, labor and employment law, Taxation and finance etc. which are further explained in a simple manner.
The book features a chapter towards the end which acts like a comprehensive guide detailing the steps to be taken from filing a case to discussing alternate methods for solving a dispute outside the courtroom, which I believe will be of tremendous help for people looking to do so in addition to the basic knowledge of the law.
The author ends the book by encouraging the readers to fulfill their obligations as a part of the society by voting in elections by realizing the tremendous authority we hold by understanding the phrase in our preamble” we the people of India”.
He urges us to actively participate in public talks to keep the law makers accountable and to keep the law alive and useful for the society. He also urges us to become aware of our rights so that we cannot be manipulated and can stand strong and be able to help others to build a fair and equal society.
If you want to understand your rights better and want to take part in building a free and fair society then make sure to grab your free copy of the e book by clicking the link https://www.amazon.in/Indian-Law-Common-Man-fundamentals/dp/B0CW67QKTG
Happy reading!

5 Killer habits by Sree Krishna Seelam : A killer review
Do you ever dream about beating the bad guys, saving the world and being a hero, but wake up to see that you were wrestling the deathly chokehold of your bed sheet? Nothing to be embarrassed about, I guess we’ve all been there and done that. If you are also like me who is bursting with enthusiasm to be successful and give back to our society but can’t seem to do so, you should definitely give ‘5 killer habits’ by Sree Krishna Seelam a try!
This book is a complete and comprehensive guide for people like us who don’t know how to channel and direct their energy towards their goal. It’s written in an easy to read and comprehend language and is filled with examples of the author walking the talk.
In his book the author talks about 5 killer habits that are fundamental to achieve success and to become a rebel. He urges us to become rebels and lead the way for a better future. Sounds pretty cool right? But he doesn’t want us to become rebels in the negative sense of the word, rather in the words of the author himself “A rebel is someone who thinks differently from most of the people in the society, who takes nothing that was told without valid logic and is someone who leads and cares for his people.”
In this book the author talks about the following 5 habits to achieve success, wake up early, be a hero by volunteering, be a dromomaniac, live 100 lives and stay curious.
Wake up Early
The early bird catches the worm.
I believe we have all heard this phrase for as long as we can remember, still that cannot take away its truth. Now to the dismay of all night owls including me, it has been scientifically proven that waking up early is a key habit to develop discipline and achieve success. But fret not fellow Nocturnals! Good habits can be developed and bad ones can be broken, just that it requires a tad bit more effort and discipline than lying on the couch and reading about it. Oops, sorry for the personal jab ;-). Sleeping well for a good 7-8 hours helps to wake up feeling well rested. The early morning hours are also the best time to make any important decision. Also waking up and working in the wee morning hours, when the world is sleeping under a warm blanket as we struggle against its pull makes us feel like we accomplished a lot doesn’t it?
Become a hero by volunteering
What does it mean to be a hero? More importantly what does it take to become one? A hero is an ordinary individual who volunteered or sacrificed a part of their time, resources or even their life for the sake of a cause greater than their own. So how do we become a hero? Anyone who has the burning desire to uplift and help others has the potential to become one. The easiest way is to start by volunteering. The habit of ‘giving’ helps to build a strong character, and fosters a sense of self satisfaction and happiness. It helps us to develop a sense of purpose and become better leaders. Volunteer to protect our planet, donate blood and remain a hero even after death by becoming an organ donor.
Become confident by solo travelling
Since time immemorial humans have thirsted to discover lands – unknown, far beyond and shrouded in mystery. Our curiosity is what led us to navigate unimaginable weather conditions, waves as tall as skyscrapers and torrential storms all with just a compass as a guide for months to years. The travel logs and journals of Vasco da Gama, Ibn Battuta etc. have baffled and inspired many for generations to come. Travelling teaches us what books don’t, it helps us to get out of our comfort zone and broadens our horizon. When we travel solo, we are able to let go of our inhibitions and achieve a higher level of self-introspection and confidence. It breaks down barriers and boundaries and helps us to look at people as they truly are, fellow humans like you and me trying to figure out life. Most importantly it helps us to appreciate the beauty of our planet and the delicate balance holding up our ecosystem.
Live a hundred lives
It’s good to learn from your mistakes. It’s better to learn from other people’s mistakes.
– Warren Buffet
How privileged would you feel if you could learn from the mistakes of the most successful and influential people in the world? That’s what reading books helps you to do in addition to expanding your knowledge beyond the study curriculum. It helps us to learn from others mistakes, view different perspectives and understand the human psyche. Reading helps us to become better and insightful human beings.
Stay curious and question everything
If we looked at the world through the eyes of a child how much more simple and pleasant could life be? Unfortunately, as we age, we kill our childlike curiosity and the freedom to question, to ask ‘why?’. We need to reawaken this curiosity and wonder and not hesitate to question authority, laid down rules, religious beliefs and practices. Question the status quo, blind faith and anything that’s shoved down your throat!
Reading this book helps us to inculcate these fundamental habits in our daily life. The author doesn’t just tell us to do them but makes us realise their importance by using examples and interviews with a 1000 senior citizens.
If you have come this far in the blog then pat yourself on your back and congratulations! You my friend are already ahead than the others by accepting that you need to change your situation. Feel free to grab your copy of the free e book at https://amzn.in/d/8RmM3Fiand become a rebel today!
