2025 Anniversary Art - Baobhan Sith

its been a little while since the last one so like this for a little starter!

● "I... I suppose that makes sense? Why do you need to sit, though? Do you get tired? Do your legs get sore?" Her understanding of robots was clearly lacking.

"Well. That's a good question."

N turns his whole body around to try to get a glimpse of his robo-butt, his tail trailing after him as he does, but he can't get a great view.

"Not biologically like a human, I guess! But I do have a rear! It's just uh...for sitting?"

● "If I could figure out where they lived, I would." She understood the basics of modern technology, but nowhere near enough to figure out where someone was housed based on their IP address.

"I wouldn't kill them, though. Do humans like or dislike having eggs thrown at them?" She had to brainstorm.

"People often feel emboldened to speak freely online, unfortunately. What they fail to realize is that since we're all in the same city, we're bound to come across each other someday."

"I don't think it's just a human problem, but I do think they'd be wrong to cross you. You seem like the type to show up at someone's doorstep."

● "Since when was this a game? Baking is life or death!" A new reliance on television for entertainment was to blame for giving the fairy such an interesting slogan to fall back on. Maybe she needed to pull back on the Baking Wars viewings a little bit? She had a bad habit of taking things she saw on TV as reality when she couldn't tell when things were being hammed up for entertainment's sake.

Baobhan Sith waited with bated breath to see what her girlfriend's opinion of her cookies would be. She could have taken what turned out to be an "inevitable" victory as a moment to turn smug, but she ended up blushing with happiness inside. "I-It wouldn't go to my head! You could praise me a little more, couldn't you!?"

"Besides." She moved quickly, sliding in front of Eula so that she was stuck between the fairy and the counter, where she grabbed the counter and pulled herself closer to press up against her partner, and her partner against the counter. "You waged something else on them being good, didn't you?"

"Why, Baobhan Sith, I thought you enjoyed games!" she quips back, that teasing tone still apparent. Baobhan was always so confident when she had the upper hand, but now it was Eula's turn to be smug about it. And unfortunately for the fairy, she intended to ride this out for as long as she could.

As Baobhan presents her finished product, the knight takes a moment to let them sit and inspect it. The presentation is nice, the aroma is good, and she could ignore her reckless disregard for oven mittens, despite wanting to say something.

Servants, she thought. They never paid any mind to what normal humans regarded as essential...

But that's besides the point. After taking a cookie off the platter, she bites into it. And it's...good. Excellent, even, to have been her first foray into baking. "It seems the princess is not so spoiled that she can't whip up a decent batch of cookies after all." Sure, it's a jab at her, but it's all in light fun. "I'd give you more praise, but it'd go right to your head."

● "They would tell me to take my own life. After all, they would never manage to do it." Some punk on the internet could never hope to kill a fairy, much less a Servant.

"Humans feel too comfortable slinging insults from behind a screen. There's no accountability."

"...Ah," Well, that explains a lot. It's rather extreme, but it does track.

"I think they were simply...matching your energy? Since you threatened them, they did it back. They're saying you should take your own life. But considering the context, I'd say you were in your right, yes."

● "I-It's not!" Baobhan was quick to bark back, although her cheeks burning redder wasn't about to convince anyone. Eula had always known how to push her buttons, even before they started dating. She was still good at it! But she was much more teasing with it than she used to be. It often led to them try to one up each other playfully.

It took her a moment to process what her partner had said after she was kissed and pulled down. "Hold on! Eula Lawrence, are you going to withhold..." She had the sense to say the next word so quietly that only Eula could hear it before returning to her usual volume. "...from me over cookies!?"

It was the best timing in the world that led her oven to ding, signaling that her cookies had finished baking. She gave Eula a defiant look before heading over and pulling them out without an oven mitt. A little warm, but not enough to burn a Servant. "Go on. Try one. They're going to blow you away." Was that a promise or a threat?

At this point, the knight has forgotten that her creation has yet to be put in the oven. Her main focus had now shifted to flustering Baobhan, and it seemed to be working. As much as the princess tried to keep her cool, it was obvious to Eula that it was getting to her. "I think it's weighing more on yours, really." Judging from the dusty pink gracing her cheeks, it was hard not to come to that conclusion.

This may be setting herself up for failure, but it's not about that anymore. In fact, she's silently conceded defeat by doing this anyway. Eula leans in close now until her lips are a mere breath away from the fairy's, but just as she's about to seal the deal, the timer for Baobhan's cookies goes off. As reluctant as she is, she knows they should do something about that, but not before giving her a quick peck as she finally lets her down from the countertop.

"It seems we'll have to continue later, though I should warn you that it wholly depends on how good your cookies are," she's teasing, of course.

● "Wicked wiles, you say?" Baobhan teased as she narrowed her eyes and smirked. "I've been accused of a lot worse than playing dirty, you kn- H-Hey!?" Just when she thought she was in control of the situation, Eula effectively pinned her against the counter and hoisted her up. Crap! Her fatal weakness of freezing up when being advanced upon suddenly had been used against her!

"I can't exactly do anything up here", she complained with her gray cheeks painted blush. Not only was that probably the point, but she had nothing to do! "What am I going to do? Look pretty? Well... I guess I'm pretty good at that!" Archer's composure returned little by little as she watched her girlfriend work.

"I imagine you're only setting yourself up for failure, right? Having to look at such a pretty girl sitting on your counter like this? It must be hard on your mental! Hehehe..."

Often, she forgets that Baobhan is much stronger than she is. Strength, dexterity, and just about everything else in between were skills she outranked the knight in by a long shot. She's reminded when she's put at the mercy of the princess's quick reaction in taking control before she has time to do anything.

Eula could only huff as the other leaned against her shoulder. Cute as she was, she was also very distracting...so distracting in fact that Eula hadn't even put her cookies in the oven! Unwilling to admit defeat but also just as equally not wanting to move from her current position, she lets Baobhan have her way. "Distracting the competition by using your wicked wiles...hmph. It's cheating."

"And I have no tolerance for underhanded tactics." Even if it'd been her original idea, how dare Baobhan get ahead of her!? Finally, she moves to pin the other against the counter and lifts Baobhan so that she sits on top. "I demand that you play fair."

● "I'd say you took the words right out of my mouth, but..." Baobhan didn't consider her relationship with the other Fairy Knights to be great. They had been peers, but she didn't really know if they had ever been friends. Especially when the Archer herself had been the most difficult to get along with of the group.

Still, she also knew what it was like to depreciate oneself. "Ah. Could it be that you're a bigger idiot than I thought?" She wasn't going to sugarcoat her words even now, though!

"If I can find someone, just what the hell is stopping you? The bar is literally in hell. Put yourself down like that and you'll never stand a chance." Baobhan Sith was the golden standard of "people who didn't deserve a second chance but had gotten one anyways".

It was plain as day Mélusine hit the nail right where it needed to be. But ever the one to try and move the conversation on from topics she didn't prefer Baobhan decided to shift focus over to the other fae knight. A topic she knew she wasn't well versed in but now had to talk about, regardless of how the outcome would show itself.

"Why would anyone fall for me?" Despite the tone in her voice there was a hint of desire to be with someone. Sure her Master was one person but finding someone who'd care and love her just like they did Baobhan felt like an impossibility.

"...Besides it'd only cause heartbreak in the end. Love and I don't exactly get along swimmingly. Even if it does sound nice I'd rather keep it a distance away from me."

● "Do robots even have butts? What purpose would they even serve?" As a fairy, she could hardly comprehend modern technology. She didn't know a thing about things that were more futuristic.

"Oh."

"No wait, you're totally right! I described that in the most confusing way, haha! My bad! LMAO is laughing my ass off but I'm not currently doing that so that's probably why I said it that way!"

● "Do you need some help with these zombies? It certainly looks like you'll be killed if they managed to break through this barrier..."

"I might consider it if you ask nicely. Oh, and agree to buy a pair of heels from my shop when this is all over!" Its not extortion when you're offering a service!

● "Pretty serious? Well, they said something rude about my mother at which point I told them I told them I'd skin them alive if they ever attempted to shoot her with a firearm. That was when they said it. I think I was within my right!"

'They come up with new abbreviations every month, I'm afraid...I even bought a book to try to keep up but even this is outdated."

"...Though what exactly did you say to get someone to tell you to KYS? It's pretty serious."

● Luckily enough for the pair of them, all it took was pouring a few for the Archer to recognize that she had picked up the bag of raisins and not the bag of chocolate chips. She did her best to undo her mistake without Eula noticing, but any attempts at being discreet would probably be picked up upon while she plucked them out of the batter and tossed them into the garbage.

Eula's words gave her an opportunity to try something flirty of her own once she'd put her project into the oven. "Oh? What's that about offering me a hand? Why accept an offer..."

She scooted close and grabbed the knight's hand in her own before she could react. Was she abusing her Servant reflexes? Yup! "When I can just take it!" Followed by a leaning against Eula's shoulder.

Eula knows that that bag is full of raisins, but does she say anything to correct her? Of course, she doesn't. Chin in hand, leaning against the countertop, the knight takes a moment to watch the other before continuing with her own cookies. "Hm...a good choice," It's an earnest compliment, though she can't help but chuckle at Baobhan being cheerful.

"If you need help, I may be able to offer you a hand...for a price." she edges a little bit closer, still propped against the counter. What's a little friendly flirting in between baking? It kept things interesting!

● "Huh. Well if you say so. I don't necessarily feel any differently when I'm around her." She shrugged and lied, not because she actually thought that Melusine was wrong, but because she wasn't the type of woman that admitted her true feelings easily. Even despite her words she was looking off to the sides with her gray cheeks tickled pink.

She was getting a little shy, in fact. Derailing the conversation became the natural course of action. At least focusing on something other than herself! But what?

"Ah!", she exclaimed like she'd made a sudden, important realization. "But what about you? You've been in this city a long time too. Has anyone fallen for a brat like you?"

"Probably wouldn't hurt" didn't sound any bit encouraging. Not that she doubted Baobhan's abilities in a case like this but more closer to being cautious. A simple mistake here might be a bit serious, especially when something as dangerous as "love" was involved.

"I can tell the difference. Even if she is a human you look and act infinitely more happier then you ever have." Beryl really was an outlier, someone that managed to grab onto a strand and wriggle his way into all of their lives. Had Aurora or anyone else in charge given the order Mélusine wouldn't have felt any remorse at killing him either. A being with nothing good coming from him at all.

"Regardless of what you do for this Eula I'm sure what matters more is that it's from your own personal self more then anything. If she's just as happy as you are to be together then that much should be obvious."

● "...Huh?" One of those didn't make sense, right? "If it was "laughing your ass off", wouldn't it be LYAO?" That wasn't the biggest issue with what he had said. It wasn't an issue at all, in fact!

"Oh don't worry, I got you! I'll explain every single one to you, 'kay?"

"So LOL means laughing out loud, LMAO is laughing your ass off, and KYS is keep yourself safe!"

● "Why is it when humans communicate via the internet they're always using abbreviations for everything? LOL... LMAO... KYS... I don't know what half of these mean!"
