I just didn't have time to really research it - and I didn't know that much about Floyd aside from his appearance with the WWE - and on the Colbert Report (and that TMZ like coverage of him and 50 Cent acting clownish about @beyonce 's and @officials_c_ 's baby) As there has been a great misunderstanding about how I think and feel - I didn't want my fondness of @mannypacquiao as a person - and the recognition that the Philippines doesn't have too many heroes - taint the fact that even though Floyd presents himself to be something different than Manny - that I don't respect his skill. Floyd has the right to market himself anyway he wants. Does he like our President?! President @barackobama ?! Because I think Barack Obama is trying to be a Champion for ALL people. Floyd doesn't seem to be on team Obama - he seems to be on team Mayweather. And that's fine. I'll respect him as an INCREDIBLE athlete - and respect his punching power. He just isn't a type of Champion for all peoples. But to look at things through his perspective - perhaps Floyd's life has been such that nobody has looked out for him - but him. So I'm not going to judge him. regram @artnewsafrica National Museum Jamaica, in collaboration with the Rastafari Millennium Council, invites the public to its first major special exhibition at the Montego Bay Cultural Centre, Sam Sharpe Square on Saturday, May 2 at 4:00pm. It is the inaugural and historic special exhibition of the new National Museum West. The show will run until May 2016. At the official launch on Saturday, there will be a short opening followed by visits to the exhibition. Dubselector Gabre Selassie of Rockers Sound System and Dub Club fame will be performing. Director of the National Museum of Jamaica, Dr. Jonathon Greenland, shed some light on the significance of this exhibition: “This exhibition will be hugely significant in many ways. Rastafari is a liberation movement that developed in Jamaica during the 1930’s. It was marginalized and suppressed for many years. However, today there are few parts of the world that have not been impacted by this movement. I think everyone can agree that this is an extraordinary journey and we seek to celebrate and explore the contribution of so many remarkable individuals.
