I do apologize beforehand as I've never written for them before, so this might come off as a bit OOC. <3

Why were they doing this? Erd didn't know, or rather he pushed that thought far away from his mind, as he continued to help most of the squad to prepare for the holiday that was...approximately in twenty four hours.

Yeah. No pressure there.

Everyone seemed to be in the holiday mood--or, well, Hanji had started to spread it to the point of most people going insane at her chattering. Although, truth be told, she just really wanted to go out, but Petra had chained her to the room, saying if she did not help everyone prepare the Christmas dinner for tomorrow, there was going to be problems. 

"Mike!" Petra called out to the taller male, and a few moments later, he appeared in the kitchen. "Yes?" He asked, having a candy cane between his mouth. Instead of speaking, Petra did her best effort to push Mike into the kitchen--near the stoves.

"You're on baking duty with Erd, okay? We need this done soon...otherwise..." she trailed off, a shiver going up and down her spine at the thought of Levi coming in and seeing the mess they have made as a certain older male did not want to clean it up. A few profanities left her lips; something along the lines of 'dammit, Auruo!'

"I don't need any help, you know," came Erd's reply before a string of curses left his mouth as he almost drop the plates. Silence fell upon the three of them, with Petra crossing her arms, smirking to herself, whilst Mike continued to chew on his candy cane quietly, but he seemed incredibly amused. Turning around to face them, he pointed at both of them.

"Not. A. Word."

From there on, Petra left them alone as she attended other duties--making sure she had plenty of excuses to give the Corporal to go out and get more things before he could come back home. Auruo was leaving everything to the others, before Petra found him and gave him one good lashing.

Back with Mike and Erd, they seemed to be doing progress...somewhat. Most of the main course was done, after pleading for Petra to come back and give them a woman's touch, before they deemed it ready to devour later. Now, they were stuck making dessert and Erd was failing completely.

"You're adding too much suga--"

"I know."

"Mix them well, otherwise they'll taste horrible."

"I know."

"Erd--"

Putting down the spoon rather roughly, he turned towards the tall male, anger noticeable on his features. "FINE! I DON'T KNOW! Why don't you do this--" motioning over to the weird concoction he's made "and I'll gladly stand there, and watch you work."

And that's how they basically went--back and forth, taking turns in finishing most of the sweets. Erd finally calmed down and seemed to be talking with Mike every once in awhile before Mike would take over, saying he wasn't doing it--that the food smelled bad. Curse Mike and his god-given nose.

It took them a few hours, and they were done. They scrambled to hide the food in the fridge as the Corporal got home and Petra ushered him to take a bath and go to bed before she placed most of the presents under the Christmas tree. But, Erd could not fall asleep, as he felt somewhat guilty for treating Mike rudely the day before Christmas. Although Mike said to not worry about it, Erd did quite the opposite--he worried, hard. 

Sleep did not come to him until the wee hours of Christmas, were he was rudely awakened by something hitting him in the face. Before he could even utter a word, Mike had thrown him yet another present to his face.

"Wake up--everyone's downstairs. Here's your presents," Mike said, then carefully opened one of the candy canes he took from Petra and popped it into his mouth. Meanwhile, Erd was surprised at having a few presents thrown to him, but that wasn't what had his tongue caught by a feline. Both presents were from Mike--and that alone seemed to send weird butterflies to dance around his stomach.

"...Mike, wow, I don't have anything to give you.." The man murmured, slightly embarrassed at being caught red-handed. He was never a Christmas person--he preferred to sleep the day away and read a book, so this caught him completely off guard, not that he minded.

"You could marry me."

"Are you bloody mad?!"

Although, the red tints on Erd's face did not leave him until the late evening.

Ah, hello! I know that I haven’t been online in quite a while, and even when I have it hasn’t been a lot. I just wanted to make a Christmas follow forever to sort of say that I’m back here! This is also to thank all the people that make roleplaying as Hinata enjoyable for me, as well as those that give me a reason to get back on here, and whose blogs I enjoy.
