The Fall of the Shepherd

Set in an Alternate Universe, During the End of the Final Battle Against Heldalf. Sorey knowing the consequences of his Actions, Had Decided to leave Rose behind, to keep her safe. However what he didn’t know, Alisha had been following them, this entire time and leaped down with him to where the final Showdown was about to be taken place. 

Upon entering Heldalf’s Throne. Sorey Gazes towards where the Lord of Calamity, sat, waiting for their arrival in his grimace expression. Showing he waited patiently, but same time grew tired of their nuisances. Propping himself up, Heldalf made a Gruff Sound and simply sensed another presence nearby, but kept it to himself for the time being. “ So you have finally Arrived, Young Shepherd. Came looking for Vengeance? Or did you came to follow those foolish Ideals you uphold, dearly. Which is it? “ The Lord asked in a Stern yet questionable tone of Voice. 

Sorey answered without hesitation like he usually does “ That is something you don’t get to know! “ hearing such a Answer, The Lord of Calamity, sighed, pushing himself off his throne and standing his Ground. “ A world where all who know pain... It is a indisputable that every creature yearns to be liberated from this senseless suffering. “ He approaches the Group, Causing Mikleo to be startled slightly. “ Why do you continue to Fight back, Young Shepherd? “ He questioned the other once more. Awaiting for a more suitable answer. Sorey sighed and responded. “ That is true, your Ideals of a world without suffering may benefit everyone, if not, all. But, I do not agree your method and solution to do, is the right way of doing it. “ The Seraphims agreeing with Sorey, Once more Heldalf gruffed. “ It’s a pity. Why couldn’t you all just sit back and follow the laws of Nature. I rather not hear your next answer. Now. Let me ask you one more Time. Join me, Young Shepherd, You have great potentials within you, that not even you have realized just yet. Don’t you see? This path you have taken already has a preset of Rules for you, Doesn’t that contradicts your logic? “ Sorey thought about it, just that mere moment, of hesitation, Mikleo called out his name, Sorey, shaking his head refused to listen to anymore of Heldalf’s accusations. “ I will never surrender to Darkness! “ 

Heldalf remained quiet, but immediately his expression turned to a Twisted smile, before giving out a laughter to his answer. “ I enjoy that rebellious Eyes you have. Such passion yet.. you hesitated only for a Second. Shows your Faith is not as Solid as you may think it is. Now to rid of any possible eyesore that comes in between us. “ Snapping his fingers, every Seraphim in the room was temporarily immobilized. Except for Sorey and Heldalf. “ All better. Deny it all you want, but deep down, I know you are like me. If you were in my shoes, you’d understand exactly how I feel. As matter of fact. I know a way to crush your resolve. The very thing that made what you are now today. “ The Lord spoked, circling Sorey, whom was unable to budge but kept his glare at heldalf at all times. Noticing the Lord approaching him some more, he felt helpless. He must act or he would be infected by pure malevolence. Before any concerns reached him, a Spear was thrown directly at Heldalf who was impaled to his right shoulder, roaring in pain. Alisha, Came running out of her hiding spot, and placed a hand upon Sorey’s shoulders, breaking the Bind Spell. “ Alisha!? Why are you here? “ Alisha gazes back at him and spoke “ I came to fight with you, you don’t need to burden yourself anymore. I told you before, I will gladly help you in any way I could “ Sorey was speechless but formed a smile, while the two shared a Gentle Demeanor, the air became still less, 

As if time had stopped. Sorey, felt it, he tried to speak but nothing came out. Alisha, stood there puzzled, as heldalf came out from behind her, before she could react, Heldalf strucked her from behind, Causing Alisha to gasp, with blood spilling from her Mouth, Sorey eyes widens, in that moment he cried out. “ ALISHA!!!! “. He rushed over to her, catching her, while this caused everyone to be freed, Lailah and Mikleo rushes over to Alisha, attempting to preform Healing Artes on her, Though Zavied had known its too late. Sorey, holding Alisha in his arms as he showed face of Horror and sadness. Alisha, quietly, and weakly opened her eyes, slowly, raising her hand, placing a hand to his cheeks, she formed a weak smile and confessed her emotions to him. “ Ah.. I guess.. this is it for me. I have no regrets of coming here. I knew the risk.. you helped so many people, you even saved me from time to time..I felt so powerless, I sometimes feel..I wanted to give up, but you were always there for me. So I..wanted to be by yourside one more time..Thank you Sorey.. for everything... I...” She shed tears mouthing her, final words before she went limp. Sorey eyes widens further with tears welling up within his eyes. Lailah and the others looked away in sadness and despair, But Lailah quickly tried to put it aside, to reform, and must fight now. Sorey however didn’t Budge. In his mind, flashbacks ran backwards, To now, his journey, the beginning and finally the day he met Alisha. It was her, who encouraged him to come with her to this world. To meet his destined Fate as a Shepherd. Sorey eventually laid her down gentle, and stood, but almost immediately he ignored Lailah’s orders and shoved Mikleo away harshly. Giving him questionable looks. Sorey approaches Heldalf, and did nothing. Heldalf glares at him but smirks. “ She was your true Weakness. The very thing that will tempt the Shepherd to the very feelings, your companion been trying to shield you from. How does it feel? Shepherd Sorey. “ With that, Sorey’s eyes were exposed. Rage, Anger and above all else, Purest Hatred. He quickly gripped heldalf’s throat, in a tight grip, while Lailah called out to him to stop, and dont be consumed to the malevolence. “ Grrh!.. Go ahead, one more step and you’ll be no different from her.. Velvet Crowe. “ Sorey paused but tighten the grip harder before he yelled out loudly, with all his might, without using purification, he strangled the Lord of Calamity to Death, but Heldalf smiled in a content expression.

“ You have done it, you have finally see where your true place lies. “ Before he was being absorbed into Sorey’s body. But before Edna and mikleo could say anything, All four felt a Crack. Their connection to Sorey was severed. Lailah’s pact to Sorey was nullified. “ Sorey.. what have you done!? “ Lailah questioned, as Edna made a disapproval expression, while Mikleo tried to put his hand to Sorey’s shoulder, only to have Sorey swat him away. “ Sore--” Before he can respond, Sorey responded “ Go. Go back to the surface and Leave here with Rose. Do it now before I do something I will regret even more. “ He said, as Zavied sighed. “ You know Kid, you don’t have to go down that path, It’s perfectly normal to feel that way. But if thats your wish, then Guess theres nothing we can do here right? “ Sorey was speechless, as Edna shook her head and begin to head off. “ He made his choice. He is right about another thing. This place is filled with too much Malevolence, we can’t stay here much longer. “ With Edna and Zavied half wholeheartedly respecting his wishes. Lailah was heartbroken  but  nodded. While Mikleo lashed back at him. Before he could do, Zavied growled, using his powers, he restrained Mikleo and pulled everyone up to the surface to meet with Rose. 

Sorey stood there while he turned around to carefully lift up Alisha’s body, while he made his way to a Earthpulse Opening. While walking, something begin to change, his appearance was slowly turning from White to Black, until his outfit was fully altered. He carried the lifeless Alisha, without saying anything until he left this place, and appeared in Lohgrin. Approaching the site where Earthen Historia field of Flowers. There was a hole in the floor where a bottomless lake rested. Sorey, despite changed in appearance, he laid Alisha within the pool of shallow water. Gently he placed her on the shallow watery floor and pressed his forehead to hers. " I'm sorry.. I turned out not to be the shepherd you had hoped me to become. All I can do is.. absorb the malevolence much as I can.. and then wait for Demise at the end... Sleep Well.. Alisha." He spoked as he stood while he left the burial site. Sorey knows, he did exactly what he been  enduring. The temptation. To save his friends from being afflicted by Malevolence, he severed his ties with them, as a act of kindness. Sorey knew deep down, he will lose his humanity, little by little. and Succumb to the very thing he once told Heldalf that he would never be. ‘ I wont give into darkness! ‘ Yet here he stands. Inflicted with Darkness. Slowly he stepped out of the Tower and gazes into the skies. The skies was gloomy, the world was saved, but not in the way he would had wanted. He absorbed the malevolence from Heldalf, would me he is a threat to the world as well. Deciding to continue his duties as a Fallen shepherd, until the day when a new shepherd takes his mantle, and comes seek for him. In a way, he is considered the New Lord of Calamity.
