Introducing our very first ever… 🎃 SCHMAULTOBER 🎃

If you’re familiar with art events like Mermay or Inktober, we’ve decided to put out our own list of Fallout themed art prompts for the month of October.

If you post your artwork online, please tag us @thefalloutwiki on twitter, tumblr, instagram, and bluesky and use the hashtag #Schmaultober2024 on your post.

All submissions must be original, don’t copy someone else. This includes using any type of “AI Generated” submissions.

All submissions have to be Fallout themed! This includes fan art, fan characters, mashups, alternate universes, etc. As long as the submission follows the respective theme. You can either do a drawing for the daily prompt, or a drawing based on the corresponding week’s theme.

All content added to these pages and the site overall must abide by content and site policies - keep it PG-13.

For OC-tober, let's celebrate the blorbos from our brains! Write about, draw, or otherwise share and have fun with original characters of your own creation!

Year 8!! This year I wanted to change things up a little bit, so in this sketchbook I went through and randomly splattered ink on every page, which I'll have to work with when drawing the prompts for each day :)

INKTOBER 2024 ALTERNATIVE PROMPT LIST BABY!!

This year I offer you OcScrapTober, yet another OC focused prompt list to make you create Scrapbook-themed art of your characters!

Tips on how to personalize each prompt:

Add short phrases, descriptions, comments or titles

Add doodles and stickers (ex: hearts, mustaches, emojis…)

Make short sequences of pictures if you have a bigger scene in mind, or make a scene that includes the picture or focuses on it

Don't always keep it as "posing for the picture": the characters don't necessarily have to know they're being photographed!

Change the canvas size, or even the shape!

The prompts don't have to be used to make a photo if you don't want to!!

I decided to go for a 16 prompts list again to not make this too heavy to follow. I know making a drawing each day for 31 days can be stressful- I don't want this challenge to be a "rush to the next prompt" kind of thing, it gotta be something nice to look back at

OcScrapTober The idea is making a scrapbook for your OCs. This means the prompts are meant for drawing pictures that can also be decorated with stickers, doodles and such to add that extra touch

[1-2] First day: Of school? Of work? Whatever it is, a first day is always a big day! [3-4] Birthday: Party, friends and cake! Or maybe some lonely birthday angst… [5-6] Family: Show off your OC's blood related peeps (or their found family, there's never enough of that!) [7-8] Torn pic: A picture that was torn apart or cut. Why? Who was in it? And who ruined it? [9-10] Music: Listening to music, at a concert, or maybe something based on a lyrics! [11-12] Winter: Christmas, snow, warm clothes… Show something from the cold weather! [13-14] Summer: Colorful clothes, sun burnt skin, ice-cream… Show something from the hot weather! [15-16] Doodles: Break day!! No pictures today: make some decorative doodles your OC would draw instead! [17-18] Sleepy: Someone fell asleep… Click! [19-20] Who took this picture?!: Whoever did, they didn't have permission! [21-22] Sorry: Someone owns an apology. But is it a serious or silly apology? [23-24] Special Interest: What's your OC's big interest? (tip: for this day you can follow the journaling technique. For example, make a picture that comes from a newspaper or a website) [25-26] Pets: What pet owner doesn't have a picture of their animal buddy? Yeehawgust 2024: Greener Pastures

Saddle up, folks! We’ve got greener pastures on the horizon, because it’s time for Yeehawgust’s 6th year this August!

Yeehawgust features daily art prompts as well as alternative weekly prompts, for those of us who are a bit slower on the draw. Don’t draw at all? No problem! Submit any art at all, be it illustration, comics, writing, fanfiction, photography, embroidery, sculpture, music, or whatever other creative endeavors you might enjoy. All skill levels are welcome, and this can be a great opportunity to experiment with new styles and techniques. 

Maybe you love media like Red Dead Redemption and Fallout: New Vegas, or classic westerns like The Magnificent Seven. You might enjoy the genre, and you’re looking for a chance to make a cowboy AU and put your OCs in chaps and your blorbos in a Stetson. Heck, maybe you just really want to draw horses.
