His family is a little bit complicated- at least, explaining it to people can become a bit strenuous. His dads wanted a kid but they couldn’t agree on who should be the sperm donor for their surrogate mother, so they sort of... just... threw it all in there with the promise that they wouldn’t check the kid’s DNA. The kid would be both of theirs. End of story.

Only Jessica ended up giving birth to twins and well... Freddie being Freddie... he just had to know. He’s known since they were toddlers that Grant was genetically his and that ___ was genetically William’s and sometimes he’s found himself playing favourites.

Grant is sceptical about whether or not his dads even love each other. He thinks Freddie just got himself into some shady dealings and just never dug his way out. Not that they don’t seem happy, he’s just suspicious of the origin story.

He has been low-key dating Holly Abrams for the past few months and he can physically feel the “So...” hanging in the air, but he’s chill, it’s chill. He’s not about to force anything and they’re having fun, so whatever.

When he’s not chilling with Holly, Grant can usually be found spending time with Joe Vandervort or Lex Walker. A lot of people don’t like Joe, but considering who raised Grant, he knows how to be his friend without falling into one of his messes. As for Lex, they mostly just get high together, but he can’t shake the feeling that her friend, Steve, hates his guts.

Princess was a rather generic term around these parts which was why William had spent so long leaning leisurely against the mocktail bar eyeing the crowd. Which woman on the Upper East Side wouldn’t consider herself a princess? Or, moreso, simply was. This was tedious. He hardly wanted to cause a scene (at least not in the obvious manner) but how much longer could he just stand there? Of course that was when Freddie Redlynn stepped onto the scene and well, he just couldn’t help himself.

“Fredford! Long time no see. Tell me, what are you,” he waved a hand, “Looking for here?”

The more time that went by since Freddie had chosen his codeword, the more nervous he was becoming. Maybe he should have just sat out of this particular event. Everything was too up in the air and perhaps he was being too on the nose about how much money his codeword implied he had, but it was too late now. Honestly, he had no idea how he was supposed to find this girl-- should he just run around yelling ‘Rich Bitch’? It was then that he heard his voice and, quite honestly, it was beginning to make his skin crawl.

“Hey, William.” He replied with as much enthusiasm as he could force, “Freddie. Freddie is fine. Uh, you know, just a Rich Bitch.”
