Oh my gosh, I studied English as well! That's so cool. What are your goals for after grad school? Like a dream job? -Samantha Quick
I’m currently thinking of teaching, hopefully at the college level. But honestly, at this point in my life, I honestly don’t know for sure! There are a lot of things I want to do, and I’ve never in my life been able to decide on just one dream job, lmao!

Cartoons are pretty great! Today's prompt is work/school, are you doing either/both of these? If so feel free to share what you're studying or what kind of work you do! -Samantha Quick
Oh, yeah, I’m actually about to graduate from undergrad in December, with a degree in English (emphasis in literature) and a Linguistics certificate. I plan on finding a grad program and working on my Master’s, but I’m still figuring out details for that next stage.
#I am also currently working part-time at my local library#it's a great job but ultimately unremarkable#I tend to focus on the 'school' part of me rather than the 'work' part of me#if that makes sense#Rae rambles

Hey there! So I missed a few of the prompts I think, but what's your favorite TV show/movie? -Samantha Quick
I don’t know that I have just one favorite (there are so many good ones!), but there are things I always turn to when I can’t make up my mind or I’m having a bad day. My go-to movies are The Princess Bride, The Muppet Movie, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. As for shows, I don’t have any particular ones, but I’m very fond of cartoons like Phineas and Ferb and Gravity Falls. The 90s X-Men show is really good too when you just want some mindless fun background noise.
#so basically what we've learned today is that I'm indecisive af lmao#and also I have the TV taste of a child#which is not a bad thing#I just tend to watch things for pure entertainment value#and cartoons are really good for that#anyway#I'm rambling in the tags again lmao#about me#Rae rambles

PSA
If you want to read the Nancy Drew books, but can’t afford to buy them all, then DO NOT go to this site and search the title of the book you want. They DO NOT have free, safe, downloads of all the books in any format (PDF, ePUB, etc.). AVOID this site. This has been a PSA.

That's awesome! So today's prompt is about your ideal Nancy Drew game. Have you ever thought about what/where you'd like a game to be? -Samantha Quick
You know, I’ve never really given it much thought. I feel like the games have already kind of done everything lmao. The Hardy Boys are definitely there, and you get to play as them for a little bit. I’m not sure about the story.... Something with a supernatural vibe for sure, one of those where, at the end, we can’t just explain away all the spooky things we saw during the game. Maybe Nancy visits an old castle in Romania idk that was rumored to have belonged to a family of vampires long ago that’s encountering mysterious problems during renovation. As we investigate, we continue to come across documents and such that consistently imply that the original owners were actually vampires, although nobody in the present believes that. I have no idea who the culprit would be, or motives or whatever. I just love the idea of staying in a vampire’s home and not really being aware of the implications of that until you left. That’d be pretty good and spooky.
#I had honestly never thought about this before lmao#so this might be super disjointed and/or lame#but now I kind of want to write something with Nancy in an old vampire's castle#the idea has unexpectedly taken root

I have to admit the role playing aspect of the game is one of the reasons I've never tried. It seems very intimidating! But starting off with other beginners would probably help. How long have you been playing? -Samantha Quick
In truth, not very long. Maybe a year or so? So I have just a little more experience than others I currently play with, but not by too much. It definitely can be a little intimidating when you’re just starting out, but I’ve found that if you’re playing with friends, no one really cares how “bad” at it you are. It’s a good time though, I would definitely recommend it to just about anybody!

Hey no worries about when you respond. I can send less messages if they're too frequent for you, just let me know! Ooh I love The Murder of Roger Ackroyd! An excellent twist ending indeed. One of her best I think. Video games are great and totally count as a hobby! I've never played D&D but I've heard a lot of people really enjoy it. How do you like playing online vs in person? -Samantha Quick
It’s definitely different! One of my favorite parts of the game is the role-playing, and that gets a tad more tricky when you don’t have your body language to aid you, but it’s working pretty well regardless! My current campaign is full of beginners who are all learning together, which is a special kind of fun, I think.
#about me#dungeons and dragons#d&d#really flying my nerd flag high rn lmao#but seriously it's a very good game

Not sure if you got my last anon or not, so here's another! It's very late I know, but what are some of your hobbies besides ND? -Samantha Quick
Ah, sorry again! It seems like I’ll have a hard time remembering to answer these on time. Your last question, my favorite Agatha Christie book, is The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I would highly recommend it; it has a phenomenal twist ending.
As for hobbies, I don’t do many exciting things (I play a lot of video games, lmao), but I do play Dungeons and Dragons! It’s a lot of fun, even if most of our sessions are digital these days. I’m also an amateur poet!

Nancy has no clue why she’s done this. Nancy just did a deal with black market smugglers in Mexico to see what would happen.
Nancy does things just to watch the world burn.
