Ramble

to be honest... Since Worlds End... I've had two ideas for Max's follow up story beat (after he's healed) that have been floating in my head... And I can't get them out of my head

Route one: Maxwell's Sanity preservation

So you know how most of Adam's victims usually take him back after chasing after him, what if Max just... after he returns, tries his hardest to just ignore the f*ck out of the Devil squad... like all of them, hiding whenever they go past, ignoring their promos... just nothing... Deciding his own mental stability is more important than revenge, and in doing so, he kinda drives Cole insane? Because Cole needs his attention gosh darn it! And he will not be ignored... Or...

Route two: Sweeney Todd/Nerdy Prudes must die feat. MJF

Max just.... goes full nuclear evil revenge plot... like... Full "we all deserve to die" or just being Max Yaegerman (Btw, if you haven't watched NPMD, I highly recommend it... it's by Starkid, the full proshot is on YT). This way... Max and Adam are both *insane* about eachother! Max is slasher picking off everyone around Cole... and I'd like it if Adam was sort of... Slightly into it? Idk...

Ok... so... Maybe I can offer some insight on why *I* like this turn?

It's because, to me... it's personally relatable, mainly due to the fact I also am very neurodivergent.

Does it seem weird to you all that Max is seemingly turning good out of nowhere? Does it seem unrealistic? To me... it doesn't. I get it if you guys don't feel the same way. But for me, All I can see is a man, who like myself, may have a hard time regulating what's good and what's bad. Max from a young age has learned to not only shield himself from anything that might hurt him but to also hide the vulnerable parts of himself. Is it possible that his more.... Extreme scumbaggy tendencies are just... A mask? Because that's how I read this. Maxwell hasn't been able to unmask since he was maybe a child, so now that he can, now that he has someone who he feels is "safe", I wouldn't blame him for going all in on trying to be a good person, both to prove that he's worth it to Adam, but also to himself. He doesn't want to disappoint people... His RSD won't allow that, so at first, he tried setting the bar so low so there wasn't anything to disappoint... But now he has someone, he has many someone's. And his brain won't allow himself to be hated by them again...

I get that it may not be to your taste.... but to me... it's the most real feeling ever.

🌹Headcannons! (Tw: possibly inaccurate depiction of Disassociative Identity Disorder)🌹

• James is a flashy sort, he really does love to be all flashy. And that love translates well into his extravagant sorcerer toolkit.

• James is really good at sewing, They are actually the one who customized all of the steam team's uniforms. He acts smug about how well they look but is secretly glad that the others seem to like them as much as they do.

• You can say James has a *huge* inferiority complex... Especially when it comes to his status as a "mere" mixed traffic engine driver• His insecurity is also coincides with his body dysmorphia

• James used to stay so close to Gordon because he thought that if he did, he could become as "confident" as him (we all know how that is...)

• He really likes wearing and experimenting with make - up

• Before moving to Sodor, James used to get a lot of flak from his peers for being so "plain", he promised himself he'd never let himself feel to that way again.

• After his accident, the trauma caused James to develop an alter of sorts. His name is Jay and he's a protector for James' psyche.

• James still can't run properly after the accident, he broke a lot of bones• It took a while for him to accept his identity. But once he got to Sodor, you could say it just spilled out of him.

• Before his relationship with Thomas, the only person he's ever liked was a boy from his childhood... Let's just say... It didn't turn out... Good.

• James first realized he liked Thomas during the infamous accident... He fully accepted it only a year later.

• He tried to be nonplussed on the outside... But he was a mess whenever the cute blonde boy was around....

• James finally confessed to Thomas when they both were trying to escape a certain steelworks

• They exchanged jewelry! James loves to flaunt all the cute pieces Thomas has made him.

• That earring of his is actually one of Thomas' feathers, it still glows and feels warm sometimes.

• James learned how to fence from his Mother

• He paints his own nails!

Personally, I think that Duck is a very good singer and guitar player. He loves to play and sing country, but he sings other genres as well. His singing voice is very deep, clear, powerful, and loud if he wants it to be.

All I will say about my Evil violet "blue" puffball is that.... People really shouldn't have expected someone so full of chaos like Thomas to stay good forever.... sometimes he has to.... dip into his more uncanny urges sometimes... especially when someone else is filling the role of moral high ground.
