here’s some stuff for you and your heart about konoha’s best boy ( akamaru ) : 

akamaru grows to be the biggest of the inuzuka’s clans dogs! he’s like clifford and he gets really big because kiba loves him so much :/

full grown, he’s about horse sized; big enough to ride into battle even when kiba is an adult

he stops growing when kiba is in his mid-to-late 20s

akamaru ages with kiba!! akamaru doesn’t get old until kiba does!!

“kiba, i hope you don’t plan on sleeping through every class.” he says it good-naturedly, but there’s annoyance there, too. “i hope, for your sake, that akamaru takes good notes.”

he scrunches his nose, pinky finger scratching the inside of his ear as he yawns. “ no, not all of them. just the boring ones. ” he hardly blinks as the words leave his mouth, eyes drifting away from his teacher in front of him to gaze out the windows. it wasn’t meant to be an insult, but hana told him that the things he said tended to come out that way.

akamaru shifts on his head and kiba hums in question as a small paw taps his forehead. he looks up, confused, before realizing his companion is getting his attention for iruka. “ well, i mean, he’ll tell me about it later. i mean, we were just reviewing shinobi rules again. i’ve heard those my whole life ! ” a pause, akamaru yaps and kiba’s face contorts, concern suddenly evident across his face. iruka-sensei was a smart guy, but akamaru brought up a good point.

“ iruka-sensei. . . you know akamaru can’t write, don’t you ? ”
